No, I genuinely get where youre coming from but BREAKING INTO the house like you own the place is NOT IT ?? he could use his position as an official sent by the court to oversee the grain reliefs and yada-yada, but He's not doing that. He's not entering the Xie house for any mission specifically he never used any jade pendant/token, yes he has the ability to do so but the fact that he just SITS right in the Xie's family head chair is weird okay. Thats what we need to acknowledge for now, he just sits there occasionally provoke some of the folks there and threaten them with jail time+torture, its just what he does most of the time💀
On the other hand him being there indeed could be a leverage and shield FL, but it also made the Xie family extremely wary of her. Which is not ideal in her revenge plan at all, she was doing just fine even before he got nosy but with him right in the enemy's den the help he's offering is also limited.
