I may be the only one who likes the filter/effects of the show, probably bc I'm always looking for something fresh. All recent dramas have craaazily decorated costumes that draw the focus off the actors, and the scenes often have a vibrancy setting that kinda hurts the eye. EX. TTEOM's vibes were very dark and enchanting, but I find it nice to have a more tranquil vibe and less repetitive frames😖

first arc is essentially comedy focused, backstory of the sects and the heavens, angst comes later (summary: Li Qingyue is the sect gatekeeper who lacks status among her peers, encounters Bai Jiusi who keeps his identity a mystery) anymore would ruin the fun of the watch imo! so far i've enjoyed the comedic moments, looking forward to new eps

if director/producer believes the voice fits the role better, I don’t see why it’s a problem 😭 I think in her SOKP role her voice acting was stellar, but keep in mind that LQY is def more of a silly/sweet character, BL’s voice may not have delivered what the director envisioned. Ten miles peach blossom was very popular even with dubbing, bc the voice and screen acting blended well together. I promise it’ll stick

I would be happy to see anyone else start this drama! def an emotional rollercoaster, but I also understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I think I was just dying for a cliché but down to earth drama, hope you enjoy!

would suggest watching the trailers, the summary headline is “three marriages, three divorces”. at least one of them is always holding onto a past grudge or relationship, actively seeking revenge or redemption with the other. ZSX plays baijiusi, but BL will start out as the innocent liqingyue then turn into the stoic huaruyue. my guess is BJS sees traces of HRY in LQY so he gets close to her, then he “betrays” her for her own good which makes her hate him. she’ll use the next marriage to get back at him (you can see the stabbing in the trailer) after turning back into HRY. just my guess since this is an original story so there’s no official novel synopsis 😆

trailers make me believe that it’ll be comedic to ease you then throw you into a volcano of angst and rip your arteries apart 🥀

Opinions on him vary a lot lol. He has a reputation for being eccentric bc of his Weibo posts. He’s basically like a no filter guy who has a lot of negative things to spew. IMO he’s still quite talented at his job, these announcements can be found in Weibo livestreams or posts.
