about the whole mdl rating situation, it's inevitable because no public drama site with ratings can truly prevent against the bias of fans and haters. many great 10/10 dramas this year truly left an impression on me but still ended up with subpar ratings. personal enjoyment & show success in mainland china is not affected by these numbers, so I would encourage all watchers to rate only after watching and ignore the weird fluctuations 🫶 happy watching !!

I may be the only one who likes the filter/effects of the show, probably bc I'm always looking for something fresh. All recent dramas have craaazily decorated costumes that draw the focus off the actors, and the scenes often have a vibrancy setting that kinda hurts the eye. EX. TTEOM's vibes were very dark and enchanting, but I find it nice to have a more tranquil vibe and less repetitive frames😖

first arc is essentially comedy focused, backstory of the sects and the heavens, angst comes later (summary: Li Qingyue is the sect gatekeeper who lacks status among her peers, encounters Bai Jiusi who keeps his identity a mystery) anymore would ruin the fun of the watch imo! so far i've enjoyed the comedic moments, looking forward to new eps
