reading some novel comments i think they toned down the wildness of sang jiu for the show but this part was kept in so perhaps that's why there's change

i hate it too but tbf mingye has always closed off his boundaries towards others so he has like 0 social awareness skills and sang jiu is always willing to give someone else the benefit of the doubt bc of her gullible character that had a sheltered life in the ocean

they barely do this w a second male lead and only make an evil woman who goes from girl w sad backstory to evil witch aiyaa

ik it's milder than the novel but she went from sad crying about to leave to basically forcing him weak? What T-T
