first of all, the tree was given to letter-dosan, dodal haven't yet establish their relationship (dalmi and real dosan) because they only met ONCE before the the plant-giving, and at the time dosan explicitly said to hjp he wanted to lie about the letters.

So here we have it: the letters are ji pyeongs, AND the plant is technically his too. Dosan excuse me but you have no right to neither of those two.
