Get your hopes up because if they follow the novel, then it’s a good ending.
Considering they were barely in the main part of the novel and then got only one special chapter, the show already treated us to way more in their development and importance :) but yes, their own series would nice.
can someone spoil me if inspector M died on novel? i am in love with this dude XD
As mentioned above, Aem survived in the novel and in fact got promoted to replace his corrupt superior (i.e. Tung).
Yup, the novel isn’t a very complex whodunit conspiracy, and while I liked the novel, the improvements and enhancements made for the series are excellent especially given the medium of a show.
As an aside, Aem - while he had a lot of scenes on the novel - also didn’t have the same level of “screentime” and importance there unlike on the show. He was also indicated as having a wife and family.
In the novel, Rungthiva and Pued both killed Jane in tandem.
They can still change things for the series, of course, as they’ve changed quite a few, but right now, I wouldn’t trust Rungthiva’s account that she told Inspector Aem during interrogation.
Especially since, in the novel. Rung and Pued killed Jane for two reasons - the secondary reason was that Rung and Pued were having an affair and Jane learned about it, leading to the primary reason for her murder: Jane, having found out about the affair, threatened to expose Rung and Pued’s involvement in a housing development funds corruption.
Just replace “housing development funds corruption” with “human trafficking,” and so far it aligns with what we’ve seen as of Episode 12 (Jane threatened to expose all of them for the human trafficking ring).
I’m guessing Rungthiva is still one of Jane’s killers on the show, but whether Pued is the other one or someone else may still change because I feel they revealed the murder scene too scene in Rungthiva’s account which isn’t trustworthy.
Is it true that in the novel it is Sorn-That and not That-Sorn? Either way, I'm fine with it. LOLKids, that is…
The novel never really indicated if it’s ThadSorrawit or SorrawitThad.
Are you referring to what Lazy Subber mentioned on the LS page? LOL I’m unsure where LS got the idea that it was SorrawitThad when there was no implication one way or the other. Unless it’s a translation issue.
If anything, it was more implied that it’s BunnTann and not TannBunn because there was a scene where it was mentioned that Tann “went down” on Bunn.
Did this get region locked or something? I have VIP on WeTV, and have watched all episodes so far, but when I…
I didn’t log in yesterday, so I can’t say if there was an issue or not on my end, but as of Monday late afternoon, my VIP account still shows all episodes up to VIP Episode 11 (i.e. up to date).
If there was an issue, it may be resolved already.
I might be in the minority but I hope M stays as is. A minor peeve of mine with BLs is when whole friend groups…
Normally I would agree but for Aem, I would probably make an exception if they went that route because there have been hints that the show version may be gay/bi to begin with (i.e. not a sudden discovery). Particularly in the first couple of episodes with him approaching Bunn and inviting him out, etc.
There certainly was some erotic tension. Inspector M not only took the doctor out, he also brought him back home…
If I didn’t think Oat is a murderer in the series (one of my suspects for the show as he wasn’t even in the novel and just got added for the series, plus there are some in-story hints that there may be an “insider” in the hospital)... I would ship him and Aem. But I don’t think they’ve had much interaction anyway.
One change I hope they make from the novel to the series is that Inspector Aem gets a boyfriend on the show.
In the book, he’s straight and married (and was actually almost a background character).
So far, in the show, I think nothing has been directly confirmed re: his family status.
But episode 1, with him bringing Bunn out to The Mist for a night out, probably indicates being single (just probably) and in fact might even show he had a slight interest in Bunn.
Then when we see his house (when Tann/Bunn stole the laptop), it didn’t seem Aem was living with anyone, or else all the noise etc. would likely have had any other residents of the house come out or panic.
PS: Who else thought Dr. Oat was gonna do a love confession in that scene outside the hospital?? LOL!
I did think he would do a love confession to take the place of Pued in the novel.
In the novel, Pued was still alive when Bunn’s death was faked. When Pued thought that Bunn was dead (as per orders of Por... which, in the show, is different because in the show it’s as per Commander Tung’s orders to Tann)... Pued let it slip that he implicitly was in love with Bunn. So he was furious at Por.
Since in the show Bunn’s fake death happened after Pued already died, and I still suspect Oat for several other reasons (one of which is that Rungthiva would likely have to have an accomplice inside the hospital, and the fact that Oat does not exist in the novel and was only added to the series)... I really did think Oat would “take Pued’s place” as someone who was secretly in love with Bunn.
But hey, three episodes left, so who knows. A love confession might still happen especially if it turns out Oat is also a murderer.
Things that made me warm and fuzzy in episode 11:-Inspector M being one of the good guys! We all called it, but…
If they follow through on Rungthiva’s motivations as laid out in the novel, then it’s not just because of a man. There’s more to it. So we’ll have to wait and see if they make it similar to the novel.
Yes.But at the same time, how Sorrawit is just way more forward than Bunn, who acts all shy and such.“Aren’t…
So far, I have to agree that the series is better and has made improvements on the novel - especially with Thad and Sorrawit who were barely there except for some small appearances in the main story, a short but significant scene after a time jump, and then an entire Special Chapter Sorrawit exploring the relationship of the two.
I would still recommend reading the novel. Writing-wise it’s average to above-average, and there’s a structural issue IMO and some underdeveloped characters and motivations, but it has a charm to it that I really liked.
It might not be the best novel if you look at all literature, but for the BL/yaoi genre, I think it’s fairly good and entertaining enough.
So yes, I would still read it but be prepared to lower expectations especially if you’ve watched the show.

Of course, Por is still alive on the show at this point, and in the novel, by this point he was already killed as well, so they changed that.
So they may still change Aem’s fate, and that’s where the 20% uncertainly is for me LOL

One of my favorite exchanges in the book (Special Chapter Sorrawit) goes something like...
Thad: That girl is my cousin.
Sorrawit: So you don’t have a girlfiend?
Thad: No.
Sorrawit: That means you could be my boyfriend.
Absolutely charming, and no wonder Thad gets smitten by him in the novel and in the series.
