Title Manner of Death Spoiler
Wait? I thought that Dam is the older brother of Pued? (or is his/their father?) That is why everyone is listing…
Mr. Black is Tann himself.

Tann uses the “Mr. Black” (Khun Dam) codename for his work as an “agent” of his half-brothers Por and Pued.

It is Tann / Mr. Black who takes Thad (That) under his wing as his protege. This is why Thad and his gang are being referred to as working for Mr. Black / Khun Dam. Thad’s main loyalty is to Tann, not Por or Pued, because of how Tann helped him out of his family’s poverty.

I can’t believe I didn’t realize that sooner LOL

EDIT: I wrote the above while watching the show and had paused after the scene between Bunn. Tann, Thad, and Sorawit. I just finished the episode now, and so it does get revealed already that Tann is Dam / Black at the end. Hehe

@Duckypie06 @Kami_in_Black let me correct myself.

I just realized now who Dam is. This is because of translations on the subtitles where it was being subtitled directly as the Thai word Dam and not translated to the English word Black.

Watching tonight’s advanced episode where they were talking about the black van that took Nam, the word in Thai to describe the van was “si dam,” and I suddenly remembered that the “si dam” = “color black” (dam = black).

(I learned the Thai words for different colors before, among other basic Thai words.)

So I now just realized that the Khun (Mister) Dam they have been referring to in the show is the character in the book with the codename “Mr. Black” in the English translation of the book.

It looks like the series subtitled the name directly as “Dam” (or Khun Dam) and not “Mr. Black.”

And so now I know who Dam (Mr. Black) is based on the novel.

Major spoiler below based on the book.

If they are faithful to the book, then...Sorrawit is 18 years old for the main portion of the book and is in Year…
They’re actually doing more development of that That/Sorrawit subplot than the novel did, so as I’m happy with that. That epilogue, if it happens, will be such icing on the cake.

Is this series boy love? Or have they edited so that is only bromance? Ex. The Untamed adaptation is not explicit…
It’s BL. Not only are they actively flirting with each other, so far they’ve already had a couple of kisses. And the trailer clearly shows at some point they’ll be sleeping together.

And the source material is BL.

There is a time jump around 3/4 of the way in the book.

Six months after the murders in the North, Sorrawit goes to college in Bangkok (Medicine), and he has been dating Thad for some time already. Thad has also just graduated from trade school (Mechanics as noted above) and is about to move to Bangkok to find a job there and be with Sorrawit.

I absolutely hope they show this in the series, even as an epilogue.

ok guys how old was natty. and how old r nam, sorawit, and tat. i need to know for confirmation purposes lol
If they are faithful to the book, then...

Sorrawit is 18 years old for the main portion of the book and is in Year 12 (Matthayom 6) and is in class 1 (the Gifted Class).

That / Thad is 20 years old (Sorrawit says he is two years older than him). He is studying Mechanics at a trade school.

As for Natty and Nam, neither are in the book (characters added for the series). But since they are shown as students of Jane and classmates of Sorrawit, then they’d be around his age of 18.

Also, possible spoilers re: Sorrawit and Thad below.

Where did you read the novel? Also was it in english?
Haven’t tried looking for other sites since I have MEB and saw it there

Pued’s older brother is Por (spelled Paul in the English version of the novel).

Dam isn’t in the novel. I believe Dam is the congressman who took Nam from the hospital. Different character / actor from Por/Paul

The extent of my medical knowledge is watching Dr. G Medical Examiner and I'm surprised. I don't understand why…
Dr. Bun is implied to be suspicious of That’s wound but had not spoken about it yet, likely to get more info to see if That was his attacker.

Nam not being discharged by the attending physician is definitely off-putting, but my assumption is that big shot congressman pulled strings to get her out, and it’s clear that there’s a lot of politics and money and bribery happening, so I hand-waved that one off.

What kind of idiot cop walks into a room while someone is having an abortion?
I’m guessing since it was illegal in their jurisdiction, they’d stop it.

*Screaming* soooo I, like a few others here... went ahead and purchased the book and WOW!!! The novel is really,…
I just finished the book and it was great, though I thought the structure could’ve been better. Like, the suspense thriller part pretty much ended around 3/4 of the way through and it largely changed into classic BL situations in the last 7-9 chapters. Not necessarily a bad thing, but jarring.

And the revelation of the motivations etc. of the perpetrators was a bit anticlimactic as it was almost like an afterthought.

I still did enjoy the novel (and loved the special Sorrawit chapter), but I’m glad they seem to be fleshing this story out more for the series.

There are a lot of additional characters, or characters whose roles have been expanded, for the show. I’m glad with the modifications they made regarding Jane for the show - it makes the main victim more accessible and not just a random person Bunn did not know.

And they’ve also deviated a bit and expanded on the mafia activities and added a stronger conspiracy that clearly wasn’t in the novel.

So even if I loved the novel, I get the feeling with them changing things up, adding more characters, etc., while still keeping key story and character development - they might even possibly keep us guessing if they’ll use the same killer as the novel or if they’ll change it so that those who’ve read the book can still be surprised.

Is it just me or does anyone else ship Tat and Sorawit????
They end up as a couple in the novel and the series is doing great in fleshing their story out.

I finally finished the novel, and the special Sorrawit chapter is just... we need more. LOL. And I’m glad the series looks to be going that way.

Since it’s on Great Sappon’s body, I myself am not complaining haha

I’m halfway through the novel (so good so far!).

While the killer has been named as of mid-novel, there have just so far been way too many new additional main characters on the show (unless they are yet to be introduced into the novel) and additional layers of mafia activities on the show that so far are not described in the novel...

... that even if I now know the killer in the novel, I get the feeling they might have changed things up for the show to keep viewers who read the novel guessing.

(I won’t spoil the novel’s killer of course, in case they still use the same person on the show, plus I’m just halfway through so there might still be twists along the way.)

Lmao my biggest question is what is Tan job exactly he seems to have is hands in so many jar. And we do him going…
In the first episode, when Jane introduces Tan to Bun, she says Tan is a shareholder of the school she teaches at. This implies he does have a comfortable level of money.

If he really is the half-brother of Pued as has been so far implied, and they are heirs to the mob... even if Tan is a mistress’ child, it’s not far-fetched his father could still have given him the house and shares in the school (even if his other half-brothers didn’t like him or his mother, per his story to Bun).

Also - while I only started reading the novel and am just a few chapters in, Tan in the book is said to own the cram school he teaches in.

So he’s not meant to be your average teacher, I think, but someone who comes from a well-off background to begin with.

I agree with the ME and GP observation. It was a bit odd. That said, I’m waving it off for now as Viangpha Mork…
It does look mid-sized, but they also do make a point of saying a couple of times that VM was small enough that “everyone knows what everyone else is doing in town.”
