Is this series a ghost type series? Because I feel like that should be in the synopsis in case death/ghost triggers…
One of the genre tags is “Supernatural.”

I think that should hopefully suffice because putting more info beyond that on the synopsis is a major spoiler as it’s a mini-plot twist that only gets revealed only at the end of Episode 2.

Just a guess, they probably had limited shooting time for Jimmy and Tommy as foreign visitors to Korea during…
So far I do like Bite Me, but it has one major flaw: a directorial choice of really slow scenes stretching for so long and almost nothing moving forward. A lot of staring, stylistic non-talking, long and lingering camera shots.

There is a good story there somewhere, but it’s the 4th episode already and the plot has barely moved.

So if you can stand that and have the patience, you might like it.

Again, so far I believe I like it enough, but it’s beyond slow burn at this point.

It would have done better if each episode is 15-20min with actual faster movement.

A lot of it is form over substance, and it’s not the novel writer’s fault nor the actors (Zung is great). It’s directorial artistic choice.

Check out the forum here on MDL for more feedback - generally, most opinions are the same: high potential story, great cinematography, good actors… but really super slow.

So I suggest you watch the first two episodes and see if it’s a style you’ll be able to go through for another 10 eps or so.

Hence - if Bite Me can do with shorter, better paced episodes, Peach of Time can probably do with longer, more fleshed out episodes.

in all honesty i think the series could have benefited from simply being longer. a lot of grievances people seem…
Just a guess, they probably had limited shooting time for Jimmy and Tommy as foreign visitors to Korea during what is essentially still a pandemic period. So they probably had to shorten the series to accommodate limited shooting times… though I agree this could have been 1-2 more episodes, or else instead of 20-25 minutes per episode, maybe make it the more common 40 minutes per episode.

This is the opposite of other ongoing BL “Bite Me,” which probably would be better if it were trimmed down to 20 minutes per episode.

I hope the dad of the comatose girl rots in jail. No matter how miserable he was, killing the innocent son of…
I agree he is likely the culprit, at this point 70-80% chance. But this has not officially been confirmed yet and we will see in the final episode.

I am throwing in the possibility of that as a misdirect, and it could also be the hospital director who killed YO. The director wouldn’t be so out of the blue at this point, especially given his interactions with YO’s mother this ep.

Motive? Possibly did it to give him the opportunity to tell her to “take a break” / “resign” in order to grieve, thus ridding him of someone he perceives as a PR problem for the hospital.

I’d give this theory a 20% or so chance of being a possibility. It wouldn’t be so random (he’s been badgering her to “take a break” since the start of the series), and it makes the grieving father’s story a parallel to YO’s mother story while being a red herring all this time.

Title Peach of Time Spoiler
Episode 9 spoilers below (for those who’ve seen the advanced VIP episode)
While evidence is really slowly going in the direction of the grieving father as YO’s killer, I am starting to have some partial doubts that they may be misdirecting us again.

I still would say it’s probably 70-80% chance likely, but now I’m also casting some suspicion on the hospital director given some of the interactions between him and YO’s mother this episode.

There’s the matter of motive, of course - so far not as clear cut as the father of the comatose girl, but there’s the off chance he did it to force YO’s mother to “take a break” and resign. This then solves his perceived hospital PR problem.

—-

A few things, though:

1. I have been thinking about it, but now I’m not sure I ever considered this before. There is a possibility that YO’s death is tied to the resort’s sale. This subplot of the resort being sold has been there from almost the beginning.

Let’s not forget that the resort is actually YOs inheritance - it was his paternal grandparents’ and I believe it was stated he inherited it / it was in his name since his father died. His mother is an in-law and only likely got the rights to own it when YO died (being YO’s only remaining relative). In fact, she might not even be an in-law - IIRC she never married YO’s father so he was being called names by other kids.

I’m not sure of the legalities of course, but if the property was 100% in YO’s name already, and there were no relatives to contest it, then even if the mother was not legally an in-law, she was still YOs blood mother, so she got the property (which clearly she does because she’s the one selling it with no one challenging her).

Now… someone has been wanting to purchase the resort from the start, and while YO wanted to get away from his mother, I don’t think it was ever stated that he had plans for the hotel (sell it or whatever).

Think about it: heir of a luxury resort mysteriously dies, title goes to his mother who may not have as much emotional connection to the property; with her son and her son’s father both dead, the luxury resort is now open for takeover from a grieving mother.

There’s a possibility someone killed YO, the heir, to force his mother to sell it afterwards.

This is fairly plausible, though they would need some solid writing to get this to work in the final episode. But at least there is some precedent in prior episodes.

2. The police said they were now looking at the angle of YO being killed right after he invited Peach over for a visit. Circumstantial, but they mentioned it so they might be suspecting something.

There is thus a possibility YO died for other reasons not connected to the girl in the hospital (misdirect), and the coming of Peach was something that catalyzed YO’s death.

It’s unlikely though that Peach himself is the culprit. While the police may possibly now considering Peach as a suspect or accomplice just because the circumstances of YO’s death happened after he invited Peach over / Peach decided to come over, it would be a major writing cop-out.

And if by any chance it’s Peach or he’s involved, they better have an excellent explanation because it will just otherwise be a mar to the series.

But I doubt this will be the case anyway - probably a misdirect.

Of course, I’m still surprised the police never considered this angle before. Think about it: stranger from a different country arrives around the time the heir of a big resort owned by rich clan mysteriously dies; stranger somehow wins trust of grieving mother and starts living there with her; grieving mother gives stranger loads of money to open cafe… it’s the stuff of scams we’ve seen in real life.

But I digress LOL

3. The teaser for next episode seems to imply that this killer could be someone they don’t know (“Who is this man?” in a voice-over). So there is this still possibility.

It is likely an edit meant to also misdirect us (like how they spliced a prior teaser where they made it seem Peach was asking Shin Ji out for a real date).

It would be really hard to justify making the killer someone that has never been seen in the series as yet or without any kind of clue. And next episode is the last episode already, so establishing someone entirely new or unknown at this point will be hard to write / execute well.

4. Mario (or someone he possessed? which can align with the “Who is this man?” line in the teaser) remains unlikely at this point, but they may still throw us a curveball.

I was leaning on evil Mario a few episodes ago, but they’ve done a great job on his Su Jin story since then, truly heartwarming scenes, and it would be so painful to see all of that is still just an act by the final episode.

Su Jin in her scenes have really just been amazing opposite Tommy.

—-

So my top bet remains Eun Bin’s grieving father, which would be the most logical based on current story’s trajectory.

Then the hospital director is next at a good amount of probability, maybe 20-30% chance, which would be workable while making Eun Bin’s father a fair enough misdirect.

The other 4 ones I noted above are super low in probability, and if they go the route of any of these (except maybe the resort sale theory), they need to have really solid explanations in the one remaining episode because otherwise it runs the risk of bad/convoluted writing.

I love this drama, it’s so beautiful, but I also wanted to take a moment to appreciate how hot Tommy is
Tommy is second on my ranking of Thai celeb crushes (after Pluem Purim) so this series is truly Tommy Appreciation Series for me.

Also, it’s his birthday later this month :)

Episode 8 Spoilers (in case VIP ep hasn’t been seen by other)
Ok, so my prediction/theory about Mario turning evil is unlikely at this point.

Although it can still happen as the series wraps up, how they established his reconnection with Su Jin this episode was beautiful and heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time (I teared up a bit), so turning him evil afterwards would just ruin it.

So now I doubt this will be the case any longer and my money is now on that guy suing the hospital as probably the murderer of Yoon Oh (assuming someone did push him as implied by Yoon Oh’s dreams).

Mario getting closure (of sorts) was really the highlight of the ep for me. Assuming this of course closes that subplot - there may still be twists.

I have decided to just ignore the exact metaphysics of Yoon Oh’s presence (i.e. how he can touch and keep things like the key, how he can drink, etc.).

Mario looks really sinister in those scenes where he’s slowly turning. Tommy’s really acing the switches from…
I agree they are the most plausible. Revealing the killer to be someone out of the blue that we have yet to see or even at least been referred to in dialogues while we are already 70% into the series runs the risk of bad writing.

Somehow I feel there needs to be something established as possible motives at this point of the story even if it’s still a mystery.

If it were another student, they’d have to find a really good way to tie that into what has so far been established (perhaps him failing to pass college exams is the best possibility, but it’s a huge stretch unless they’ve been super clever enough to have been dropping hints and we get an “aha! why didn’t see that” moment when the reveal happens).

I’m trying to see if the other barista he works with in Ep 1 might have said something to indicate he could be the killer, he could’ve followed Yoon Oh after Yoon Oh left the cafe, but still not much here so far.

Another evil spirit is a possibility, but if so, it has to be someone who we wouldn’t be super surprised about or at least related to someone. Like the grandmother or Su Jin or whoever.

The malpractice guy is definitely a big suspect. His daughter is the one who went into a coma, so it could be a “my child for your child” murder motive.

And of course, Mario is another big suspect (for reasons I’ve outlined in a long comment a few days ago).

Mario looks really sinister in those scenes where he’s slowly turning. Tommy’s really acing the switches from nice to sinister. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

And also, it’s now clear that definitely someone pushed Yoon Oh in front of that car. Four possibilities in my head - Mario (as I theorized in an earlier comment), another evil spirit, the guy suing the hospital for malpractice, or the co-worker of Yoon Oh in the cafe at the very beginning (low possibility, but who knows).

I also think this is the best Korean BL drama till now. About Jimmy this is only his second time acting after…
Technically it’s Jimmy’s third as he and Tommy did Close Friends, although that was just one episode as part of an anthology.

I don’t know if you’ve watched Ep 7, as it’s an advanced ep for VIP subscribers of WeTv, so I won’t spoil it for you - but I think Ep 7 has now made Mario significantly more interesting. And Tommy is doing an excellent job at it.

So far I still like the series especially Aue (and Lek), but this probably should have been similar to some other recent series that go for 20 minute run time per episode.

I don’t mind artistic cinematic choices, including some drawn out scenes, but at this point it’s excessive. It’s almost like UWMA (which I also liked) except we haven’t heard Aek say “P’Aueeee” in the vein of “P’Deeeean.”

Kidding aside, I do still believe there is a good story here, but it’s being diffused by the editing and directorial choices on style. The substance is thus starting to be diminished. I’m unsure if this will be the case through until the end, so I hope it picks up.

Zung is just so beautiful to look at, another thing that keeps me going through those drawn-out scenes, though Mark still doesn’t do anything for me.

amazing deductions :) maybe it's because I associate Tommy's face to his WHY R U character but the thought of…
Tommy as Zon in WRU is so sweet and funny and occasionally a bit dense in an adorable way - so yes, it would be interesting if he uses that sort of comedic personality / portrayal as a cover for a more sinister Mario.

Not marking this as a spoiler as it’s just a theory.

Extended Theory Time! With minor spoilers.

So due to the discussions here on whether Mario remaining here after 20 years but doesn’t seem evil is a plot hole or not… made me rewatch Mario’s scenes so far as of Episode 5.

Episode 3.

1. Barring any translation errors on the WeTV subtitles, Mario said Yoon Oh “could” become an evil spirit, not “will” become, if he doesn’t resolve his deep sorrow.

2. When Peach asked what Mario’s deep sorrow was, Mario said he’s stuck because he wanted to ask the woman he loved “why she left him to die.” There is a pause here, and Tommy’s acting indicates a subtle bitterness therein. I feel there may be more than sorrow here - vengefulness is also a possibility.

Episode 4.

1. When Yoon Oh asked Mario how he died, Mario evaded the question. Peach pressed on and asked if it had anything to do with the woman Mario loved. Mario named the woman, Su Jin, but never actually answered the question of how he died.

2. Mario asked Yoon Oh when his 49th day was and told him to resolve the deep sorrow or he “might” become an evil wandering spirit. Again, barring subtitle translation errors, this indicates it is a possibility but not necessarily a certainty.

3. Mario also talked about how Yoon Oh’s grandmother knew him when he was alive and that she had invited him over to the resort in the past.

So from the above scenes, there are a couple of things I gathered:

1. Becoming evil is just a possibility and not a certainty.

2. Mario has been very secretive of exactly how he died.

3. He harbors resentment that the woman he loved, Su Jin, “left him to die.”

4. Mario had a connection to Yoon Oh’s family when he was alive, specifically the grandmother who owned the resort.

Some theories/possibilities in my head:

1. Mario is possibly evil and has been dropping hints about it, such as the fact that he’s still here after 20 years and past the 50 days window (though again, he just said “could become” or “might become” and not a certainty).

2. He may actually be a vengeful spirit trying to get revenge on Su Jin, whom he believes left him to die.

3. Most likely, Su Jin has a connection to Yoon Oh and family. Su Jin may even be his mother or grandmother, with Mario lying about the name, or perhaps it was a nickname Yoon Oh didn’t know… or if it was a secret romance, a false name “Su Jin” gave Mario.

4. The fact that Yoon On’s mother knows how to speak Thai points to the likely possibility she learned it from Mario and they had some relationship (otherwise, at this point halfway through the series, introducing a third Thai character heretofore unknown would not be good writing… and so far writing has been good).

5. So: Mario may or may not be Yoon Oh’s father. We can also consider grandfather as a possibility since he name-dropped Yoon Oh’s grandmother as someone he knew.

6. It’s also possible he was a third party relationship of Yoon Oh’s mother whom she “abandoned” in favor of Yoon Oh’s father when the father got her pregnant. Or a relationship she had when he was in the resort (since Yoon Oh’s grandmother apparently invited him over).

7. It should also be taken into consideration that Mario could also be lying about ghosts becoming evil spirits if they remain here. Perhaps he’s saying this to scare Peach and Yoon Oh for whatever reason. Maybe to get rid of Yoon Oh? Perhaps Yoon Oh’s presence, whether living or as a ghost, is a threat to whatever Mario’s intents are, possibly related to getting revenge on Su Jin.

8. Given this, we should also consider the possibility that Mario orchestrated Yoon Oh’s death (not the driver’s fault and not a suicide) and is hanging around because he didn’t expect Yoon Oh to remain a ghost - and is still trying to get rid of him.’

9. Regardless whether Mario is telling the truth or not about evil spirits, it’s unlikely Yoon Oh will become one (being the lead, though that would be interesting too if it happens). Either Mario is lying about evil spirits, or Yoon Oh “makes it” by the deadline, or Yoon Oh overcomes the possibility even if past the deadline.

10. We can also consider the possibility that Yoon Oh is unable to move on for a different reason. Maybe the deep sorrow (or issue) he has to resolve is not his but perhaps his mother’s - perhaps this is his “mission” given the dynamics of their relationship. A bit of a stretch, but it may also have to do with helping her resolve those issues at the hospital.

Tommy has always been a good actor IMO and behind that veneer of humor and comedy he portrays in Mario, there have been hints in Tommy’s delivery that there is something not quite right about the character. Mario may be more sinister than he’s been letting on so far.

——

And to REPOST a comment I made as a response on a thread here earlier… just to tie it all together why I went back to rewatch Mario’s scenes:

So if it’s just a possibility (for a ghost to become an evil spirit), then Mario could have been able to overcome becoming evil.

Or the other theory, which would probably be more dramatically interesting, is that Mario did in fact become evil and he’s there acting all nice but in fact has evil intent. He may even have slyly hinted this to them when he said they become evil (the whole “right in front of you” evil without saying jt outright), and they were just too dense to realize it.

I love Tommy and would be happy if he were a benign helpful spirit guide so I will be ok if possibility #1 above turns out true.

But from a storytelling standpoint, I think the idea of Mario being the villain in the end is probably more interesting and powerful (as long as they execute it correctly).

After all, usually your main cast would have an antagonist, right? So far the 4 main cast members don’t have a true antagonist, with the mother being painted now more as a torn woman and not as bad as Yoon Oh thought of her.

I’m not convinced the driver who ran over Yoon Oh will be a main antagonist, especially considering they’re headed in the direction of him being innocent and Yoon Oh likely being a suicide.

Of course, the mother does seem shady with all the hospital scandals on the side, but I feel she will be a more gray character than an outright antagonist.

So my money is on Mario turning out to be the real antagonist. Him stating the info about evil spirits might not be a plot hole but rather a clue.

And if he’s really evil after all - I’d even throw it out there he could have been involved in Yoon Oh’s death (for reasons to be determined, but he’s been hanging out at the resort, right? And clearly has some probable connections to the backstory there).

There have so far been two possible causes of death for Yoon Oh: accidental manslaughter by the driver or else suicide. Maybe the real cause of death is something else entirely - perhaps Mario had something to do with it and got Yoon Oh killed.

But it’s just a theory. We’ll see.

Most likely the language barrier.Plus Tommy and Jimmy have been acting together for so long plus they often promote…
Yup. They are a fairly popular BL pair in Thailand starting off with Why R U then in Close Friends. In fact, when Peach of Time was announced and they posted pics of shooting in Korea, I and many others assumed it will be Jimmy X Tommy BL story that’s just set in Korea, but clearly they deviated from that.

And usually, BL pairs especially in Thailand tend to be marketed “together” so they do a lot of appearances, endorsements, etc. together. If you have Instagram, you can follow both of them and see their social media since early 2020 when Why R U was released. They also do quite a few Tiktoks together.
