I can put up with a lot from this show. Weak writing. Questionable acting. Off kilter pacing. I am drawing the…
Exactly. If it were that simple, why didn’t Tai wish it away that time he got it after his parents divorced and he was disillusioned about soulmates and was ignoring Patt’s voice for 2 years? He clearly didn’t like the idea for so long and it doesn’t make sense that, if it were that easy, he didn’t do it long ago.
100% agree re: Lomfon.Someone commented elsewhere here that Lomfon is supposedly innocent except for kissing Tai,…
Yes. At some point, Tai cannot hide behind his issues with his parents’ divorce as an excuse for his behaviors (lying, emotional cheating, gaslighting, selfishly running away into the wilderness without regard to the panic he might and did cause).
He actually almost doesn’t deserve even Thien at this point. For someone who seemed to be astute enough to suspect that Lomfon (who he’s only meet a few times) likes him, he seems to be so very clueless that his own brother likes Lomfon.
They’re supposed to be super close, and I find it hard to believe Tai hasn’t figured it out by now. Unless Tai really IS that self-absorbed that he only could see what’s happening to him and not what’s happening to the brother he claims to be closest to.
100% agree re: Lomfon.Someone commented elsewhere here that Lomfon is supposedly innocent except for kissing Tai,…
One other thing that I might add: Lomfon overheard Tai lying to Patt over the phone. I believe this gave him all the more reason to believe he had a chance with Tai (i.e. Tai was lying to his boyfriend to be on a date with Lomfon) - which enabled him to push for pursuing Tai.
Lomfon totally knew what he was doing. He knew he was driving a wedge between the two and was deliberately taking advantage of Tai’s lies to Patt.
100% agree re: Lomfon.Someone commented elsewhere here that Lomfon is supposedly innocent except for kissing Tai,…
Yes, Patt’s actions were too much, it was wrong, but indeed, it was a very human reaction and sometimes viewers forget that these characters are supposed to be human. And Patt has generally exhibited restraint and maturity from the beginning of the series to the point that folks were calling him too much of a green flag / Mr Perfect. This was the first time he did a major screw up, and it was a reaction to him being lied to by his boyfriend who he catches being kissed by someone else.
And indeed: Lomfon has full agency of his actions, bar none. It was not his place to try and see if someone in a relationship is his soulmate. What did he expect / want to happen? it was a clear move to try to steal someone else’s boyfriend. While having implicit/unrecognized feelings for that guy’s brother. And after he was explicitly told by Patt to not get involved with Tao (a reasonable thing since they were already boyfriends).
Him being confused about the hearing loss is normal and understandable. How he handled it is completely awful and he needs to take a long hard look at himself if it was worth destroying another relationship and alienating the one person who does seem to care for him deeply.
I've watched 10 episodes for this type of ending? Girl... I know we have two episodes left till the very end,…
100% agree re: Lomfon.
Someone commented elsewhere here that Lomfon is supposedly innocent except for kissing Tai, and that he’s “just a kid” who only wanted to understand his feelings and situation and that an adult like Patt should give him a break, and I’m like - what?!
Lomfon isn’t in high school. He may be young, but he’s in university and looks to already be in some advance courses. He’s the same age as Thien, who is only a couple of years younger than Tai - who looks to be working for sometime now. But even if Tai is a fresh graduate, then Lomfon and Thien are at least university juniors. This would make them in their early 20s. Lomfon is an adult.
Granted, he needs some more maturing (and was shown as someone who lacks social skills), but he isn’t some child who has no agency or capability to know right from wrong.
Lomfon is an adult who knew what he was doing.
He knew he liked Tai (this was implied in the truth/dare scene when asked about crushes, not to mention well-established in prior episodes with the shots of him staring googly-eyed at Tai).
He knew Tai was taken, but he had a crush on him so he totally tried to use that “promised meal” as an excuse to go on a date with Tai. If he really wanted to know what the whole soulmate thing deal was, he could have discussed this with Tai in more “neutral ground” and not on a sneaky date. Say, for example, in the cafe or in school with Thien present.
Or considering the reality that Lomfon is actually closer to Thien, and since he was already opening up to Thien earlier in the episode (asking if he would choose someone he liked or his soulmate), he could and probably should have told Thien the situation and asked Thien for help to talk to Tai, whom Thien is extremely close to.
It has been made clear in subtle shots since the beginning that Lomfon has always wanted to make a move on Tai, but he was too unsure of himself to act on it. Perhaps if he acted on it before Tai and Patt became boyfriends, and that Lomfon tried to “win” Tai’s affection early on, it would’ve been good.
But what he did was chicken out, wait for very long (and barely made a connection with Tai while all along developing his relationship with Thien, with whom he clearly already made a strong connection), then decided to act on his feelings after he learned that Tai and Patt were already in a relationship. That’s just a solid jerk move.
Not to mention that it’s implied that when he asked Thien if he would choose someone he liked versus someone who is his soulmate, it was also becoming clear that he was falling for Thien (Thien is the one he now likes, he just couldn’t admit it to himself).
And unlike Patt who in the beginning was ready to let go of his then-unknown soulmate to pursue the person he now likes (he just got lucky they turned out to be the same person), Lomfon latched onto the soulmate idea - which he didn’t even believe in to begin with (though I suppose it’s understandable to be confused when he suddenly started to have the hearing loss thing) - to pursue someone already taken and to avoid his growing feelings for Thien.
I’m pretty sure at least he had a suspicion Thien liked him, the way Thien was always holding his hand and when Thien took care of him every time he was injured or ill.
And aside from placing a wedge between Patt and Tai, he also risked driving a wedge between Tai and Thien with his actions (it’s not likely given how close they are, but it was always a possibility).
Lomfon absolutely knew what he was doing. So I can’t fathom the idea (from someone else in the comments elsewhere) that he was “just a kid” trying to get answers and is innocent.
Thank you! I agree 100% but couldn't write it perfectly like you did (english isn't my native language). That's…
Hindsight, as they say, is 20/20.
Tai being a red flag, or at least someone questionable, was probably something we should have seen episodes ago. At the very least when he selfishly ran off into the wilderness without regard for how he could cause panic at the camp. And probably even before that.
I think it all got buried behind him being generally sweet, cute, and guarded. However, in hindsight, all the signs have been there.
Patt’s behavior in Ep 10 was not good at all, but it finally showed he could have very human reactions instead of being “Mr. Perfect.”
However, the truth is that Tai’s behavior is much, much worse: he has gaslighted Patt in this entire mess.

The Patt/Nara kissing incident comparison is different in a very significant way:
At that point, Patt and Nara were already exes, and technically, Patt and Tai weren’t even boyfriends yet (they didn’t formalize it until after the mountain incident). They were pretty much in the early dating stages, so while it would have been nice if Patt had given Tai info on who his exes were, sometimes those conversations don’t happen until much later in a relationship. Patt wasn’t really obliged to even mention Nara (or any of his exes, for that matter) to Tai at that early stage of their relationship - good to do, but not a “must.”
And of course, Patt had zero idea Nara would even come to the camp. He only encountered her when she sought him out when he was alone. He never even saw her beforehand and never had the chance to give Tai a heads-up on who this woman was who just appeared out of nowhere. Nara essentially ambushed Patt.
And of course, even more so Patt didn’t expect Nara to kiss him (he clearly did not kiss back) and at a very unfortunate timing (Tai suddenly appearing).
And then Tai just went off without even confronting Patt or discussing things with him - leading to an entire camp frantically searching for him.
Another important thing to note is that, once all that had been sorted out, Patt implicitly asked Tai for permission to close things off with Nara (during the truth/dare session). Tai gave him permission - but isn’t it subtly telling that he eavesdropped on that conversation afterwards? It looks to me like Tai also had his insecurity and trust issues because even when he himself gave permission to Patt to talk with Nara, he went and secretly listened in on them.

Meanwhile.
Tai lied several times to “close things off” with Lomfon, someone he barely has a relationship with / connection to.
Unlike the Patt/Nara incident wherein Patt/Tai were still not even official - at this point Patt and Tai WERE already boyfriends. If it were so innocent, there is no reason for Tai not to tell his actual boyfriend that he was meeting someone to “close things off.”
Unlike Patt who asked Tai permission to close things off with Nara once they became official, Tai didn’t give his own boyfriend the same courtesy. While one can say that neither one actually needs to ask permission from the other to do this, it’s very telling that one of them actually respected their boyfriend enough to do so… while the other did not.
Tai was well-aware what he was getting himself into. Patt didn’t know Nara was coming to the camp when she ambushed him (when he and Tai were also not yet officially boyfriends), while Tai deliberately went off with another guy and hid it from his now-official boyfriend.
And the reason he didn’t tell Patt is that deep down he knew this was at least emotional cheating.
And the worst part is that he then blamed Patt for negatively reacting to his lies… and then had the audacity to play the victim.

I agree that Patt shouldn’t have been violent, but his reaction is a very human reaction to being gaslighted by his boyfriend. Twice.
At least it gave the character a more three-dimensional humanity since, let’s face it, Patt has been portrayed from the very beginning as “super perfect.” At least we finally see he also has flaws and is human.
But seriously: the bigger red flag here is the guy who lies to his boyfriend about going out with another guy, then gaslights and manipulates that boyfriend into thinking that he (Tai) is the victim.
The same guy who, instead of talking to his not-yet-boyfriend about catching the latter being kissed by an ex, went off dramatically to climb a mountain and cause an entire camp - including his brother - to panic about his safety. That is also extremely selfish and shows disregard not just for Patt but so many other people.
Tai clearly has issues communicating.
In hindsight, this was pretty clear when (way back) he refused to reply to his soulmate for two years. It was clear when he couldn’t confront Patt about catching the Patt/Nara kiss and instead chose to run off into the wilderness.
And his continued inability to do so with someone he’s already in a relationship with needs to be worked on.
The whole “my parents divorced so I can’t trust relationships” excuse can only be used so much when in this case, clearly he’s the one who can’t be trusted to be in a relationship.
And ironically, Tai is possibly the one turning into his mother.
Of course, we don’t know if she ever actually cheated or not, or if the divorce was his father’s fault. I guess we’ll find out before the end of the series.
But as of Ep 10 at least, given Tai’s perception of his mother being the one at fault and his implied belief that his mother might have cheated (considering his reaction to her getting married to someone else), it is quite the karma that he looks to have become the mother he hates, or at least the person he believes his mother to be.
And it doesn’t look like he recognizes it for now.

So all in all, while I agree Patt should have been more restrained and could have handled it better, it’s pretty clear that the one who has been displaying more significant red flags, including in hindsight, is Tai.
I was thinking exactly the same, if I was Tai I would be very scared of Patt after this, he looked like he had…
Patt’s behavior was not good at all, but Tai’s is worse: he has gaslighted Patt in this entire mess.

they are definitely going to pull a 'flashback' and tell us what Patts and Lomfon talked about. and of course,…
Pee is also a good actor and I’m glad he got this break considering what he was given in YYY (though understandable since he was new then and probably had to settle for the role to get exposure).
In the preview its raining when Tien and Lomfon are arguing...so that means Lomfon just hears everyone when he's…
Or Tien and Lomfon are soulmates and can hear each other in the rain.
We know the rain causes hearing loss and as far we’ve only been shown soulmates hearing each other when they are apart.
But we’ve not actually seen two soulmates being together when rain happens - my guess is they can hear and directly talk to each other’s presence and would only be oblivious to others.
This also aligns with the possibility that Lomfon also heard Tien crying when he was hearing Patt and Tai during the mountain scene; that’s how I read that scene because Tien can still be clearly heard in the background while Patt and Tai were also calling to each other in Lomfon’s head.
they are definitely going to pull a 'flashback' and tell us what Patts and Lomfon talked about. and of course,…
Title is a good actor based off of this series and his role in “Remember 15,” which is a dark psychological thriller and where his character is extremely different and even pretty much the opposite of Saengtai in many ways.
So he at least has some acting range and versatility (though can still be polished ).
May I ask about what you mean with the direction the Lomfon story is going? Him not knowing what he wants or the…
My theory is that soulmates can be platonic too - and I feel that Tai and Tien as very close brothers might have such a connection.
And then Tien and Lomfon are romantic soulmates - and the whole thing got messed up somehow that Lomfon starred hearing Tai through Tien - and consequently Patts through Tai. It also seemed to me that when he fell, Lomfon could also still hear Tien. (aside from Tai and Patts).
It may be farfetched, but not entirely implausible. And perhaps Tien and Lomfon realize this in the next episode.
I don't think the manga went any farther--which is why some things were added. Unless a new chapter just came…
None of the side characters were fleshed out in the manga. It was a pretty “bare bones” manga, and the series actually expanded the story a bit already.
Agreed. It has its share of its problems but I'd still rewatch it over and over again just because it brings me…
I have a 4th but it’s not a series but a short film. And it’s differently structured but the characters seem quite 3D and real despite the 50min run time: “We’re Both Grooms” - which incidentally also has another Kamen Rider alum as a lead (Iijima Hiroki).
Though I probably hesitate to classify that as a BL but more “mainstream” LGBT given the treatment. Pretty good - I recommend if you haven’t seen it.

I also wonder if during the summer months, soulmates wonder whatever happened to each other.
And what if soulmates are in opposite hemispheres?
How often, if at all, do people in the desert like Sahara ever get to hear their soulmate?
What is it’s raining in your place but not in your soulmate’s place? How does this work?
The metaphysics of the concept is quite intriguing LOL
Lomfon totally knew what he was doing. He knew he was driving a wedge between the two and was deliberately taking advantage of Tai’s lies to Patt.
