@casted-luck different people have different preference, so to each his own. For me, novels/books I read and like/love, when it goes on to be on a movie/drama I prefer it to be as close to the original as possible. It is basically bringing the story to reel life.
Making use of the Name of the story and characters and spinning a totally different story which includes the personality of the characters, to me it means a total disrespect to the original author.
I will always go back to the same example would you prefer Harry Potter movie to be 90-100% of the actual book(as what it is in the film) or 10% accuracy and let the Director/Scriptwriter spin their own story?
I don't dislike the changes tho? They added and took out and changed scenes to fit the running time, but the most…
I disagree due to run time they have to change the story and the personality of the characters, why I say that? A good example is that they can follow the story in Anime why can't they follow the story in Drama? A friend who is in the filming industry said something that made alot of sense to me, he said and I quote: "If the director and script writer were to follow the novel exactly what's their value?" "If the flim/drama is a success based on following the actual story, that success is not due to them." "So they will change it to make it their story so they can proof that they are "valuable"" That is also the big difference between Films/Drama made in the East as compared to the West. Example like Harry Potter, would you like it if they changed the entire story maintaining only 10% of the original story and the script writer/Director decides to re-write the entire story? In the West the author had the rights to say "I do not allow you to change my story"
It is due to the low expectations of viewers like yourself that makes these film makers/production companies thinks it's ok to just borrow the title and character names and spin a totally different story
1 example “荣耀不是一个人的游戏” translated meaning Glory is not a game played solo. That was mentioned in episode 1, but look what happened when he helped Lan Xi Ge break the record? He get them to stay put and he soloed the record?! It just proves the Director and Script writer has absolutely no idea about the story, it's also simple things like this that shows they have absolutely no respect for the original work
First impressions!Honestly, I really like it so far except for some major things that bother me personally, a…

Too many things like that team member that got kicked to go to the guild management section, Sun Xiang.
Sometimes I just don’t understand, Directors, script Writers are trying to “add value”; show that they are better than the original story writer. that they can do a better job but sadly a lot of times they fail miserably.

I kind of disagree with you in terms of not diverging from original story.
1. Ye Xiu leaving the club he was forced to retire. SuMuCheng was there to witness it and thus her unhappiness with the club which made her not renew her contract and leave.
2. Yue Zhong Nian = the reporter? This rings alarm bells that the story is going to diverge way way more later.
3. The hidden boss (暗夜猫妖)becoming the final boss
4. The part where he went to a computer with Chen Guo playing and him taking over was totally changed. The part where he said he is Ye Qiu and the conversation he had with Chen Guo which is pretty funny and meaningful because Chen Guo asked him to get Ye Qiu and Su Mucheng’s autograph which was revisited much later in the story.
5. Ye Xiu being a chain smoker which I understand why it is not part of the show due to governmental restrictions on showing smoking on screen etc.
6. Making Ye Xiu look clumsy and an idiot out of Glory was suppose to be funny? I don’t see anything funny about that.
7. Chen Guo deducting his salary scene, trying to potray her as a stingy boss? Which in the story she’s the opposite.
8. His room looks really comfortable, messy but comfortable with a nice big window. Rasing this because there are scenes linked to his room. For those who read the story will know what I am saying.
I’ll be watching up to episode 8 later tonight together with my Wife and will comment more when I get there. I am hopeful but not optimistic about the story.
Tried watching the 1st 2 episodes, gist of the story is still there but a lot changed. The funny parts in the novel were cut out and they tried to add their own funny parts which isn’t funny at all. I feel it’s right in the middle between extremely bad and might be good. Too much to comment about the inaccuracies and don’t know where to start
I hope they don't change plot at least . let medusa and xiao yan married :D . i am not sure why don't they choose…
In the novel at the end Xiao Yan asked Xiao Yi Xian and Yun Yun( can’t be sure of Yun Yun as I read it sometime ago, but certain he offered XYX) to live together with him. This hints at him bring them into his harem. I am neutral to the mono/polygamy relationships just like to see the story flow nicely and bring elements of the novel to real live drama
allengar , do u think would they make medusa xiao yan's 2nd wife or change the plot ? also their daughter xiao…
I am not sure judging with most China drama the only time you see a person with more than 1 Wife is in a drama with emperors even then the emperor only “loves” 1
Who is his love interest here and who is his sister?
Should still be Xun Er, Xiao Yan doesn’t have a Sister he only has 2 brothers. Xun Er is actually from Gu Clan and was just left in the care of Xiao Yan’s Father it was explained in episode 5 I think
Agreed baron chen as Xiao Yan will be awkward, when the story starts Xiao Yan is suppose to be 15/16 Leo Wu is still passable to portray that age due to his baby face.
Baron looks a little like the actor who was in LangYaBang/Fire in Nirvana. The Lang ya ge young master
I think there will still be romantic situations but he will probably end up with Xun Er. Medusa( I doubt it will have that R rated scene)/Xiao Yi Xian will still be in the story. If you noticed Na Lan YanRan part it seems to hint at her liking Xiao Yan
