To me it didn’t matter who she ended up with. I just can’t believe that after everything they’ve been through…
I have noticed with Thai dramas that children not biologically connected to the parents are never seem as real children of those parents, even adopted children. I thought this would be the first to buck that trend, but no it seems not.
SPOILERS:Not bad, but nothing special either. It's light, but quite predictable and the same usual things that…
In regards to why Note harassed Meena, my conclusion is that every single character had to either be in Love with Meena or want to do her harm (even no-name characters from her mum's market). Meena is a god in this drama. Every thing in that world revolves around her. I think her character and the actress playing her were the best thing in the show, but damn it was frustrating how every single other character only existed in regards to her.
I am up to Episode three so this is my brief thoughts for those like me, who like to give a show three episodes…
Watched a few more episodes and damn, every character is either in love with the female lead or out to do her harm. And WAY too much time seems to be spent with all these side characters and their plots to make her love them or to do her harm at the expense of time spent with the lead couple. This is not an overstatement. Even cameo characters with no names are anti the female lead. And as the Male lead becomes more tolerable the more intolerable the control freak stalker boi Vee becomes.
you have to consider the time and society in this drama, it was set I think 50s,watch it and you'll get attached…
Well considering there are Thai dramas set in a contemporary time with similar if not worst stuff. FFS there is a few Thai dramas with a 7+ rating on this site that has rape as a seduction technique used by the male lead to "woo" the female lead.
And this drama has such a great ending! It was perfect and make sense and didnt leave any room for something more.…
I have watched the Korean version with it's murky open ending, but have heard the Taiwanese (and Japanese) have a more sad ending. I can deal with the robot "dying" if that is ending here, I do not mind the bittersweet in this case. But I am not interested if the FL is going to end up with the shitty SML who treated her like crap. Could you let me know if when the robot boyfriend "dies", she does not end up with the SML? If she does I will skip the drama.
I am up to Episode three so this is my brief thoughts for those like me, who like to give a show three episodes to draw you in.
The Male lead has the charisma of a brick and I have a plank of wood in my laundry that could act better than him. The female lead seems to be the best actress in the show and even then she is not great, just average. Both Mothers are useless morons and I think a potato could generate more electrical power from its brain cells than both characters combined. No way does this show deserve a 7+ rating. This feels on the same level as a 5+ rated Korean Drama, just with worst acting. Those reviews above giving it 8s and 9s for acting must be on some powerful hallucinogenics.
The premise is interesting enough but the execution is clumsy so far. It feels like it is someones first script that has not gotten past the first draft stage. Both main character's start off pretty unlikeable. The male lead is an arrogant entitled mean-spirited lush and the female lead feels it is ok to commit physical violence against anyone she does gets annoyed with. The female lead character does have a lot of redeeming traits, though not sure the Male Lead has any at all. I am not quite sure why we need TWO supporting characters in love with FL but we have them. I am especially wondering why there is so much love for Vee in the comments, but then I guess since often commenters seem to love rapists and misogynists in other Thai dramas just because they are pretty boys, I should expect the creepy control freak to have his fans here.
And my heart aches at all these almost rape scenes of Kate. I felt insulted and violated being a woman.
I am a man and I think this drama sounds very icky. I like contract marriage dramas but the whole premise of this sounds off. i could not believe the rating it's got, so scrolled down into the comments and am bewildered by the all the comments liking this. Nice to finally see someone ripping into it.
I just can not see how any character involved in selling OR Buying another person, especially to "breed" them can come across as a good guy which means the Male lead starts off as a villain. I do not care if he "falls in love" with the person his family bought to breed with him.
Really? The entire plot revolves around parents SELLING their daughter as a breeder to pay a debt. I think you have a different definition of rape than I do.
Although it is indeed great, but i don't quite feel satisfied with the ending. There was an indication that he…
Thanks, this is what worried me when I saw that the woman who looked like his fiance was the lead. It has an interesting premise but if the male lead is going to end up with the woman who looks like his dead fiance and not the one with the personality of his dead fiance it feels like a wasted premise and an ultimately shallow journey. So I might give this a miss.
This is an interesting premise, but going by the fact the woman who looks like his fiance is the female lead whilst the woman who has a similar personality to his fiance is only listed as 5th in the cast, I can not help but think that this is ultimately rather shallow.
Think both are not very good. Was not a fan of WIL. But as a male who hasn’t acted like a sociopath and has…
Yeah. I think both shows are bad for different reasons. I Hear You is bad because it is so frustrating as you watch the relationship between the ML & FL stand still for 10+ episodes. Whilst WIL is bad because once you hit that twist, you want to stop watching, take a shower, and then start watching another show entirely. Preferably one without the Male Lead tricking a girl he was stalking, who does not know him, into marriage by making her think she has cancer.
I started to feel the same way but it gets better as you go on...Keep going don't stop..It's Just the ending is...........
I have just watched episode 12 and am wondering when do they bloody get together. I like both lead characters, but it is getting frustrating that their relationship is pretty much static for the last 5 episodes.
really? I am used to Chinese Male leads being nasty jerks but I am tired of Chinese Female leads letting them…
In Chinese Dramas the "girl" always sacrifices her pride to allow the jerk to take control. How about the jerk sacrifice his pride for a change and actually apologise for being a jerk. Here (again like in most Chinese dramas) he just forcibly grabs her stuff and expects her to follow him. Not even Thai dramas are as formulaic-ly sexist as Chinese dramas. In fact why is not his sister (her BEST FRIEND) who is rescuing her and giving her shelter). Again to make her in debt to the jerk who kicked her out in the first place.
I realized I finished this drama for the main couple and not the story itself. That's how perfect and natural…
really? I am used to Chinese Male leads being nasty jerks but I am tired of Chinese Female leads letting them being jerks to them. There was NO reason for her to follow the ML home in the 2nd episode other than the fact she was accepting of her place as a doormat.
Wait, WHAT?!? They sleep together??? Brother & sister ...? You're gonna have to explain that one. What do you…
I am from New Zealand and occasionally I would share a bed with my sister during our childhood and our teens (usually when we were on holidays where beds were low in number) and incest was certainly never something that crossed our minds. As an adult male I have also shared a bed numerous times with female friends and nothing sexual happened.
I have only watched the first episode, but is it really a "sweet romcom"? The Male lead (judging from just the…
Thanks for the reply. I will give the second episode a shot. The summary makes it sound like a fun premise but sometimes Korean/Taiwanese/Chinese dramas go a bit too far in making the male character too unlikeable in the first episode that it is difficult to overcome that initial dislike later.
