here's my thoughts about your questions. maybe because muro is a real yakuza and he wants to continue as part of that family which opposite of kanetaka's objective to avenge his lost ones.
and like other guy said what you saw is the flashback.

as i see from the early scene the chances are high that Shion might return to the present time without changing anything if they become couple in the past, so this is what shion want to avoid. but what's the point of returning in the past if she can' t confess her feelings? this might be the one weirder time travel drama that i watched..
