I am sorry but what did Mo Yuanzhi do that the other executives were so against him? They keep saying Mo Yuanzhi's evil doings can't go on? But According to Mo Yuanzhi they conspired with Jiang yuwen to destroy his data?
It's not that JTH had a harder life than SZY, it's just that we weren't shown what SZY suffered properly. I keep…
It is not right to compare tragedies, but since they are fictional, I will indulge. SZY, when the story begins, has already been an official for 10 years; he had an adoptive father and a sister to care for. Yes, his tragedy is deep, but he has had a sense of control over his life for at least 18 years now ( if we are to guess that he got adopted when he was 12). Whereas the FL has always been at the mercy of other people's whims and fancies, even when she becomes SZY's wife and thereafter too. I am just saying it is understandable that she is cautious and has trust issues. I am not familiar with any of the actors, but it didn't feel like he was treated badly or anything. Also, it is called Princess Gambit, so it didn't feel weird that they showed her moves and backstory.
Are there any good angst dramas where the angst makes sense? I also read c-novels but mostly, the male lead will be so hyperfixated on another female character that only when the Female lead dies that he realise oh I got my priorities wrong, while it was silly to begin with. Else the ML will be a psycho who has been torturing the Female lead, but the reader is supposed to love them because they have their tender moments, or because the ML doesn't know how to express his love.
If you ask me, Mulberry Song, Our Second Master and Eastern Palace are my best picks. Eastern Palace ML is bonkers but the novel doesn't force you to love him, so I can happily hate him.
The plot between the Third Prince and the empress is a mess! People are all blaming Jiang Taohua, but to me, it's understandable, though they sometimes stretch it. She never had anyone to trust. She grew up in a far more cruel situation than Shen ZY, and he has even tried to kill her multiple times. Her life is at stake. Her brother's life is at stake. So I can understand her not wanting to yield or submit or trust Shen Zaiye. Just because Shen Zai Ye has regretted and is now in love with her doesn't mean she has to reciprocate it.
This makes sense, but I just wish the screenwriter had written it better. Also when she had no memory, she said she felt a stabbing pain whenever she saw his back. This sounds so lovely because I am an angst lover. But there were barely any scenes where there was genuine affection between them, particularly from her part.
The FL is anything but smart. Why would she go and confront Mu Wu Yin and the evil empress with no plan? Dumbest…
That was a dumb move but and for the plot. But I think Empress Lv is her life's enemy so she might have wanted to stop her from escaping. Calling other capable people will like Shen Zaiye or her brother will deter them from their task and also endanger them.
So the time has come for me to ask you all for recommendations. 1) I loved how clever this drama was, although the green screen in the last few episodes was a distraction. 2) I appreciated how independent and well-developed each character was. 3) I love how intelligent the female lead was; typically, in character-centred dramas, the female lead acts merely as a placeholder or plot device. I enjoy dramas with a touch of romance, and while they could have added a bit more here, it was evident that the male lead and female lead had fallen for each other, so its fine. So, guys, suggest some similar dramas.
Also I have to restrain myself from replying to these Simp comments? Are they all teenagers? Male lead loving the Female lead unconditionally or the Female lead loving the male lead unconditionally even when the other party doesn't act according to their wishes, is the norm. Not to mention this is a makjang where angst is a must. I hope Eunnam and Deongju can get their happily ever after before the finale.
I mean I really like Lu Si so the drama is book marked but tbh her fight or problem with the ML looks very one sided and that makes her look a bit silly lol. I guessed that they have some past connection and he is doing everything to protect her,
