i am at ep 21 ... and the drama is moving in good pace but the drama has completely diverted from where it started…
There is no revenge in this drama. More accurately, it is about how to live wisely despite the adversities and bring justice to the wrongdoers throgh righteous way.
2 episodes in, but I m not getting all the hype for this drama! Looked pretty average in these 2 episodes so far.…
I don't know how you watch the two first episodes. Are you skipping some scenes? For me, episodes 1 and 2 are among the best. They settle the story's foundation, premises, and goals perfectly.
also was it only me or was miao an su and song han not written super well? like for me, i thought song han's motives…
As for Ansu, I hold different understanding. The reasoning behind her drastic act in the end is more complex. The death of his brother is just one of the factors.
If you watch carefully, before Ansu's marriage to Song Han, FL has reminded her about SH's flaws. Despite knowing this, she believes that she can change SH to be a better person. After that, she experiences several dillematic events, unknowing that she is manipulated by SH. The death of her brother is the mind opening/ decisive event that turns her back to FL's side.
Ansu's arc is very interesting, satisfying, and meaningful. Ansu is a strong character. She doesn't let her love to cloud her rational judgement and hinder the necessary action to stop the crime. If she is weak, she might join her husband to support the rebellion, or kill herself after the failed rebellion. But, we don't get such lame ending. Love is not everything, and life must go on.

What you perceived as sudden development might take weeks in the story timeline. Sometimes plot development feels jumpy, because there is not much room to tell all thing for the audience satisfaction. But, it is just our perception.
As I observed, this drama is very good at presenting the course of events and the plot flows smoothly despite its non linear storytelling. The connections of events are well maintained so we don't lose track.
I watched the first 3 eps a few weeks ago and now with Christmas over, I am trying to get back into it. I am not…
The shifting to their bare face without mask is the way of the director to show us, the audience, about their inner self, what they are feeling when meeting one another that are practically hidden under the masks.
This internal states are made known to us the audience to enrich the narration. I think, it serves similarlt like inner monologue which is more cognitive (what they are thinking).
At episode 10, my potential rating for this one is 8.5. It's good but there's too much politics for my taste and…
Drama is limited medium for storytelling. You can't have romance all the time, or politics and family intrigue all the time.
The director is great at arranging how the plot should progress. We have the first 25% episodes are for background and foundation, 25% episodes for warming up the relationship, romance, and marriage, 25% episodes for final arc preparation and the villains are not hidden anymore, and the last 25% for finishing the story, the safe landing, and a happy ending.
If you watch this only for romance and lovey dovey couples, you will disappoint. In this drama, love is not the main purpose, but the source of support and strength to face the challenge together and to live well together after trauma and heartbreak as a cohesive family.
I miss the first batch of people who were watching this show. These later batches some of them just keep ranting…
I agree with you. I miss the time when every day we wait each episode to air, wondering what will happen. When the expectation is minimum, the surprise is so satisfying and it makes us more appreciative to the story.
I am too absorbed to the story, following the English subtitles carefully, and don't pay much attention to the acting skill of the FL.
