wonderful story; light in its delivery but entertaining - lots of dramatics but nothing unbearable - and VERY easy to watch tbh,. (ie you wont feel frustrated by any of the twists and turns, you wont feel irritated by choices/reactions+ no overly dramatic melodrama for the sake of drama)
awesome couple - who look and act comfortable with each other. noone is annoying or stupid without reason. every secondary character is tied to the story directly, thereby not wasting screen time just cuz (as is done often). definitely filmed by a short drama director as this was like watching a short drama but that lasted ages - the editing and story flow was to the point and without any filler or lingering (its not the most immersive experience -BUT this guy made it work) - usually oddly edited scenes that skip certain events feel weird in all those badly edited shows - but this guy made it work very well without taking away from the show. no ffw was even necessary. again thanks to the director for not wasting any of our time on useless secondary couples/characters that usually add nothing to the story but take away time from our main story/characters. definitely recommend this one
props to the ML for pulling of main character very well - hope he stays the main character in his upcoming shows.
I am so satisfied with this ending. All the evil got what they deserved ( although I wanted the Empress to maybe stay with her mamas boy in that tiny room). Do Zhao and Song Mo got a happy ending. I love happy endings!
For me the best Chinese historical of 2024 alongside Legend of Shen Li. One of my favorites of all time for sure, it managed to avoid most tropes I don't like in this genre and kept a good balance between the leads.
It also did a very good job of showing how many people are shaped by their life experiences.
We need more of these dramas where the leads get together and we get to see them facing challenges by supporting each other.
been struggling to finish it cuz its quite boring in the middle
It took me a long time to get into it but that was partly because of watching during the holidays when I was so busy. It had too much going on and I couldn't concentrate. It got better for me once the couple got together. I am more into romance than palace intrigue but I enjoy a smart FL who outwits the corrupted characters. The ending was satisfying.
I've finished this drama with delight. although the ML not that famous, but he really act well in this drama. FL oso gave me a lot of surprises. She cant sing but now she sing well. better that she sing at Wonderland.. Her acting also improves. My fav part is where the ML skid to hug the FL. It was so amazing. Keep it up both FL & ML, i would like to see more of your dramas.
I am really into historical Chinese dramas where the female lead is strong and independent. This is one of them. The female lead is strong, her own person and takes on any challenge. Then you have the male lead who knows when he needs to put his own ego to the side and listen to the FL. They fall in love along the way and then they become a force to recon with. Along the way, they run into many scheming corrupt officials and even family members who want them dead and will stop at nothing but they always have a plan because they work together, which I truly enjoyed. Nevertheless, I binged watched this drama everything about it was really good from the acting, to the chemistry of the main leads, the storylines and the costumes, all was done very well.
In my home country, it's been 2025 for an hour now, but in the country where I am now, it has just arrived. I don't know what other dramas we will meet in the comments, but it was a pleasure to be part of the discussion of this series. I hope that you are all safe and happy now, and may your dreams come true. I love this series immensely. And I feel attached to all of you.
And for the people for whom Blossom was not their cup of tea, I wish they could find their own stories that will bring them a lot of pleasure.
I finished the last four episodes today. I pretty much enjoyed it. The storylines did not keep the same excitement I felt over the first 15 episodes, but overall, it was still such a decent watch.
The camera' works and shots were absolutely captivating, for the first time, the slow motion did not annoy me LOL. The plotline was indeed gripping, plus with well-written characters, every character had their own screen time to shine, however, the side couple took too much screen time which made me feel frustrated.
Finally, the leads' chemistry was unmatched, this motivated me to keep watching.
It was a well balanced drama between cliché and fresh story telling and character building. They wrote amazing feminism /sexism subtext. They did not victimise female characters instead empowered them through their struggles.
