I remember seeing talk this role would've been better done by Leo Wu. (Wonder if anyone would still argue that...) I felt then and still do that LYR occupied the role physically as only a few of his peers could manage. He's obviously not into weight-lifting, as even his bare-chested parts weren't sculpted down to every damn ab. He showed the body of an athlete (which his is/was), and it might be the first time in cdrama I've seen a man displaying a body the character would legitimately have. Lean and long, built for agility and flexibility, not muscle definition.

I think that's also a big reason his fight scenes were believable: he could literally put his whole body into it. Strong leans into/away/around out past his center of gravity but w/out losing balance, full-strength kicks, and turns where he wasn't just spinning, there were legit defense/offense reasons in the fight to do so. I really wouldn't be surprised if he could master the moves easily thanks to his time as a high jumper. You can get the same body-awareness with a dancer, but you'll need an athlete if you want someone who can do that while also communicating the full power behind each move.

stg, I'd almost think the role was written for him. someone get me his next leading role, stat!

Blossom started with a blast and ended as the sweetest gift for viewers.
I could never understand the ending that only implied happiness instead of showing how ML & FL are actually happy together.
I am glad Blossom breaks the weird trend.

It is the perfect 34-episode drama with no draggy and filler scenes.
The drama with way less budget than the high profile dramas competing at the same time but managed to top them all.
The unexpected has become the most loved drama 💜

This drama was aired without any hype and surely was not anyone's most awaited drama.
High rating does not always mean huge popularity or good quality. But Blossom checked all the boxes.
To remain on #1 of Douban TV list real time for 2 weeks is very difficult, since the ranking is updated every hour, but Blossom did it.
The Dark Horse 2024.
The unexpected has become the winner and winning with a satisfying ending.

Thank you Producer, Director, scriptwriter and all crew. Thank you Meng Ziyi, Li Yunrui and all castline.

Just finished. What a great drama! I hope everyone watched until the very end of Ep34. Don't skip the ending song and extra scene with little daughter!

Blossom is a rare gem in the world of historical cdramas, blending heartfelt emotion with intricate storytelling. From the first episode to the last, the series captivated us with its powerful portrayal of resilience, love, and the triumph of the human spirit against adversity.

For me, what sets Blossom apart from other recent historical cdrama I've watched is its meticulous attention to detail. The period-appropriate costumes and breathtaking cinematography transport viewers to a bygone era, while the carefully crafted plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. The subplots, from Dou Zhao’s struggles with her stepmother and the Dou family to Song Mo’s quest for justice, are interwoven seamlessly, creating a rich tapestry of interconnected stories.

Our main leads, Dou Zhao and Song Mo, are portrayed with depth and authenticity, their relationship evolving from mutual suspicion to a profound partnership. The writers have managed to skillfully develop their backstories and motivations, making their journey compelling and relatable. The supporting characters were equally well-developed, each contributing significantly to the narrative's overall richness. Even tho some characters' arcs like Song Han's were hard to digest I could see why they were deemed necessary!

Honestly, Blossom is not just a drama, it’s an emotional experience! It’s a story of finding hope in despair, strength in vulnerability, and love in the most unexpected places. Whether you're a fan of historical dramas or just looking for a story that will stay with you long after the credits roll, Blossom is an absolute must-watch!

Why is it still 8.8?
The last 5 episodes are truly amazing and show the director's great and hard works in producing this drama.
And this drama is actually an A-grade drama and is already this good, on par with elite dramas if not more.
The director definitely spent the budget wisely. With only few songs for this drama, the director played with lights, sounds, fading screen and long panoramic shot to support the dramatic scenes, while other dramas have famous singers singing their OSTs.
It deserves at least 9.0
It is this good.

I am praying for the second one to be good as well. If the 2nd is also bad then it's like all the last hope will be pinned on Cheng Yi. So much pressure 😭

If the story is as bad as Red Moon Pack, at least ChengYi would make up for his awesome fighting scenes, basing it from the preview I saw. Please let this be good.

this drama was a very big misstep for the production company. it's meant to create hype for the next two instalments but both the viewership and critical acclaim are poor. I think maybe the one with Chengyi is in better shape since he has a big fanbase and can carry the initial viewership, but I'm worried for the next one with Liu Shishi..

I hope they don't screw up the other two's scripts cos I can't bear to see all of them become flops, especially the one with Cheng Yi 😭😭😭

For your information, I'm Cheng Yi's hardcore fan and as far as I know, he never disappoint us with his versatile acting skills.

Haha...nothing make sense!! It's driving me crazy. I guess I can use the next three days to try and recover.

They really did the cast and story dirty!!! I am going to flip a lid if FSMM 2&3 has better editing and no plot holes.

Yuechu is the ONLY one who uses his brain. The villains in here aren't even that smart.

I am so embarrassed for this screen writer. Is that the ONLY way the writer knows how to show that two people love each other? To die for each other and transfer powers to one another?! We've seen HongHong and YueChu do that a hundred times yet there's never a really good romance scene between them like normal couples. Like those really good memorable ones. Why?!!! It's so much easier to film cute lovey scenes than fight scenes. I'm so frustrated with this drama but YueChuuu....I'm still here. Haha.❤️🤔
