Personally i dont think he gave in. If he gave in, he would have committed suicide from the beginning. He just want to choose and enjoy his own way of (new) life, the free and simple one. Not busy looking for cure etc. which only drain his time and energy, with no certainty of the result since the bicha is the deadliest in the world and known for no antidote.

Its like nowadays senior ppl who decide not to get cancer stadium4 treatments and rather choose to enjoy life more ☺️

And for giving the styx flower to the king, if we were him, wont we do the same thing? Can we sacrifice the peace of the country and a lot of people’s lives just for the sake of our own life? 😉

i actually really like the ending and would prefer not to have a second season, i feel like a special hour long extra episode would be fitting but i can't really imagine a whole season where they go on and solve more cases. after all, LLH doesn't want to be forced into jianghu and his heart is mostly at peace at the end. FDB is on his way to becoming #1 (which LLH keeps hinting at). DFS unlocked the 8th level (or whatever it is called) but doesn't want to battle FDB since "no one can replace LXY". Even if LLH finds a cure, he wants to wander alone and live peacefully.

Xuanye and Ranqing's love story in just one episode is absolutely EPIC! Heart-rending. 😭

I have to admit... I really loved the love story between Xuanye and Ranqing's than their son's. it was such an epic and unique story. I wish it was more than one episode. also Cheng Yi is absolutely gorgeous in Xuanye hair style and character. he has a whole other aura!

U could watch :
1. Nirvana in Fire(similar vibes nd premise, serious nd political, top tier),
2. Blood of youth(similar character dynamics),
3. I am nobody(funny, cool fight scenes)
All have negligible romance nd great friendships.

I went nd watched blood of youth to get over my pining nd it was good so now im back to rewatch MLC again nd pretend its a new show :)))

Might be an unpopular opinion, but damn.....It was one of the rarest and rarest drama where I did the least skipping and felt emotionally content and overwhelmed as well. Following are the things to consider if this might be a good drama for you as well:

If you like a lot of skinship and kisses and all then its not for you.
If you want to watch a drama with a quite heavy plot, here and there fights, plotting all over the place among this and that, conquering each other territories then this drama is not for you.

Things which were to my liking in the drama were:
The emotional touch that the main leads had, I personally loved it, the helplessness of the king, completely alone even in the crowd, not being able to trust anyone, and then suddenly a light of hope drops in your life. This drama focuses a lot on emotional quotient which is the thing I like a lot.
There are not many side stories (i hate side stories), the whole show runs on the same plot, all the characters run after the same plot nothing unnecessary.

There are a lot of things i can say about this drama but it will be too long, but if you wanna know anything feel free to ask, because I liked the drama toooo much and won't mind talking about it.
