I can't agree with your - "graduates from this genre into other genres because he can really deliver" - you make…
If you can't see how Not Me is not really a BL then I can't really change your mind. The idea of BL is to idealize romance between two men/boys often with one being "straight" falling for another boy and it is mostly marketed to women (straight women at that) and the whole main issue revolves around said romance. For Not Me, the romance was a subplot. The drama focused on the struggles of the LGBTQAI+ community and the struggles of people with disabilities; it was about power imbalance in countries and how the rich could get away with a lot while the common people suffered. It centered itself around these social-economical struggles. It was about a coming of AGE story that happened to have some characters fall in love. That it was four boys who never labeled themselves as Gay or Straight or anything in between is another reason why this was in line with LGBTQAI+ media. Also, BLs are just as SUBGENRE of LGBTQAI content but don't go too into it because they want to focus on just the romance aspect.
I don't see the point you are making by saying it was marketed as BL when the drama barely got any real marketing to begin with ( a major complaint by offgun shippers too). But sure let's agree to disagree.

Also Not Me isn't really BL. That's more in line with LGBTQAI+ with a Bl element. With KP (I won't say anything because my opion on it would upset the fandom)

BLs are just a genre, nothing about them is bad, or that acting in them means that is bad. Actors want to diversify their portfolios just like any artist. Just because I said he should go into other Genres, doesn't mean he can stop doing BL or actings as a Queer character. Queer characters exist outside of the BL genre. I simply stated I want him to do more than just what he has done. Taking on action roles, taking on sci-fi roles, etc. Do you think that he should only do BLs? I just want him to get the chance to do a lot more. There are many actors in the BL world who also branch out and act in other things, I want the same thing for Seng.
So glad to see people praising Seng! I've been saying it since WHY R U how great he is and he really keeps improving! I hope he graduates from this genre into other genres because he can really deliver! There is so much range in this kid and I do hope he can get to shine more.
None of these girls are praiseworthy, but I do enjoy their characters and their flaws. Even Mary-sue Meen is not without faults.
I am now certain that Pal is the one behind everything (or perhaps her brother/relative) this new character that popped up (and popped May's cherry lol) now wants her to get information from WanWan's computer. and the fact that Pal and Win dated and his accident happened after Pal's death...too coincidental.
really dig the two episodes a week. If this had been one episode a week, it would have made things seem draggy.
That WanWan deserves that. An envious backstabber, she is.As for Non, the way he want to stick with Meen seem…
Meen is the 'ideal' wife so his grandmother would not approve of another type of girl for him. Meen is what you call Wife material, whereas for him WanWan is a sidepiece. Simple as that! WanWan may have had a crush on him when they were in school, but he was obviously never into her. She put herself in that position tbh because she was envious of Meen. The same with May, she too got together with Pitch despite having a crush on him when she knew that he was with Meen.
They just streamed a trailer for it this morning. I am so excited. I watched the 2017 one, but not sure if this will have some call-backs to it. Also Fiat, Saint, and Mark in one place...sign me up....and one of my faves of all time PINGPONG! I love him!
In Golden Blood there was a scene where they went to eat (the group of firends + the body guard) it looked sort of similar to this. But this cafe does look like it could be in many BLs lol.
About this drama, the problem isn't the acting. Even the most seasoned actor(s) would have trouble selling this story to me [emphasis on the ME part]. The issue is the script. It is lacking! No matter how much you like the actors and the story's premise if the script lacks so much explanation, too many plot holes, and characters that aren't behaving "human", you will lose many viewers.
We were barely introduced to these two boys and we are supposed to root for them? It's been four episodes and still, I don't know why! We as viewers are being asked to forget about the plot of the story, which is four boys exchanging "souls" in a way and living each other's lives in different universes. Yet, for some reason, everyone seems to accept this willy-nilly and no one questions the total 180 changes in characteristics/behaviors of these boys.
If you and I were to transmigrate/swap boys etc, not only would we be freaking out (and more than likely be put in a mental hospital) we would also try everything in our powers to find a way back and also not ruin the life of the person's whose body we took over. Sure you can argue that Talay and Puen are doing okay by living the lives of Tun and Tess, but there should be more conflict and mistrust among the people around them. There isn't any sense of urgency for them to get back, which makes it odd and why I don't buy it. Any "normal" human would not be this complacent with just taking it one day at a time, which is what this feels like. Do these two not want to see their family again? Are they that unhappy with their other lives?
I'm hoping that in the next two episodes we get a move on the plot. What I would like to see is that with Puen they sell it as him finally being able to do what he wants since he isn't tied to his career as an actor and not wanting to go back to his old life. They could make the conflict be that once both find out they are each other's portkey, that Puen doesn't want to go back and tries to show Talay that staying would be an option for them.
Anyways, the episode wasn't bad, just didn't do much to move the plot/story along. I wish it did just so we have something substantive.
I've always had a soft spot for Seng, I think he is one of the few actors who really enjoys acting and comes through in his roles because he really becomes them. I wonder how much his character was used "sexually" or assaulted for him to get far ahead in his career. The fact that he has these codes/gestures with his manager leads me to believe that something happened to him with some higherup and they came up with these gestures to get him out of messy situations. Also, he doesn't like being touched but actively looks for Billy's character, which shows that he isn't a germaphobe but doesn't like certain people to touch him.
This was a good first episode, lacking some character background, but pretty much better than I expected.
