Oh wow, thanks to some of yall's comments, I went to rewatch episode 1 and realised Lin Yan isn't their ancestor. They…
These are Shen Shao Guang’s words (WeTV subs) when she first introduced and narrated their story — from the first 2 mins of episode 1: “We have had a farcical story with our ancestor... the ancestor we thought we had.” So yeah, not really their ancestor.
I agree with you about the sometimes anticlimactic acting from both leads, they are great at portraiting their…
I get what you’re saying, but honestly, I don’t think it’s on Wang Yinglu’s acting — if you’ve seen her in 12 Letters, you’ll know she can really deliver when the role calls for it. I feel like it might’ve been more of a directing choice in WDBTD. Maybe they just didn’t push for that kind of intensity in those moments — same goes for Arthur.
After finishing the Korean version I will give this a second chance but can someone tell me who have watched both…
The OG extra scene ending is nicely realistic and happy because it acknowledges or takes into account that ML had met or knew the FL when they were young. At least, in this extra scene, it hints that they've been keeping in touch all along. This leaves us with the impression that they'll eventually be together, which is a lovely way to conclude their story.
He has always been pushing them together since he realized they were destined to be enemies but Jing could stay…
Jing didn't deny anything, he also wasn't entirely sure if something did happen. Remember when XY found out about the pregnancy, she thought to herself that if Jing shook his head or denied it, she'd believe him. But Jing was unsure because his granny had drugged him. So XY thought that the potion was meant to make Jing lustful and that something might have happened against his will.

In the same ep, XY tells Jing that she had a moment of regret when she was on the brink of death. She questioned whether her promise to him outweighed her own life. But, when he saved her, all her doubts vanished. She also clarifies that she turned down XL’s "kiss" because she had vowed to Jing not to let another man into her heart (15-year promise)
I have a question:There are two groups of people: one believes that XY loves XL deeply, while the other thinks…
I feel like XY loves TSJ romantically, while her relationship with XL is more platonic. Yes, she has a strong bond and affection for XL as they share interests and activities, but she lacks romantic desires for him. Romantic love often forms the basis for deeper connections, like marriage or starting a family. This is clearly shown from the start of the drama, as XY shows typical signs of being romantically interested in TSJ. For instance, she gets jealous, asks Jing which of his maids is prettier, initiates physical contact with him, and expresses a desire to spend the rest of her life with him.
people kept saying Xiang Liu is an abusive lover, but I believe that gentle and caring being when he and XY are…
You know, XL can be a bit of a tough cookie. It's really difficult to dismiss the way he can become physically aggressive with XY. He's got this quick temper and honestly, he can be somewhat unpredictable. He genuinely tries to tame his violent tendencies, but it feels like it's part of who he is. Sure, there are times when he's sweet and all, but I just can't overlook or romanticize the moments when he gets violent. The truth is, relationships like these can be a real mess - you have someone telling you they love you one moment and then causing you pain the next. A word of caution for all my ladies: remember - you deserve what you tolerate.
Before I ask this question, just want to say that XL is my FAVE character (even though I'm happy to hear that…
For me, choosing between Taushan Jing and Xiang Lu really depends on what you're into, which can change as you grow older. Like, ten years ago, I would've gone for Xiang Lu in a heartbeat because let's face it, we all had a thing for the 'bad boys' when we were younger. We thought love could change them, or maybe they'd change for us. It was exciting, thrilling even. But as you get older, you start to want something more solid, something that's going to stick around. A relationship that's built on trust and respect, not just love. In real life, you'll bump into plenty of Xiang Lus, but finding a Jing is a bit tougher. And once you find him, there's no doubt about it - Jing is a keeper for sure.
They did get the liberation that they were looking for. The speed in which it arrived and the degree of "liberation",…
Agree 100% Not sure what others were expecting but the ending made sense as they were all able to get their form of liberation, one way or another. It ended positively with glimmer of hope, contentment & happiness, that we know everything’s gonna be alright for our favorite characters
