Haha to be honest i didnt notice them until you pointed them out. I used to watch a lot of korean dramas where the guys put a ton of eyeliner so i am quite desensitized to the androgynous look. I did however really dislike the scene where he let his hair down to give her some hair ornament. That reminded me too much of Sha Qian Mo from Hua Qian Gu.

Episode 7 - Chun Hua is trapped in Chuan Qi Valley, Shang Guan Qiu Yue saves her

Feng Cai Cai sealed Chun Hua's acupoints and brought her to the woods outside the city to meet with her father Feng Tang. Feng Tang and his lackeys brought Chun Hua away to meet with Fu Lou. Feng Tang planned to not have any further dealings with Fu Lou after handing Chun Hua to him, but they ended up in a disagreement and started fighting with each other. Feng Tang was not a match for Fu Lou and escaped. Fu Lou was about to lay his hands on Chun Hua when one of Feng Tang's lackeys faced him down. This person was Shang Guan Qiu Yue in disguise. Chun Hua called him 'Brother!' in excitement after realising it was him. Shang Guan Qiu Yue ignored her and left by himself. Fu Lou immediately understood that Shang Guan Qiu Yue has a sister and decided to bring Chun Hua back to Chuan Qi Valley. On the way back, he realised that Feng Cai Cai was tailing them and knocked her out before bringing her back as well.

After they woke up, Feng Cai Cai and Chun Hua decided to escape but were found out by Fu Lou. Fu Lou knocked out Feng Cai Cai again and forced Chun Hua to tell him how she was related to Xiao Bai. In her desperation, Chun Hua told her that they were relatives. Fu Lou strangled Chun Hua in his anger and forced her to tell him what kind of relative will make the Healing Sage let her eat the Longevity Fruit; Chun Hua had no choice but to tell him that she is Xiao Bai's fiancee. Suddenly, one of the servants came to report that Madam You Xi was looking for Fu Lou and thus he had no choice but to leave first. When Chun Hua was examining the unconscious Feng Cai Cai on the floor, someone suddenly pulled her from behind and it turned out to be Shang Guan Qiu Yue. He hugged her and Chun Hua cried that her arm was broken; Shang Guan Qiu Yue immediately helped her to heal her injuries. Chun Hua was angry that Shang Guan Qiu Yue abandoned her and left by himself. Shang Guan Qiu Yue explained that he abandoned Chun Hua so as to let Fu Lou think that Chun Hua wasn't important at all to him, so that he wouldn't kill her. Chun Hua said that she will 'molest/be intimate with' him once she is better and Shang Guan Qiu Yue said that she can do it now. Then he kissed her. Chun Hua was startled and Shang Guan Qiu Yue caressed her hair before reassuring her. After verifying that Chun Hua was okay, he planned to leave again and Chun Hua wanted him to bring her with him. Qiu Yue told her to seek help from Madam You Si. Subsequently, Chun Hua found Madam You Si and told her that Fu Lou was keeping them in captivity and wanted to kill them. Madam You Si said that Fu Lou will never do such a thing and prepared a carriage to send Chun Hua and Feng Cai Cai out. As Fu Lou was not in the valley then, the servants had no choice but to listen to their mistress and sent them all the way to the valley entrance. While they were bidding farewell to Madam You Si, Fu Lou happened to return. However, so as not to upset his wife, Fu Lou did not force Chun Hua to stay. Chun Hua quickly left in the carriage.

After reaching the forest, the carriage stopped moving and Chun Hua was trapped. At that moment, Shang Guan Qiu Yue appeared and wanted to bring Chun Hua away. However, Chun Hua couldn't bear to abandon the injured Feng Cai Cia and sought his help. Shang Guan Qiu Yue was unwilling to help Feng Cai Cai but eventually relented and handed her a pill to feed to Feng Cai Cai. After taking the pill, Feng Cai Cai regained consciousness quickly. They quickly headed back to the inn so as not to let Xiao Bai worry. On the way back, Feng Cai Cai and Chun Hua reconciled their differences but Feng Cai Cai was still suspicious of Chun Hua. Chun Hua pointed out that her father was the suspicious one for siding with Fu Lou. Feng Cai Cai promised to find out the truth from her father.

After meeting with Xiao Bai, Chun Hua claimed that they were out for a stroll. Feng Cai Cai explained that maybe she heard wrongly when she claimed that she heard Chun Hua impersonating someone else's voice so as to eliminate any suspicions that Xiao Bai had of Chun Hua.

Episode 7 synopsis below for anyone interested

I think maybe you have too high expectations for this drama. It's meant to be a rather light-hearted watch and shouldn't be taken too seriously. For the ML, I don't think they were trying to create another Gong Zi in Bloody Romance. I read somewhere that despite Qiu Yue being a cold-blood killer, he is actually very innocent and naive when it comes to romance and kinship probably because he has always been starved of affection. As such, he was drawn to Chun Hua but didn't even realise that he fell in love with her as he didn't know what love was. I agree with you that Xiao Bai's acting really needs improvement and he has zero chemistry with the FL, however it works in this drama since we are supposed to prefer the FL and ML couple anyway. As for the FL, I think her acting is pretty decent for her age. If you look at the upcoming previews, you may find that her acting range is greater than you think. I also disagree that there is non existent romance up until the 20th episode. The romance may be a bit one-sided (as the FL hasn't fully realised her own feelings) but the chemistry between the FL and ML is superb and they have quite a lot of cute scenes together.
However, I must admit that the overall quality of the drama is not the best (its storyline is pretty meh after all) and it may not appeal to everyone. I am mainly watching it cos i love the couple.

Yeah it's possible the part where Zhao Yao kills Li Chen Lan is just an illusion or some sort of hallucination that Li Chen Lan had.

Yeah the ending is super confusing even if you understand Chinese. My take on this is that they were trying to follow the visual novel kind of ending where there are multiple endings. You can roughly track which ending it is based on what Zhao Yao is wearing, staring from after Jin Xian is killed in Episode 55 (in the order below).

Ending 1 (Normal/Bad Ending): Li Chen Lan goes crazy/demonic and tries to kill everyone. Zhao Yao has no choice but to kill Li Chen Lan who falls into some abyss.

Ending 2 (I think this is the true ending because the epilogues for the other characters were shown here): Li Chen Lan goes into seclusion by himself with the Liu He Tian Yi Sword for 5 years to seal off the Wan Jun Sword while Zhao Yao waits for him outside all dressed in white. After 5 years, Zhao Yao visits many of the side characters whose epilogues are shown. At the place where Li Chen Lan is 'sealed', the Liu He Tian Yi Sword is shown to reappear so it is heavily implied that Li Chen Lan will reunite with Zhao Yao.

Ending 3 (Good Ending): Li Chen Lan manages to seal off the Wan Ju Sword with Zhao Yao. They are shown to be happy and have two kids.

Then again, all these 3 endings could just be one big confusing ending that doesn't make sense.

I guess the kids thing was more of personal preference because i think they were trying to say that the kids were carbon copies of them, both in personalities and looks, which was something mentioned in the novel, but for me the feel of the whole scene was just off and i was so used to seeing those two as a couple.

It's a good ending, but a very dubious potentially open one.
