Personally i was quite disappointed that QY didn't regain his internal energy. In the novel, he regained all his internal energy and he remained Qian Yue Cave's leader instead of retiring into seclusion with Chun Hua.

Haha yeah I was considering that too. I might try it too afterwards (:

The drama was actually very faithful to the ending of the novel. Many of the lines were replicated word by word. It really wasn't that satisfying either in the novel. However, the author did release side story chapters that mention their children.

Episode 40: Only Qiu Yue or Xiao Bai can save Chun Hua with their internal energy. However, whoever uses their internal energy to save her will lose their martial arts. Chun Hua will die in one hour if she doesn't receive the internal energy. Qiu Yue saves Chun Hua without any hesitation. Li Yu and Leng Ning tells Xiao Bai to kill Qiu Yue, but Feng Cai Cai knows that Xiao Bai would not do that as Qiu Yue is currently saving someone. Xiao Bai walks desolately into the courtyard and thinks of Chun Hua asking him how he will choose between her and the pugilistic world. He always said he will never let that situation happen, but in the end he still abandoned her.

Chun Hua is brought back to the Feng Ming Manor to recuperate by Qin Liu Feng, while Ye Yan rescued Qiu Yue. Chun Hua gathers her belongings and bids farewell to Xiao Bai, hugging him at the end. Chun Hua goes to the flower meadow to look for Qiu Yue but Qiu Yue is cold towards him and said he doesn't need her anymore. Qiu Yue is wearing a huge cloak and says he is cold. Chun Hua eventually removes the hood and sees that Qiu Yue's hair has turned white but she assures him that she will get used to it. Qiu Yue initially thought that Chun Hua was staying with him out of pity but Chun Hua really wants to spend her life with her. Qiu Yue is worried that they will become like Fu Lou and You Si but Chun Hua assures him they are not them. Qiu Yue promises to never leave Chun Hua and they go home together.

It is revealed at the end that Qiu Yue gave Chun Hua her name.

Episode 39: Xiao Bai brings everyone to attend the banquet set up by Bu Er. Bu Er thanks them for their efforts investigating the Healing Sage's death. He keeps encouraging everyone to dig in but no one touches the food. The conversation moves to the Longevity Fruit. Bu Er accidentally lets slip the fact that he knows that the Longevity Fruit is fake. Qin Liu Feng wanted to probe further but Bu Er tries to distract them by mentioning out Chun Hua left with Qiu Yue previously yet returned to Xiao Bai again. Bu Er tries to get them to eat again and Feng Cai Cai points out that the food is drugged. Qin Liu Feng gets a bird to try the food and the bird immediately lies limply in his hand. Bu Er tries to push the blame to Li Yu for drugging the food. However, Leng Ning throws the accounting books at him and points out that Bu Er used to be poor, yet suddenly had a windfall. Bu Er claims that just the accounting books alone cannot prove he is Mr Shi. Li Yu suddenly recalls the hint given to him by Qiu Yue and they go to the third pillar at the walkway which contains gold. However, the people in the room have become poisoned. Li Yu warns Xiao Bai about entering the room so Xiao Bai did not become poisoned. It turns out that Bu Er poisoned the incense (Gu Wan gave him the poison) and he ran out of the antidote already.

Suddenly, Qiu Yue appears and points out everything occurred due to Bu Er's greed. That day he poisoned the Healing Sage with the chemicals used to make human puppets, which can make one numb. This allowed Feng Cai Cai's dad to knock out the Healing Sage in one blow (despite being similar in martial arts strength). Bu Er then stabbed the Healing Sage in his rage. [I think the logic is a bit strange in this scene >.<] Qiu Yue witnessed all this and instigated Bu Er to use the Longevity Fruit to make money. He then further sow discord between Feng Ming Manor and Qian Yue Cave.

Currently, many martial arts sects are coming here to take out Xiao Bai as they think Qiu Yue will make a better leader of the pugilistic world. Xiao Bai has also arranged his own allies to congregate here. Xiao Bai and Qiu Yue start fighting. Meanwhile, Qin Liu Feng discovers that Chun Hua's poison has activated and she is dying.

I sneaked a peak and it's a HE! Basically the last scene in the ending song.

I skimmed through the book briefly and didnt read it cos QY seemed even more evil. I think it's even less romantic than the drama.

I recently updated my list so you can take a look and I almost always watch HE too haha. Unless like I watch it while the drama is ongoing and then it has a bad ending >.< Also, I have a very bad habit of fast forwarding through dramas which I don't count as completed so I have actually watched more dramas than what is in my list -_-. Hmm I started Go Go Squid yesterday so don't think I will be watching a new xianxia or wu xia anytime soon, but I will most probably watch Young Blood after that (not sure if this has subtitles though cos it's very niche) or Love and Destiny.

Personally I wasn't very disappointed with QY in this episode, because he has always been scheming throughout and already indirectly caused the deaths of many people (e.g. the Hua family and that massacre during the auction). In comparison, this didn't seem as serious (although this definitely came back to haunt him later in ep 33 when CH fell out with him over his scheming). XB however was more scheming than I expected. I really am not sure what he was trying to achieve by asking FL to go the next day; did he just really want FL dead? At first, I thought he only wanted to destroy the Longevity Fruit. Haha if you watch ep 25 and 26 with subs, you will definitely dislike XB even more. On a side note, I can't wait for tomorrow's final 2 episodes. Praying for good ending!

Although they left it slightly open to hint at a season 3 but I thought the ending was very satisfying compared to season 1's ending. Nope, I heard the romance isn't the focus of the story so I didn't feel like starting it. If you want to watch xianxia or wuxia with romance as the focus, you can try The Legends or The Eternal Love (not Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms). If you like seeing the couple again, you can try Prodigy Healer but I don't think it's that good as the guy doesn't seem as devoted.

Yeah I agree that the actor is quite wooden in his acting and seems rather inexperienced. For the red eyes bit, I am not sure how it works but it's because he was lacking that stone that QY's mother gave XB's dad. My theory is that maybe the stone counteracts the demonic nature of the last stroke of the Feng Ming Swordplay. The drama also mentioned that if he never uses the Feng Ming Sabre again, he will not turn 'evil' even without the stone.

I think it's because no matter what XB does or what is the outcome, XB always had good intentions. Most importantly, he seems to feel guilt when things go awry. The same can't be said for QY who is pretty morally ambiguous and has no qualms resorting to whatever means necessary to achieve his objectives.

CH is angry at XB and QLF for making use of her to lure QY out. She points out that XB is willing to do anything in order to get rid of the "Demonic" sect and she wonders if one day she will become one of the many names on the "Wordless Tablet/Plaque" (the one in the study that the Xiao Family prays to out of guilt). She confronts XB about using her as part of his plan to get rid of QY. XB says that not everyone can mend their ways and become good so sometimes one will have to make a choice (to kill them) to ensure the safety of the pugilistic world. However, he says that he did not have the intention to kill QY this time as he thinks that QY has the antidote to the poison that CH is afflicted with. XB declares his love to CH again and promises that he will cure her of the poison. [To be honest I think this part is boring lol]

Episode 33: Xiao Bai is relieved after hearing that Chun Hua is okay but after thinking that she is most likely currently with Qiu Yue, he goes berserk and wants to kill Chun Hua so as to bury her in his ancestral tomb. Feng Cai Cai knocks him out. Meanwhile, Chun Hua confronts Qiu Yue about all the plotting he has done thus far and all the deaths he has caused, including how he tried to make use of her to steal the manual right at the start. All that has transpired thus far causes Chun Hua to be utterly disappointed in Qiu Yue. Chun Hua is determined to leave Qiu Yue. As they are leaving, they see Ye Yan with Gu Wan's corpse (it turned out that Gu Wan told Chun Hua everything as the last thing he could do for Ye Yan, presumably to help Ye Yan get rid of Qiu Yue's love interest). Qiu Yue tries to kill Ye Yan as she lied to him about Gu Wan's death and caused Chun Hua to leave. Chun Hua stops him and tells him that Ye Yan is the only person he has left. Qiu Yue tells her that he has always been alone. He ultimately decides to spare Ye Yan.

Episode 34: Qiu Yue brings Chun Hua to the market and tells her that she will meet Qin Liu Feng if she walks down the street. He is reluctant to let Chun Hua leave and repeatedly tells Chun Hua how much he likes her, then kisses her. Chun Hua suddenly clutches her chest in pain and Qiu Yue sees the red lotus flower on her palm which is a sign that she is poisoned by the" Hundred Flower Trials", which has no antidote. Chun Hua leaves despite realising this. When Qiu Yue returns, Ye Yan tells him that someone poisoned by the "Hundred Flower Trials" will feels incredible pain everytime he/she feels love. It was Gu Wan that poisoned Chun Hua; Qiu Yue is convinced that Chun Hua still loves him. Chun Hua goes back to Feng Ming Manor with Qin Liu Feng and after some discussion they realise that the "Xuan Ice Stone" that Xiao Bai returned to Qiu Yue is probably what is causing him to go crazy. After Xiao Bai wakes up, he is very happy to see Chun Hua and hugs her. Chun Hua wants to get the Xuan Ice Stone for Xiao Bai but Xiao Bai goes crazy realising that she must be going back to Qiu Yue and throws her on the bed. Qiu Yue saves Chun Hua and brings her back.

Episode 35: Chun Hua agrees to stay with Qiu Yue if he gives her the stone. Qiu Yue kisses her again and Chun Hua clutches her chest in pain. Qiu Yue looks at her palm and realises that the lotus flower has become redder, which shows that Chun Hua still loves Qiu Yue. After getting the stone, Xiao Bai recovers and hugs Chun Hua. They go out to eat at a restaurant to celebrate. Chun Hua senses that Xiao Bai is hiding things from her and feels a bit sad so she goes out for a walk. In the forest, she meets Qiu Yue who has come to take her away, after some bargaining, Qiu Yue decides to take her away after five days. Chun Hua asks Qiu Yue how much he loves her: he says a bit more than yesterday, a bit less than tomorrow. Meanwhile, it turns out that Li Yu is under Qiu Yue's control, while Xiao Bai and co. are busy investigating accounting records to track how much money Bu Er (i.e. the Healing Sage's brother) has, since he (who is potentially Mr Shi) must has earned a lot from the Longevity Fruit's auction.

Episode 36: Feng Cai Cai managed to gather all the accounting records of the Eight Immortals City and everyone is impressed at her capabilities. Meanwhile, Chun Hua faints and everyone discovers that she is poisoned. Xiao Bai suspects that Qiu Yue was the one who poisoned her. Qin LIu Feng and Leng Ning meet Ye Yan on the street and it turns out that Ye Yan is Qin Liu Feng's cousin (O.O). If Qiu Yue had not saved Ye Yan, Ye Yan would have already died. Ye Yan tells Qin Liu Feng about the Hundred Flowers Trials. Feng Cai Cai gives Chun Hua the Snow Lotus Seed and tells Chun Hua that she wishes for her and Xiao Bai to be happy together. Qiu Yue appears in Chun Hua's room and hugs Chun Hua from behind. Chun Hua feels pain again and her groans attracts Xiao Bai's attention who gets Feng Cai Cai to go into her room to check on her. Chun Hua hastily hides Qiu Yue on her bed. Feng Cai Cai sees Qiu Yue's boots on her bed but doesn't say anything. Before leaving, Qiu Yue tells Chun Hua that Li Yu is not Mr Shi and Bu Er will invite them to a feast in three days so as to drug them all. Chun Hua realises that Bu Er probably hid all the money somewhere accessible like his manor and they all begin to look around in his manor.

Episode 37: Chun Hua meets Qiu Yue in the jewelry shop where he is buying a pair of jade pendants for them. Chun Hua hastily pays for them as she is worried that other people will discover Qiu Yue. Chun Hua is worried about Qiu Yue and asks Feng Cai Cai and Leng Ning to accompany her for tea while she sneaks out to warn Qiu Yue in the forest. This inadvertently causes everyone to know about Qiu Yue's whereabouts, including Leng Ning's dad who was tailing her. Qiu Yue reveals everything that Leng Ning's dad did and injures him fatally. Meanwhile, Xiao Bai reaches the scene and injures Qiu Yue, causing him to vomit blood. Qiu Yue thinks that Chun Hua revealed his whereabouts to everyone and throws his hair pin on the floor desolately (basically it's the one that causes Chun Hua to recognise that he is the first man he saw). Chun Hua is heartbroken as Ye Yan saves Qiu Yue.

Episode 38: Chun Hua keeps worrying about whether Qiu Yue is okay and is unable to sleep. Meanwhile, Ye Yan helps Qiu Yue to recover from his injuries. Chun Hua meets Qiu Yue who is impersonating someone else but he just walks right past her without acknowledging her. Chun Hua is heartbroken and convinced that he hates her and she will never see him again.

Sorry guys I was too traumatised yesterday after watching episodes 33-38. I will reply to this comment within the hour with the newest synopses.

You can actually just google for the drama in Chinese. There are other websites available such as QDrama for instance.

When I skimmed through the novel, I read somewhere where he said he poisoned her and he will help her cure the poison if she goes back to him (someone who has read the whole novel please correct me if I am wrong). However, I don't think this will happen in the drama judging from Qiu Yue's reaction in one of the recent episode previews.
