Sometimes I think about how revolutionary this show is. Especially for the older generation, who could not even…
i never thought of it like that and yeah it's definitely a step in the right direction. idk if it'll pave the way for more mature bls cause it's one of its kind.
this is the plot of 'childhood's end' by arthur c. clarke (the book vegas was reading):
The story follows the peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious Overlords, whose arrival begins decades of apparent utopia under indirect alien rule, at the cost of human identity and culture. In the midst of the US-Soviet rivalry for space, unknown spaceships appear over all major cities on Earth, ending the race. Spaceship crews avoid showing their faces, but they bring peace, well-being and security to humans. Unknown visitors to the planet have advanced technology to such an extent that their abilities are like magic to the human eye. Resistance to their will and determination is useless. Although their ultimate goal is hidden from humanity, they are openly helping the earth and its inhabitants, and even fighting violence against animals.
some quotes from the book:
"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
āNo utopia can ever give satisfaction to everyone, all the time. As their material conditions improve, men raise their sights and become discontented with power and possessions that once would have seemed beyond their wildest dreams. And even when the external world has granted all it can, there still remain the searchings of the mind and the longings of the heart.ā
āThere were some things that only time could cure. Evil men could be destroyed, but nothing could be done with good men who were deluded.ā
if you have been paying attention, you would have noticed all the subtle ways the show has hinted towards vegaspete. i'm only talking about the show not the novel so keep that in mind. in my opinion, vegas has always been somewhat intrigued by pete. pete's tenacity, his determination, his loyalty, his optimism, these are things that vegas does not understand. these are the things that vegas is attracted to. very deep down, vegas is attracted to pete but he himself does not know it yet. he did not kill pete because subconsciously, he feels something already. he becomes aware of his own feelings when pete passes out. vegas thinks that he has killed pete and that's when a switch is flicked inside vegas' brain. now he is aware that there is a bigger reason as to why he didn't kill pete, why he does not want pete to die.
as for pete, he doesn't really feel much for vegas. maybe fascination? physical attraction? and now he feels a little sympathy for him. i don't see pete as a victim of stockholm syndrome because pete is very strong mentally. he does not take shit from anyone. he had no problem pointing a gun at vegas and his best friend porsche just one episode ago. pete is not a victim. if he falls in love with vegas, it is because he wants to.
so maybe it feels fast paced but it is not THAT fast paced if you really think about it.
Thinking of how much Kinn and Porsche are in love...I wonder why from the trailer that Kinn points a gun at Porsche…
that scene will be in next week's episode cause kinn was wearing the suit from the trailer. it could be because heās isnāt kinnās bodyguard anymore but still goes on to fulfill his duties as one
porsche living his best life in the sky while pete is fighting for his life and chay is getting his heart broken on the ground is really something to think about
this is bibleās first show⦠a LOT of people should be scared because we know so many bl actors canāt act even after doing so many bls and then thereās bible who is absolutely killing it in his first acting role and that too he plays a very complex character. you really know how good vegas is when youāve seen how different vegas and bible are. vegas is satanās sidekick while bible is a cutie. i want everyone to praise and admire bible because heās AMAZING
has pets
feeds his pets on time
talks cutely with his pets
reads books
listens to sermons
loves his brother
