i'm just gonna recommend 'heartstopper' here. it's an actually good queer show with lovable characters and a coherent plot. it's out on netflix rn..... go watch it!
besides the whole 'is it kluennuea or nueakluen' thingy, this is a pretty good show and it is giving me everything i want in a romcom. the jealousy, the lingering stares, the light angst, the 'everyone wants him but he wants you' trope, the 'one fell first but the other one fell harder' trope, friendships, fluff, healthy banter...... ahh it's so good. i just wish there were more episodes. it makes so much sense that new (from wabi sabi) directed it. he's pretty good at making uni setting bls and making the friendship groups seem genuine. apart from that, joong and dunk are great and they actually do have chemistry. now i hope 'star in my sky' is as good as this.
me actually liking this show is the biggest plot twist for me....... considering the past shows i've liked were so stressful and angsty, liking this was a pleasant surprise. so much fluff here, and i love it! give me more!
i skipped all the makeout scenes and so, i remember nothing about this episode. like i am not even kidding. the only thing i can remember is syn doing his thing and nothing else.
sometimes all you need is a good romcom. like i love my intense stuff but i just forgot what good romcom bls felt like (get it? cause futs and enchante were really bad). it has its flaws but it’s like so much fun to watch… reminds me of the time i was watching 2gether although the two shows are very different.
this was a simple drama with a simple plot. basically, the friends to lovers plot executed pretty well in my opinion. contrary to popular belief, han sohee and park hyungsik were really good in their roles and pretty believable as a pairing too. han sohee got a lot of criticism which she honestly did not deserve. people expect her to always act in dark and gritty dramas and now that she's in a cute slice of life drama, they're not liking her 'acting skills' but it is just that they are not used to seeing her in this type of role. it has nothing to do with her acting skills but everything to do with the said viewer's preconceived notion of her. but enough about that because this baeksang nominated actress doesn't need anyone defending her after everything she has done.
this show is really heartwarming and i would have loved to watch it in winter with a warm cup of coffee in my hands. i really didn't mind how short it was. i have watched korean bls which are 10-15 minutes per episode so i am used to short formatted dramas. what else is there to say? this drama was good and i liked it for what it was.
i really don't get the discourse? i thought we all collectively agreed that the first two episodes were good. like.... the thing about kp is that y'alls expectations were on the roof and i always thought that it could only lead to disappointment. i for one didn't have any expectations and i am pleasantly surprised.
okay... so this episode was really bad. i have to say that it was the worst episode of the show. now i am gonna admit that all the syn and nuea scenes were very cute but everything else was so bad. look, if you want to have mature scenes in your show, that's alright. there's nothing wrong with that but in kuea and lian's case, it was just not it. i just feel like they should've done it after telling each other the truth- kuea about his hidden identity and lian about whatever money stuff he's doing. the most messed up thing is that lian never told that he was the 'stranger' kuea had kissed. it is actually a pretty big deal. he should've told kuea about what happened when he was drunk. keeping him in the dark and guilty for something he did not do is just so wrong. also lian saying that this is somehow linked with him asking kuea to move in with him makes absolutely no sense. what in the world is the writer smoking? at this point, nothing makes sense.
again, if you watch all scenes of kuea with and without lian, you will know a big difference. kuea is whiny and annoying when he is with lian and he acts normal (?) when he is with his friends. he's just a likeable character when he is not with lian and that says more about lian than it does about kuea.
all kon diao and yi scenes were boring. we are going in circles with these two. it has been 8 episodes but we are still stuck on the same page. nothing ever happens! they're very boring and bring nothing new to the table.
ken (perth) or arm(hot guy with glasses)?
romcoms: semantic error, to my star, 2moons 2 (not my fav but joong is in it).
stressful bls that are also romcoms: bad buddy, dark blue kiss, where your eyes linger.
