I've seen 11 episodes now and I don't think any romantic scenes are going to happen for the two main leads. The only (kind of) romance is Xia Ling being infatuated with Li Xuan Yuan (who's her guardian spirit). There is a brief backstory for her guardian sprit and it had romance in it, but I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a love story. Overall feel is more like a group of strangers turned friends who fights evil together.
I wholeheartedly agree I so wanted to like this show, and I did watch up until ep 16 but I had to drop it. It…
I wanted to drop it too but I was being stubborn. I had to see what happened even if it was boring, but I understand. I somehow brainwashed myself into thinking this drama had 16 episodes rather than 20. So when I reached episode 14 I was excited to be almost done, but instead I just got a rude awakening.
I'm far too lazy to write a detailed review for this show right now, but also want to leave a couple of thoughts…
The whole downfall of this show for me was Li Qing Qing. From the very beginning I hated everything about Qing Qing; from her personality to her affair. She has this extremely stuck-up vibe and acts like she is so wise and everything she does is right. Her fault was the largest and somehow, she still gave off the impression of not really understanding how morally wrong it is.
In episode 82, Ji Kuan’s wife went to her house and told her mother that her daughter is had an affair with her husband and is the reason why they're getting divorced. Qing Qing told the wife, “I didn’t instigate Ji Kuan to divorce you. Please get the situation straight. Also, I’ve already chosen to step out of this. What more do you want from me?” From this quote, it feels as if she feels that she didn’t do anything wrong since she already broke off the relationship.
I was excited when her mother found out about the affair. The mom is overbearing and has this set of standards where her kids should follow to be good kids. I wanted to see her mother's fury wreck havoc on Qing Qing, but it was mediocre and disappointing. Especially when you compare it to what the mom has actively done to her other daughters.
The only other character I hated more than her was Ji Kuan, but they’re kind of a package deal.
If it weren't for Li Qing Qing this show would be bearable and decent. Maybe (7.5/10). Yes it dropped a lot, but she created an extremely bad aftertaste for me.

Li An Qing and Chen Qi Le:
- The oldest sister who went to America, got married and divorced, and has a son named Jerry. Qi Le is her boss at her new job, but they bumped into each other eight years ago before she left for America. It was love at first sight for him and he kept referring to her as his goddess. Their love slowly developed (felt the most mature) and had the least conflicts. His mom was originally against their relationship since he’s their only son and she’s a divorcee with a child. Their relationship had a reasonable amount of screen time.
Li Yi Wan and Du Xiao Fei:
- The second oldest sister who works at a daycare. She is viewed to be the kindest and understanding sister, but also the meekest. She’s quite innocent for someone who’s supposed to be the second oldest, but I guess that’s her charm. Xiao Fei’s mother is a part of the gang organizations in Taiwan. He’s currently a lawyer, but this didn’t stop Yi Wan’s mother from hating him. She didn’t want her daughter to have any relations to gangs. Their relationship started from episode one and was the cutest. Their relationship had the most screen time throughout, but it did lessen near the end.
Li Qing Qing and Xu Ji Kuan:
- The third oldest sister who works as a secretary. She is a rule follower, is regarded as smart, and is stiff. Her boss, Ji Kuan, is married and his wife is a traveling artist so she’s rarely in Taiwan. Their relationship started from her constant care for him and developed into an affair. Their relationship had the most conflict and started to gain a lot of screen time during the middle to second half of the show.
Li Xiao Xi and Zhao Yu Hang:
- The youngest sister who is currently in college. Her personality is naïve, innocent, somewhat dumb, and cute. She troubles Yu Hang (a neighborhood older brother). Who used to be her tutor and is currently a professor at her college. He’s older than her and because of this her parents were extremely against their relationship. However, they fall in love and she gets pregnant with his child. This relationship had the least amount of screen time, but you do see Yu Hang around a lot because he helps their family a lot.
I'm far too lazy to write a detailed review for this show right now, but also want to leave a couple of thoughts if someone was interested in watching this...my overall rating for this is (5.5/10). The score would be higher if it weren't for a specific sister. Not even the controlling mom ruined this for me. Most Asian mothers are quite controlling, but she can be quite annoying.
First spoiler is a short and condensed summary of each sister's relationship. Second spoiler is what I hated most.
