I actually received your DM. Twice ;) I am not sure why MDL made it look like I didn't receive it. And yeah, I will migrate there with any comments on TMS from now on... :)

What happened indeed :P I was contemplating changing my pfp into either this one or the other one with Lu Guangming being a drama queen, but ultimately decided on this scene because it's so beautiful and emotionally charged and both Zhao and Xixi's eye acting is crazy in here. And then I was scrolling thru the comments and got confused like... wait, huh? what? Which one is me? ;)
πππ(Last time I had such a long-lasting post-drama depression caused simply by the fact that the drama…
Speaking of TMS I actually gave it a try... I'm on episode 3 and... Girl, I'm not sure how to feel about it π So what I like is definitely writing. I feel like the dialogues are just cleverly written, it's fun to follow characters simply talk. And it's definitely a nice touch to have two main characters possessing clearly functioning brains π I also like the not-so-subtle symbolism/parallelisms between the cigs red flaggy CEO guy is smoking and the other guy gradually acquiring taste for it π€ The flashbacks we get from CEO's past and his issues stemming from those are also being introduced in a way that doesn't make me feel like I am being spoon-fed the story or whipped with it on my face, so that's another plus.
But... what the hell with drugging people on *multiple* occasions. What the hell with that SA scene (like, I know it was framed as him "inhibiting" himself, but what he did was already messed up in its own right). As someone who's more into wholesome dynamics (Chusan and Liuyi are the perfect example) I am struggling there π I thought CEO intriguing in the first episode, now... I am scared what's the next thing he'd decide to do π I'm still watching though. I was promised no romanticizing of toxic stuff, so I'll trust your judgement for now :> Plus the positives are still there and I find the story refreshing for now.
πππ (Last time I had such a long-lasting post-drama depression caused simply by the fact that the drama ended was after I'd finished The Untamed)
WAIT what is that ending? Can someone kind enough can explain me about the 2nd leads story? I was too focused…
I mean, just based on the drama alone (I haven't read the book). He's more of a morally grey character. I wouldn't say he is bad bad, like the villain of the story. However, it's difficult to say he is actually good π He's executing his own vendetta because his older brother (the other cop's former crush) was killed by what he thinks is some conspiracy between gangsters and corrupted cops (and trying to figure out who was really behing his brother's death). That's the motivation behind everything he's doing. In the process he is breaking all sorts of rules, not above blackmailing people and he did get Chusan in trouble as he was the one who told Fei Qi that Chusan was Liuyi's lover (and hence was the reason Chusan got kidnapped). Still, his intention was not for Chusan to get hurt, but more like treating him as collateral damage in his plan to get revenge. How much that makes him a bad character? I guess it depends on the audience's personal judgement π (I actually really like his character, he might be my second favourite after Chusan ;))
But I don't want other actors for s2, but only them
Don't worry no one is talking about replacing the main cast.
It's just that the story might need new characters for the Thai arc (as it is something that the novel has) and we are simply speculating: *if* s2 actually happens, then it might cover that part of the novel and then we might have some Thai actors casted in the drama. I don't think any of us here in the comments would want to replace anybody from the original cast. I most definitely wouldn't :)
That scene from the last episode that you're describing is my favourite moment of the entire episode, I might…
Thank you, I actually did. The amount of details this person spotted is impressive. I didn't even pay attention to those flashback scenes and Qing Long being the "light bringer" e.g. I might re-watch (yet again) some episodes just for spotting all of these now.
That scene from the last episode that you're describing is my favourite moment of the entire episode, I might…
On that note though. If you ever feel like writing a separate post about it, I will most definitely read it. I get this sense of satisfaction when I see people praising cinematography of SCD ;) Plus I do wonder how many things are there that I haven't noticed myself (like aside from the obvious Liuyi being presented in the shadows, Chusan in the light etc.)
Rewatching the show, still can't get over how handsome Xia Liu Yi looks covered in blood. All of his fight scenes…
That scene from the last episode that you're describing is my favourite moment of the entire episode, I might be even more obsessed with it than that epic kiss scene we got. Everything about it is perfection (not just Yanzhao's acting, though I agree with your praises directed at him), but entire composition of the shot, the crimson red background... chef's kiss!
Yes. We need thai characters. If it goes according to novel, what happens in Thailand is a huge part of the story.…
Well, I'm at the stage of interpreting anything like this as a sign of s2 happening, so currently I'm just internally celebrating π I guess it also helps that, while personally I'm not big on Thai BLs, I happen to have a positive impression of both KinnPorsche and Shine as shows, so if these two actors were involved in making SCD s2, I think the outcome would be good on their side...
Plus I haven't read the novel either, so whatever they change, I wouldn't know ;) As long as s2 happens and maintains the quality of s1, I think I'd be (very) happy.
Really? What makes you think so? Did they ever sound any more certain to you because to me they've been vague…
So an entire summer and then possibly autumn of waiting (if anything happens) according to that rumour of yours. I saw some info they'd be having like a fanmeet/concert format in July, so I suppose what you're saying could be correct. They'd might wanna wrap up all those promo events before the filming commences...
I don't really know much about that part of the story, since I haven't read the novel and I avoid spoilers like plague ;) Still, the show did change up quite a few things already, didn't it? Maybe there are some changes to that part of the story too...
Guys... what is this stuff that I'm hearing about Xizhao following Thai actors on their IGs? The KinnPorsche guy and that one Shine guy (Apo and Son Yuke?)
Do we need any Thai characters for that Thai arc of the story that could possibly happen in the alleged, yet not confirmed s2? Can anyone tell? Does anybody know?
Do I start freaking out or should I pretend that I am not freaking out? π
rewatching it for the 3rd time cuz im missing them smππ
I keep going back to it to watch my favourite moments, but that usually ends with me watching almost an entire episode, since everything is just sooo good...
(Also, this is random, but seeing you liking Sammy's Children's Day *and* having Leon/Ada in your pfp tells me a lot about your obviously refined taste ;))
Really? What makes you think so? Did they ever sound any more certain to you because to me they've been vague…
I am hanging on Changxi literally saying "there will be season 2" before Zhao spoke and brought me back down from the cloud 9 I was already getting comfortable on π
Let your poor heart hear me out then. This is my impressive detective deductionπ So Yanzhao cut his hair recently, right? Originally I just thought dude wanted to look fresh for his red carpet appearance, nothing of it. But *now* I'm starting to wonder *maybe* it was indeed for filming. Cause his Liuyi look is sharper, with a bit shorter hair, isn't it? So... first we had Zhao cutting his hair, then we had them come to Thailand...π
Actors sound way less sure about season 2 on their Thailand tour than they did before. I thought it was a 50-50…
Really? What makes you think so? Did they ever sound any more certain to you because to me they've been vague like this all along π I guess the only thing that's changed now is that over two weeks has passed since the drama (alleged s1) concluded and we are still waiting for a confirmation... π
They filmed s1 in like 20 days though, didn't they? I think once they start, it should go relatively smoothly.…
Yeah... the ambiguity and this back and forth (one is saying "we will have it", the other goes "nothing is confirmed yet"π ) is not exactly soothing my anxiety π
SCD being translated into 18 languages should already have at the very least like 10K viewers instead of a bit more than 5K... I mean, with plenty of other dramas, including mainstream cdrama big titles, if I decided to wait for subs in my native language I'd have to wait for months. Yet SCD already has all episodes subbed in my mother tongue.
Oh well, anyway... I guess no point complaining about it...

Yeah... I know, I know... Which is why I get anxious about all their magazine shots and brand deals like "will they sell well, will they flop"π« The cast had some promo event in Thailand today (together with Matthew and Mingbo). Matt and Bo also seem to be having a magazine out soon. I take all these as good signs (but also... more anxiety inducers π).
I actually was not aware production is so quick with cdramas. But I guess where it usually drags on for months on is waiting for approval to be aired (not an issue in SCD's case though for obvious reasons).
Speaking of platforms (and it SCD being generally underappreciated which you mentioned somewhere else), it bothers me a bit how little visibility SCD has on Viki. Since it's listed as HK drama it doesn't really pop up in the main categories (Korea, Japan, Mainland China and Taiwan) on app, so in order to find it you actually need to specifically look for the title, which kinda sucks bcs it excludes the possibility of people just stumbling upon it and getting interested a lot... Not that I think Viki or Gaga popularity matter more than the sales of merch, brand deals, fanmeets etc. because I don't think it does. But still... π«

Wait up, it's been only six months since the announcement of casting to full release of s1? Wow, that's crazy fast... But then that also means there's hope for s2 to come out this year if that's how quick they're working. Right? RIGHT? π
It's crazy to think that WoH would take only three months to film. Considering not only the amount of episodes, but also all the costumes, the wigs, the fighting scenes (like, I'm not a big fan of WoH tbh, but those fighting scene were really so good). But yeah, so if a production like WoH can wrap things on set up in 3 or 4 months then I guess it's not that surprising SCD would finish filming in less than a month.
And then I was scrolling thru the comments and got confused like... wait, huh? what? Which one is me? ;)
(not switching though, no way! ;))
