The Korean version is more layered and deeper when it explores some of those issues with self-confidence. Audience…
When I saw the first episode, I said this was going to be a disaster. Many people criticized me and said it was better than the Korean version.

Now everyone realizes that this version is crap. Win is acting badly, I don't know what's going on. I think he's not ready to be a leading man yet.

The actress who plays Liu also acts very badly, she is expressionless and I don't even feel her pain. Being that when Mi-rae cried she really conveyed her sadness to you.
I don't know how to empathize with her, because she is stubborn and wasn't even able to confront Faye properly. She crawled like a dog to be friends with her, when Faye was telling her all the bad things she had done to her and that she hated her. She is just pathetic. When Mi-rae started noticing strange things about Sumi, she walked away and agreed with Kyung Seok that she was a bad person.

Guy doesn't look like the protagonist at all. Kyung Seok would never have allowed what happened at the party. In fact when Sumi hugged him, he quickly pushed her away. He is not a protagonist capable of solving or helping the protagonist. He is a plant, literally.

Faye acts badly, I'm sorry but it's the truth. When Sumi's story was told could understand her and she made me feel a little sorry. Faye's story is not credible, it is not even poor as she says. She has a better house than Sumi had.

Saint is a mess and annoying. Nothing like the sunbae who actually treated Kyung Seok as a friend and allowed him to stay with him. Instead, Saint lied to him that there were rooms available.

I'm even embarrassed that this drama is rated 7.6 stars. It should be a 6. Because the performances and script are a disaster.

Whoever says that this version is better than the Korean one is simply blinded by fanaticism.

I think this reaffirms my position that this is the worst adaptation I have ever seen.

First of all, Guy and Liu's hug felt really unnatural. At this time, Kyung Seok had already kissed Mi-rae. But I didn't feel absolute chemistry between Win and the actress.

So what the hell is wrong with Guy? You know if it had been Kyung Seok, he wouldn't have let her hug him or touch him. He would have sent her directly to the place where she was born, because Kyung Seok didn't mince words in telling Su-a that he hated her and he could see how fake she was. Kyung Seok would have respected Mi-rae. Which Guy didn't do.
There are those who justify it by saying that it was because Liu did not know what Faye was like. But that's stupid, he could have just ignored him, taken Liu's hand and left together. It was as simple as that, but now he's also complicit in Faye's plan going well and they're criticizing Liu for DOING NOTHING.

Faye...your story is so ridiculous and nonsensical. Do you know why Sua, in the Korean version, was like she was? Because her mother abandoned her. She only came one day and bathed her, because she was dirty, she cut her hair and told her “it's the only thing I can do for you” and she left. When Sua returned to school bathed and with a new haircut, she realized several things: 1. She had to be pretty to be loved (her trauma from her mother's abandonment)
2. She had to agree with everyone and be friendly, so that, again, they would like me.
3. Pretend not to be smart so as not to seem conceited.
Her story makes more sense, other than she started hating girls with her plastic surgery because her best friend got one and started dating the boy she liked.

Everything that surrounded Sua's past and present was wanting to cover the wound of her mother's abandonment and never feel unloved again. Her story is believable.

What can the director come up with with such a ridiculous and ridiculous story about Faye's mother?
Plus Faye said she has nothing. She literally lives in a palace compared to Sua's. And Sua didn't have a cat, she took care of one and gave it what she could to buy food for the kitten. That does show the poverty in which Sua lived.

And finally Liu. I said Liu wouldn't be up to the task Mi-rae had against Sua and it turned out, even worse than she thought. Faye telling her that she hates her, that she always wanted to bully her and many other horrible things and Liu being stupid crying because she begged her to be her friend. What the fuck? When Mi-rae confronted Sua about her true personality and what she thought of her, she directly left her speechless. She didn't even know what to answer him because dhe left her speechless. And she walked away from her, she never begged Sua for friendship after finding out (something Mi-rae had already done many episodes ago) and Liu, like a clown, realized after12 episodes later and on top of that dhe was acting. like a patethic

Anyway, two chapters left. Which will be a disaster. And I wish people would think twice before saying that this bad adaptation is better than the Korean one, and I'm sorry but Win is not acting well, I don't know if it's because of the shitty script, but he literally can. . He doesn't even defend his girlfriend like Kyung Seok did. He practically doesn't speak, he just remains like a statue.

I’m confused by the last part of your comment about Faye. Did you not watch the ending of ep 10? It does hint…
From the beginning you tried to screw me. You were expecting me to say "oh I was wrong, I didn't see the last part" and when i'm didn't keep quiet and I stood my ground you said you hadn't read what I had written.
Just say that you love the drama and it bothered you that I gave a bad, and justifiable, review because you love it. But look you can't even defend the disaster of this drama because you have no arguments. go fuck somewhere else

I'm sorry, I won't be nice to you this time because you're just looking to piss me off and you've succeeded.
You asked me a question but you're so lazy that you didn't deign to read why this drama is fucking bad.

If you ask a damn question, have the decency to read the answer, even if it's long.

It has nothing to do with it being from GMMTV. What the hell are you saying? My second favorite adaptation of Hana Yori Dango is F4 Thailand, which was produced by GMMTV. I also liked enigma.
It has nothing to do with it being from GMMTV. It is about differentiating when a work is well written and executed and when it has been done totally wrong.

But since you don't deign to read, you make your own guesses, just because you don't want to read something long.

If you had read everything I answered you would have gotten the point but you are so fucking lazy that you didn't and you put words in my mouth that I never said. Or maybe from the beginning you wanted to piss me off with your initial question. In any case, when you ask something, even if it is 500 written words, you must read. If not, shut up and don't ask.

thai version is far better. though usually i prefer original
Say it now when we are four chapters away from finishing the Thai version and the protagonist and the protagonist have had almost no interaction. The second appears more on screen than the protagonist.
And the protagonist still hasn't realized the true face of the antagonist even though there are only 4 chapters left... how the hell is it going to be better than the Korean version?

I'm also going to be very honest with you, your question was like "oh didn't you see was shown at the end of the episode." And it's not as simple as that, that's why I explained to you in detail why I didn't take that part as relevant. There are only 4 episodes left and this topic was addressed from the first chapter of the Korean version. There are too many loose ends for them to successfully resolve this. And they are definitely not going to make it. It has been simply disastrous and it is going to get worse.

Let's start in parts, since when in the Korean version signs began to appear that Su-a had bulimia and anorexia. In chapter 10? When are there 4 chapters left to finish the series? No, from the beginning there were indications that she had eating disorders.

It's not just throwing up at home, I did it all the time in college. When she was at home and weighed himself, she weighed only 44 kg, she did not eat and lived by taking diet pills so as not to be hungry.

So when did you see that Su-a had a super nice and comfortable room to streaming? NEVER.

The place where Faye lives is a paradise compared to the place where Su-a lived. Faye is seen with a computer, in a decorated room, then disorder, with boxes and a spotless armchair.

Su-a even went so far as to lie about where she lived and waited for her classmates to leave for a long time until she went home.
His house was a pigsty. It had damp-stained walls, a small kitchen, a very small dressing table, and she slept on the floor with a mattress. She didn't I had a decent bed to sleep in., just a mattress and a blanket.
You're really going to compare where Faye lives to where Su-a lives. That even the door to her house could be opened by anyone, given that the door to her house was in such poor condition? She could barely buy food for the kitten she took care of.

I didn't have a computer or anything. I barely had a phone.

The topic of anorexia and bulimia is important because thanks to the fact that she vomited at university, All her classmates were able to realize the serious eating disorder she had. When did you see Faye throw up at university?

Or that eating disorders will even be talked about from the first moment. From the beginning it was shown that Mi-rae was bullied from a young age for being a "pig." And from a very young age she started dieting, exercising and vomiting.

What can you do in only 4 chapters, when Liu has never been shown to have had that type of illness as well? That was what brought Mi-rae and Su-a together. That they had experienced very similar things to be accepted.
Replying to SnowWhite123 Mar 19, 2024
Yeah this adaptation really sucks and I had hope for this show when I heard of another version. Liu doesn't deserve…
Honestly, I lost hope that this situation could be resolved.

Everything is a disaster and there are only 4 episodes left.

Mi-rae had already been suspicious of Su-a for a long time before, so she gradually distanced herself from her and they barely spoke.

It's been 10 episodes and Liu still thinks Faye is a helpless magical fairy incapable of doing anything wrong. I mean, there really was no absolute evolution in her character.

Let's not even talk about the chemistry between Win and the actress. At this point I don't know if they don't have chemistry or if because they're putting Saint in all the damn time and in any circumstance, it's the lack of chemistry. At this point, when the final chapter comes we will only see a forced relationship.

I have never seen a drama by this actress, but she acts robotically. Even when she is sad, she doesn't seem believable to me. The actress who played Mi-rae cried so desperately, that she really squeezed your heart and made you want to hug her.

I also think Liu will be very condescending to Faye when the confrontation comes and will forgive her and want to be her friend despite everything she has done. While Mi-rae was much harsher on Su-a, telling her that she also hated her and was fed up with her attitudes but also gave her a hopeful message that they didn't have to continue living that way.

Mi-rae took care of her when she was in the hospital but they never saw or spoke again. Only Su-a went to leave her the perfume that Mi-rae used as a form of apology and that's it.

But honestly Liu doesn't have Mi-rae's strength to face her properly.

In my opinion, I only have to see 4 more chapters of disappointments and a forced and poorly done ending.

You couldn't have been more accurate if you tried. And May I add the 2ML has more chemistry with teh FL than the…
Exactly, if Guy had had the same screen time as Saint, the chemistry would have been noticeable and it would have been more believable. I don't know if the director has a preference for the actor who plays Saint but he doesn't really favor Win at all.

In today's episode, why was Saint at the police station? In the Korean version there was Mi-rae, kyung soo, the man who talked shit about Mi-rae and Kyung soo's mom. But the director wants to put Saint in absolutely everything.

Liu is afraid to go out with Guy but has no problem going out with Saint everywhere. That makes sense?

Saint is stressing me out too much because when He confessed to her he continued and continues to insist. I liked that in the Korean version, although Mi-rae accepted the date with the sunbae, she didn't do it precisely because she wanted to go out with him, but because of how nice he was to her and she wanted to know why. he liked her. Obviously his answer disappointed her because he only liked her for her looks, which was contrary to Kyung Soo. He loved her for who she was, not what she looked like. Even when they were in a relationship, he told her that she missed her previous face, that's why she wanted to see her photo. This shows that he really didn't care at all about his appearance, that he wanted it with or without surgeries.

And the sunbae, when he was rejected, graciously accepted his rejection and stopped insisting. It wasn't even necessary for Mi-rae to tell her who she loved because she knew that she loved Kyung Soo and even encouraged her to be honest with her feelings.

Saint is being very selfish in this sense, because Sunbae, despite feeling sad about being rejected, never interfered in Mi-rae and Kyung Soo's relationship. I accept it and that's it. But Saint is still involved in everything.

For this reason there is no chemistry between them. Because they almost never interact. And when Guy tries to interact with her, she always pushes him away from her for some stupid reason.

And at this point what can we expect? We're on episode 10 and she hasn't even questioned Faye's attitude. Are they going to wait until the last episode for Liu to be honest with Guy? At this point it's not even credible.
Plus she tells Saint that when she is with him her problems disappear, I mean WTF? Even Guy is giving up on Liu, making way for Saint. When Kyung soo never gave up on Mi-rae

When I see Liu with Guy, I don't even feel like she loves him more than just another friend.

Everyone criticized the original version but at least they gave us moments between fl and ml, we could see how…
People who criticize the original version are simply because they like Win and the actress.

But no matter how much you might like it, you can't deny that this adaptation is a disaster.

The growth of love between the protagonists was very beautiful. The protagonist misinterpreted it, she realized that she was not like that, they became friends and from there, with his actions, she fell in love with him.

But they give Win less of a camera and Liu barely interacts with Guy at all. It is impossible to believe that Liu would fall in love with him overnight. It seems that she is more in love with Saint than with Guy.

Of course, Saint has much more chemistry because they have seen many more moments than with Guy. Guy really seems like the supporting character, he doesn't even have half the time on screen so that one can feel that there is chemistry between them. This is a disaster

Everyone criticized me when I talked about the drama's failure, but in the end I ended up being right about everything.…
And the fight... my god I laughed so much. It doesn't compare to the fight Eunwoo had with the boy he worked at. He gave him a big beating (for the person who said that Eunwoo didn't show the violent side of him and Guy did). Even when he told the police officer that he had to apologize for not hitting him harder so that he wouldn't talk more. You could really tell that he wanted to smash his face, again.

How Mi-rae defended him was masterful. And the fact that when they leave the police station she broke down and her mom along with Eunwoo consoled her was very emotional.

Here Faye, all she did was push him further away. No matter what Guy does for her, she always finds some stupid excuse to get him away from her.

Everyone criticized me when I talked about the drama's failure, but in the end I ended up being right about everything.

Mi-rae, in the Korean version, had at this point already realized Su-a's true face. Here Liu WE ARE IN CHAPTER 10 and he hasn't realized what Faye is like. He doesn't even suspect anything at all about her.

She's so fucking frustrating. She hasn't had a change in her personality since the first chapter.

Is Win really the protagonist? His time on camera is really too short. Saint seems like the protagonist.

And this means that Liu and Guy don't have chemistry. Because the interactions between them are minimal. Everything is too forced.

There are 4 chapters missing and no important topic that was covered in the Korean version has been touched on.

I love Win, but people who say that the main character's version is better than Eunwoo's are absolutely wrong.

Eunwoo showed a huge evolution in his character and Lim Soon also showed a huge evolution in his character. Something that the actress here does not. I'm not saying she's a bad actress, but her poker face makes it too difficult to feel her pain. When Mi-rae cried, I cried with her because her pain really got to you.

The director made the drama a total chaos.

Another thing, Faye lives in a very nice house and streams. When Su-a had to lie where she lived because it wasn't a nice place.

And no, at this point they are no longer going to address the topic of Su-a's anorexia and all her problems.

It really is a disaster. And whoever denies it, he is completely blind.

GMMTV try to dramatize the situations way to much in their remakes. Even though I haven't seen the original drama…
In episode 5, it was no better than the Korean version. The relationship between the protagonist and his mother was much better. And he saw how frustrated he was because the protagonist will talk to her mother.

The actress who played her mother far surpassed the update of the actress who plays her mother in the Thai version. Even the confrontation with her ex-husband for having lied to her children for a long time and the confrontation that the protagonist has with his father for having lied to him in that way about his mother. It was much better executed.

Regarding Faye, she already had the protagonist's photo from the beginning, when in the Korean version the antagonist subtly cornered the protagonist until everyone knew that she was an artificial beauty. The reason for hatred towards the protagonist was planted from minute one of the drama. Faye only acts evil for no apparent reason, because no one at the university considers the protagonist to be one of the beautiful girls of the university. She is poorly addressed, from minute zero.

The bulimia and anorexia of the protagonist was planted from chapter 1. In chapter one you only see a girl with pimples and covered with a mask lol

And you are wrong, in the Korean version the protagonist was not isolated from his own class. He himself did not want to have contact with others. And the protagonist helps a lot in the protagonist's healing process, because she didn't care how much he got angry with her about his mother, she fought to make him reconcile with his mother.

The protagonist in these 4 episodes only dedicated herself to being irritating to Guy.

So no, they are not portraying anything well.

GMMTV try to dramatize the situations way to much in their remakes. Even though I haven't seen the original drama…
Thank you for understanding. My ID is Gangnam Beauty is a very precious drama for me because it is something very personal. And I think they are even desecrating this wonderful drama.

In the Korean version, various topics are discussed, such as machismo, social pressure to be beautiful, and bulimia and anorexia. However, I have never seen the topic of anorexia addressed in any Thai drama, when the rates of this disorder are high. I also see actresses on Instagram who have lost a lot of weight and show off food they never eat. These are important themes, which the drama is not addressing at all.

I saw some episodes of Faceless Love but I didn't need to finish it to see what the worst adaptation ever made is. I thought the Korean version of Rich Man and Poor Woman was the worst. But the Thai version was undoubtedly the worst. It didn't have even a bit of the essence of the original Japanese drama. Which is very good.

I couldn't tell you about Cherry Magic because I haven't seen it. No version. But it's surprising that they adapted and improved things in the F4 Thailand adaptation. Without losing the essence of the original story at all.

I don't understand how they can make some adaptations as good as F4 Thailand and make adaptations as bad as this one, Kiss me and Faceless Love.

Some people justify it with the duration but F4 Thailand had the same time and yet they did a good job.

I think the scriptwriter and the production are making a mess. And if they were not willing to discuss such important issues, as I mentioned, they would have chosen not to do so. Win's screen time is the same time that he has a secondary character, while he is the protagonist. Also I don't see the chemistry between them, Prii just by being close to Win they already have more chemistry than with the main actress.
On Beauty Newbie Mar 4, 2024
I'm sorry but I can't handle this adaptation and I don't understand people who say it's better than the Korean version.

I Am Soo Hyang completely captured the essence of the character, making you really feel his pain, his shyness, his insecurity, and his growth. Something that the actress in this adaptation is not conveying to me at all. I'm not saying she's a bad actress, but I think this role is not for her.

I am aware that Thais tend to change a lot when they adapt something. But here they have even totally changed Guy's personality and environment.

The antagonist in the Korean version has a very sad past and her bad attitudes towards the protagonist was progressive and believable. Here I only see a person who hates the protagonist for no reason. I don't see the competition from her on who was the most beautiful. That was the main problem with the protagonist. The protagonist here was never praised among the most beautiful in the university even since her first appearance.

I don't have a problem with Win, I know he acts well but I like Eunwoo's attitude better. No one isolated him, he isolated himself and was the one they feared the most at the university. That doesn't happen here.

I think it was a mistake not to include the protagonist's friend. Because she was her best confidant and who knew how much the protagonist had suffered. However, here they changed it for the second one, who really doesn't know her well and yet, she tells him absolutely everything, she is too trusting for a person as insecure and shy as the character herself is.

There is almost no interaction between the protagonists. Another big mistake.

Everything is very boring and everything feels very forced and fast. In the Korean version everything was more believable.

If I keep watching this it's because of Win, but I'm sure I'll be very disappointed in the drama at the end.
