The royal family have no official power, but they have influence and authority, especially in the high society.
If they are corrupt (like the queen and her family), they can get some benefits out of this influence.
However if you are the only honest one (like the grand prince so far), you don't use your influence to trade for anything so you are quite limited in your actions and you will feel oppressed.

After watching 2 eps I really like it so far.
For me the acting is the best part of the show, the actors are all veterans, they don't have only good visuals.
The start is quite slow so I can't say much about the script (seems classic to me, but classic is good if it's well done).
The music is ok, nothing really stands out.

I suspect the most dramatic thing would be that he saved the FL in the fire/explosion the day Yi Na was born by using his power in a special way that he didn't notice himself, thus creating a connection with the FL.

I love the ML and FL, they are very good actors. They can heal each other and they will have to face many conflicts to get together.
Also the family of thieves is not presented as extremely evil, they are very human and they seem to have an element of compassion (helmet guy wondering if the little girl is lacking toilet paper, gym trainer going to save the flying woman etc.).

I suspect the ML doesn't really know how to use his powers (as he knows, his powers are useless except for a detective). Also, he probably saved the FL in the fire/explosion the day Yi Na was born, by using his powers thus creating a connection with the FL.

So far this drama is amazing ! Great production, acting, music, tight plot !
I hope it can progress smoothly with the same fast pace. I wonder how it can rate only 8.3 ?

At this point it would be strange if they are not his kids... The timing is perfect because they are 35, they broke up at 28 and the kids are 7 !
Plus the way Mi Joo acts around him and when the kids mention their father...

As it stands the old Kang Ho was an absolute jerk. He abandoned his devoted GF without checking up on her (we suspect the kids are his). He destroyed the life of many people (protesters in front of the court). I mean he never even met his father so it should be difficult to have so much hatred that it clouds his judgement because of the past events.
The bad guys are so dirty that it should be possible to put them behind bars for a long time even without a crazy plan involving marriage, adoption and giving up his morality.
I suspect that there was some trigger event that we will discover that explains how he came to decide to embark on his crazy revenge plan.

I also hope that she becomes happy. Even if the illness takes her away, it should be after her husband gets justice, she meets her grandchildren and sees her son recover.

I also think her decision is wrong, but I completely understand her. She is devastated and the progression of her illness might soon make her a burden instead of a support for her son. Maybe she does not have the finances to support both her healthcare and her son's.

However I would like her to call for help, and still try to live, after all she has some neighbors/friends that could help her. Anyway she will be saved and will probably get some help from her friends or the FL, plus her son is literally stepping up.

The drama is really done well up to this point (ep 7) !
Tight plot, many cliches but nothing over the top. Some makjang elements in the past of the characters but it serves to justify their present behavior (the mother).
The drama has a somewhat mature feeling (experienced actors, rural setting) but there are funny moments and others that will make you cry.
As always the resolution of the plot will be the most difficult to negotiate, and in this drama in particular there are many things to resolve (revenge, relation with mom, the kids and Mi Joo), with only 7 eps remaining ! The pace will have to accelerate.
For now one of the best kdrama of this first half of 2023 !

At this point it would not change much, plus it would mess up the scenario : his relation with the kids, his mother and FL would just become fake (2/3 of screen time).

After 4 eps, I'm completely hooked ! Great actors with experience, great OST, good pace so far.
Some background aspects of the story seem somewhat unrealistic (the legal and work-related side of things), but the characters are the focus of this drama anyway so it doesn't matter.
There is a big risk of disappointment down the line though because some characters and parts of the story are over the top. With this kind of drama, to keep a good vide and coherence of the characters and story until the end is to walk on a tight rope.

(Just watched half of ep 1) - How come the siblings have no money ? They all have a decent full-time job, their parents are alive and working. It makes no sense that the son can't buy a new car without credit. At their age (around 30), and given that they own nothing and live with their parents, each sibling should have at least 100k$ on their bank account, unless they are crippled by student debt.

I watched 28 episodes and I wonder how can the rating be only 8.2 ! This drama has a very good pace and good acting for the genre, even if it's not very original. It's one of my favorite Xianxia already ! The main leads are very cute, and the villains are convincing, they are not complete idiots and have grey areas.

Zhang Zi Yi is 10 years older than me, but I'm sure next to her I would look like her grandfather !

I really like this show so I tend to ignore the problems with the writing, but I don't find the main "good" characters screwed up except Jamie who did disappoint and is useless.
Also the level of corruption is just not realistic/believable and way too open, which leads to bad/screwed characters.
The worst for me is the non-communication, even if everyone is not on the same team, should they not share info on the mad killer ?
