So many negative comments.. thank God we do not have all the same tastes.. how boring would that be.This makes…
It’s okay.....I actually like this drama, except for the kissing parts, which I have to fast-forward every time. It gives me secondhand embarrassment!
I’m not trying to defend the FL either. I’ve seen the comments, and I agree she still needs to improve in this genre. But personally, I don’t care too much about the other stuff, in my opinion, they did okay.
I tend to watch dramas without focusing too deeply. I just let it play, unless I get too emotionally invested and something starts to really annoy me. That’s usually when I stop watching.
I don't know about others but for me, after The best thing there was no modern romance and moreover it was An…
Fair enough, sometimes we just need something to watch. I usually prefer wuxia or xianxia dramas over modern ones too, but since I’m a fan of these two actors, I decided to give this one a go. :)
I bet you’re a Bai Lu fan, huh? That drama’s definitely going to be a hit!
The brothers not really involved anymore much after the trip
Yeah, it’s pretty normal for adaptations to not follow the novel exactly, but this one kind of changed some of the main points. The biggest no for me was when they had to say, “You really know how to kiss,” right after doing a fake one… I’m trying to ignore that because the story and the chemistry are actually good.

If you’re okay with the fake kiss and the cringey dialogue after, then that’s totally fine. 😄 The FL might not show a lot of expression, but I think she did great …..honestly, I’m like that in real life too, so I can totally relate to her character.
To be honest, I don’t think it’s that bad… but of course, everyone has different opinions. So, enjoy watching!
OMG! I found my people, this drama is actually good, right? I didn’t read the novel, but still! I’ve seen…
Yeah, she’s not bad. I also think maybe she shouldn’t take on romance roles for now. It feels like she’s trying to explore a more diverse range of characters — something lighter compared to her usual heavy dramas or films. And who knows? Maybe one day she’ll be open to doing kiss scenes and all. By then, she might have grown even more as an actress than she already has.
Honestly, it’s not like kiss scenes are such a big deal... great actors can still deliver strong chemistry without them. Believe me, I’ve watched dramas and movies where there was no kiss at all, but you could still feel everything. That’s just how good they were.
despite the ‘no kiss scene’ (which ngl kinda disappointed me a bit), there’s no way the actors don’t have…
OMG! I found my people, this drama is actually good, right? I didn’t read the novel, but still! I’ve seen way worse acting from others, and honestly, I think she did a good job. Of course, there’s still room to grow, especially in the romance genre…
But the chemistry? The way they look at each other? So good!
the funniest part of this no-kissing stuff is the source novel this drama is based on is like 90% love making…
Agreed. they could’ve done so much better by replacing the kiss with something more meaningful instead of doing a fake one. Just make us swoon with their chemistry or a heartfelt moment, I’m pretty sure most of us wouldn’t be as upset as people are right now. Pretty sure when we get too invested in something, we somehow forget the main point... or maybe they should just change the title altogether.
I started this series for the ML as i liked him from a previous sports drama but I dropped it too not only becoz…
Fair enough... everyone’s free to watch, drop, or comment however they like. I just found it a bit curious how some people say they don’t like the FL, yet still continue watching every episode. I guess that really shows how engaged people are, in their own way.
We’re all here because we share a common interest, some people even make friends through discussions like these. But if I can’t even ask a simple question without it being taken the wrong way, then... never mind, I guess. And curiosity about it isn’t some “excuse" btw. Sorry if anyone felt offended, that wasn’t my intention.
I have dropped it. I was so engrossed in the plot, didn’t read the spoilers and was looking forward to when…
Oh, I get it. I’ve been like that too when something in a show didn’t go the way I hoped. It can definitely get frustrating. And the fake kiss? Omg, that was terrible. The conversations after that? Total disaster, I cringed every time they did that.
But most of the time, I just read the comments to see how others react, it’s actually kind of fun, and it’s nice to see different points of view too. Everyone watches and feels things differently, and that’s what makes discussions interesting
Out of curiosity, why do you keep watching this drama when you clearly don't like the actress, for reasons like saying she can't act, she's stiff, and especially because she doesn't do kiss scenes? Honestly, shouldn't you have dropped it after the fake kiss scene with the bad outro, awkward angle, and cringey dialogue?
Some people actually enjoy this drama, so I’m just genuinely wondering. I'm not trying to argue or start anything, but if it were me, I would've rated it low and moved on. So why keep watching and commenting on something you don't like, all the way to the end? It really doesn't make sense to stay invested in something you dislike that much. Seriously though, I don’t want to argue....but what are your reasons for staying?
It’s funny to see all these comments about the FL, I totally get it because I was disappointed too. But honestly, for me, what really bothered me was how they filmed the kiss scene. It could’ve been so much better. And the conversations right after they kissed? Big no. They didn’t really need to do that, it felt so unnatural when we knew they didn’t kiss for real.
As for the acting, some people said she was stiff or that she didn’t show much emotion on her face. I don’t know about you guys, but I literally cried when they decided to end things on a good note. Plus, the OST they played was just so good! It was nice to actually feel something, even though there were no real kiss scenes. Honestly, it’s not that bad if you can just get past the fact that there won’t be any kisses on the lips in this drama.
They’re both actually really good actors — I liked it, I really did. I never thought I’d end up crying over this drama, especially after being so skeptical about it and commenting earlier.
I like Liu Haocun, she’s a great actress....but I don’t quite understand why they cast someone who doesn’t do kiss scenes in a drama literally titled Be Passionately in Love. I was hoping we’d get at least one, especially since she chose to take on this role. I know she’s avoided kiss scenes in the past, but I thought maybe she was ready this time.
That said, there are plenty of dramas without kiss scenes that still portray the story and chemistry really well. I just hope they give us something that truly shows them being passionately in love. I was really looking forward to it, especially since both leads are my favorites.
After not watching dramas for a while, this one became my first pick—and I have to say, I really enjoyed it! Song Zuer was amazing. I've seen a few of her past dramas, and she never disappoints. And of course, Liu Yuning—my man looked so handsome in this one! I actually found him more attractive here compared to his previous roles.
As for the story itself, "enemies to lovers" is my all-time favorite trope...chef’s kiss! I bet it’s a favorite for most people too. The chemistry was definitely there. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drama where Liu Yuning lacks chemistry with his co-stars.
I’d give this drama an 8.5. The only reason it’s not a 9 is because I found episodes 31 to 33 a bit boring. I was hoping for more plot development during those parts, but I get it...they needed time for themselves too. Still, it wasn’t bad at all. For people who are really invested in their love story, those episodes will be especially meaningful.
But of course, that didn’t last...Qiao pissed me off again! And yes, I cried at work.
Overall, I think it’s a great story. I haven’t watched a drama with tropes I love this much in a while. If not for those few borings episodes, it would’ve been a solid 9 for me. Maybe I’m weird though hahaha.
Wow, seeing so many negative comments about Lusi after everything she’s been through... honestly, I feel sorry for those people. I didn’t finish this drama, I only watched about half of it because I got lazy waiting for new episodes every week while it was airing. That’s on me, though; I tend to do this with a lot of dramas.
But one thing I want to say , for me, their acting was good. I didn’t feel like she was trying too hard or anything like the comments claimed. Her expressions felt natural, not over-the-top, and honestly pretty realistic for someone who’s been through what her character experienced. Their chemistry didn’t feel forced either, it was actually really good.
I can’t say much about the plot since I haven’t finished the drama yet, but maybe one day I will. It’s hard for me because I really don’t want to cry, just like I did when I watched A Journey to Love. I prefer happy endings, but from what I’ve read, this one has a logical ending , so it should be fine. Still, I need to take care of my mental health first.
All that aside, I do think this is actually a good drama.
I'm on episode 23 and I really don't like Zhang Wan Yi acting in this drama, at first I wasn't sure if it's his…
It’s okay not to like some of the actors or characters, we all have different preferences, and sometimes they just don’t align with others. I get you. I thought the acting was good, but for me, this drama felt pretty average. Personally, I think an 8.5 rating is a bit too high. Maybe most people felt it was that good, but the highest I’d give it would probably be around 7.5 to 8. That said, I do think the second half of the drama was much better, especially towards the end.
Are there any other dramas with similar vibes to this one? Maybe I’ve watched them and can relate a little. I saw some clips from this drama, but it didn’t quite match my taste, even though I really wanted to watch it when it first aired.
Can someone please convince me to watch this drama? It’s so hard to find one that suits me since Always Home... I love romance, no doubt, but I also enjoy a good slow burn with a bit of tension. The thing is, I always get bored when the couple gets together too early. So please, convince me.... I’m begging you guys! Hahaha.
