After not watching dramas for a while, this one became my first pick—and I have to say, I really enjoyed it! Song Zuer was amazing. I've seen a few of her past dramas, and she never disappoints. And of course, Liu Yuning—my man looked so handsome in this one! I actually found him more attractive here compared to his previous roles.
As for the story itself, "enemies to lovers" is my all-time favorite trope...chef’s kiss! I bet it’s a favorite for most people too. The chemistry was definitely there. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a drama where Liu Yuning lacks chemistry with his co-stars.
I’d give this drama an 8.5. The only reason it’s not a 9 is because I found episodes 31 to 33 a bit boring. I was hoping for more plot development during those parts, but I get it...they needed time for themselves too. Still, it wasn’t bad at all. For people who are really invested in their love story, those episodes will be especially meaningful.
But of course, that didn’t last...Qiao pissed me off again! And yes, I cried at work.
Overall, I think it’s a great story. I haven’t watched a drama with tropes I love this much in a while. If not for those few borings episodes, it would’ve been a solid 9 for me. Maybe I’m weird though hahaha.
Wow, seeing so many negative comments about Lusi after everything she’s been through... honestly, I feel sorry for those people. I didn’t finish this drama, I only watched about half of it because I got lazy waiting for new episodes every week while it was airing. That’s on me, though; I tend to do this with a lot of dramas.
But one thing I want to say , for me, their acting was good. I didn’t feel like she was trying too hard or anything like the comments claimed. Her expressions felt natural, not over-the-top, and honestly pretty realistic for someone who’s been through what her character experienced. Their chemistry didn’t feel forced either, it was actually really good.
I can’t say much about the plot since I haven’t finished the drama yet, but maybe one day I will. It’s hard for me because I really don’t want to cry, just like I did when I watched A Journey to Love. I prefer happy endings, but from what I’ve read, this one has a logical ending , so it should be fine. Still, I need to take care of my mental health first.
All that aside, I do think this is actually a good drama.
I'm on episode 23 and I really don't like Zhang Wan Yi acting in this drama, at first I wasn't sure if it's his…
It’s okay not to like some of the actors or characters, we all have different preferences, and sometimes they just don’t align with others. I get you. I thought the acting was good, but for me, this drama felt pretty average. Personally, I think an 8.5 rating is a bit too high. Maybe most people felt it was that good, but the highest I’d give it would probably be around 7.5 to 8. That said, I do think the second half of the drama was much better, especially towards the end.
Are there any other dramas with similar vibes to this one? Maybe I’ve watched them and can relate a little. I saw some clips from this drama, but it didn’t quite match my taste, even though I really wanted to watch it when it first aired.
Can someone please convince me to watch this drama? It’s so hard to find one that suits me since Always Home... I love romance, no doubt, but I also enjoy a good slow burn with a bit of tension. The thing is, I always get bored when the couple gets together too early. So please, convince me.... I’m begging you guys! Hahaha.
This drama is currently trending in my country! It may not be number one, but making it to the top three after airing with almost no promotion , I’d say that’s pretty impressive, and I’m actually very happy about it!
qiqi and song cong were not compatible with each other at all, i cldnt ship them at all even when they were tgt,…
Yeah, I realized that. I was just hoping that with some distance and time to grow, they might become a more mature version of themselves and eventually end up in a relationship. They have the chemistry, but they weren’t really compatible with each other, and I get that. They were once just kids, and growing up should change certain things about them. But I guess that’s just me , I was really waiting for them.
i don't think songcong and duman ended up together, it was like an emotional casual thing that happened... or…
Yeah, I saw a live clip where he mentioned that he and Du Man didn’t actually establish their relationship. But oh my gosh, this drama! I was nervous, giggling, and even screaming while watching the tension between the leads. Their eyes, the way they stared at each other, was everything! It’s so rare for me to feel this way, but wow, I absolutely love this drama so much.
This was so good! I loved it so much. I’m just a bit sad that Song Cong and Qi Qi’s ending didn’t turn out the way I had hoped. But it’s okay — some people are just not meant to be together.
As for the leads, I absolutely loved their story! I’d rate it a solid 9, but I’ll give it an 8.5 because I didn’t really enjoy Du Man and Song Cong’s relationship. It felt forced, and I didn’t feel the same chemistry as I did when Song Can fell for Qi Qi at the beginning. Honestly, I’m not even sure what their relationship was since I skipped their scenes quite a lot.
Still, I feel sad that it’s over. Now… how am I supposed to move on? This is like one of the best drama I ever watched
same. it was very mid for me. I didn’t really feel chemistry or angst. I didn’t cry and I cry super easily.…
Yeah, I didn’t cry at all in this one… and I usually cry easily too. I really want to watch a good drama with romance, well-executed fight scenes, and angst—plus, a HE is a must. Unless the story has an OE or SE that makes complete sense and feels justified based on everything that happened, I’d prefer it to have a satisfying conclusion that we can all agree on
Everyone is entitled to his opinion. I watched it explicitly for YCY, the brilliant and charming fl who brings…
appreciate this comment a lot... I watched this because of ycy too, I felt like a proud mom after seeing her improvements in this drama as how bad she was in her previous dramas 😆
I actually hated it a lot. It had every troupe I hated and the first 10 eps were actually comic because she looks…
It’s okay—different people have different opinions. Fortunately, I was able to finish this drama, though I had to fast-forward a lot. Maybe you just didn’t like it, and that’s fine. This drama might just not be for you. Maybe you should try watching something else instead.
It’s actually good to see these kinds of responses because most of what I’ve read have been positive. I was nervous for a while hahahaha
It’s been a while since I’ve watched a really good Chinese drama. Of course, there are plenty out there, but when it comes to personal preference, I feel like everyone has their own taste. We all have our biases when it comes to actors and actresses—some people prefer one actor, while others prefer another. I’m the same way. Sometimes, even if a drama isn’t that great, you still watch it just because you like the actors. Or maybe you don’t—it depends.
When I started watching this drama, I had zero expectations because I only knew the male leads. But surprisingly, I ended up really liking it. The fight scenes and the OST were absolutely amazing. They fit together perfectly, especially when the action kicked in. Of course, the drama has its ups and downs, but those fight scenes, combined with the OST, really stood out. Whenever those moments happened, they made up for the slower or less interesting parts of the drama. It was like they helped "heal" my boredom, and I really appreciated that.
The CGI was also impressive—not the best, but still really well done. In fact, I’d say Youku dramas usually have some of the most beautiful CGI. The acting wasn’t bad either, and the story at the beginning was really strong. It’s pretty rare to see a flirty female lead, and while some might find it annoying, I don’t—at least as long as the dub voice is good.
Overall, the fight scenes and OST left a strong impression on me, and I really loved them.
I agree lol. I’m on episode 20. I want her memories back already
I’m actually okay with the whole amnesia trope, but I hate it when nothing really happens. At least give us some thrills—something exciting that makes us eager to wait for the next episode.
I was especially looking forward to the fight scenes even in other xianxia dramas. I kept waiting for those moments, hoping they’d be intense and well-executed, especially with the OST adding to the atmosphere. You know that feeling when the music and action just click perfectly? But in this drama, it didn’t quite hit that mark for me.
I guess the drama prioritizes the romance more than anything else, which is fine, but I wish they balanced it with some more action or excitement.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but never mind—this is just my personal take. I think this drama is just okay. It’s not bad, but it’s not something that left a lasting impression on me. Even the fight scenes were just decent. They were nice, but not mind-blowing. You know how sometimes, when you watch a fight scene, you get that “Wow, that was amazing!” feeling? That didn’t really happen for me with this drama.
The story itself is good, but again, just okay. I didn’t feel disappointed, but I also didn’t feel like I was watching something incredible that I’d absolutely love. Even the OST was just okay—it’s not bad, but definitely not the most memorable one I’ve heard. The CGI was fine, nothing groundbreaking.
Now, when it comes to the chemistry, I actually liked it, especially in the first 10 episodes when she was his master and he was her apprentice. I really enjoyed those moments because she was flirty, and it made their dynamic fun to watch. But after that, the story was just… nice. Not bad, but not amazing either. Please don’t hate me…sometimes it’s not just for you and it’s okay for anyone else 🙌🏻
I don't really care, but even though the female lead acts childish at times, I can still understand her behavior because traumatic reactions like hers do exist in real life. However, her sister really annoyed me a lot. She’s so slow and seems kind of clueless. I'm talking about the character, not the actress. Her sister never tries to see things from her point of view and is always blaming her. It’s not like people with trauma need to be treated in some overly special way, but the way we treat them should depend on the situation, the context, and everything else that needs to be considered. In this drama, it's not the female lead who stresses me out, it’s her sister.
just done with this one.. not my cup of tea but I've watched until the end. the only part I love is their fighting scenes and also the friendship. the FLs characters are just so unnecessary, I skipped all of their part. they have the most boring and weakest characters. But we can see how love can be turned into obsession would be....but ye yun is a bit different with his background's family, but then to do all the things he does for a someone is just something I can not brain. hopefully I can sober enough if I ever got into this situation. pray for anyone else tooo ❤️
