Is it good? I mean, I’ve watched one of Ao Rui Peng’s dramas before with Tian Xiwei, but I didn’t like it and ended up dropping it. So I’m not really sure how his acting is now, but I’m sure he’s improved… and of course Li Landi, I’ve been a fan of hers since All About Secrets.
But my biggest issue is that I’m not really a fan of mystery-type dramas unless they’re really good. So… any suggestions??
Just finished! I think after episode 20-ish it gets a bit slow, and then only a few episodes later it becomes interesting again but that’s just my opinion.
The acting is great, every single actor did a really good job. The fighting scenes? Gosh, they were amazing. The sibling relationships were incredible too.
The OST? Do I even need to say more? The song Don’t Cry… yeah, that one…. I cried every single time it came on. I cried a lot towards the end.
Everyone who died honestly deserved it, and I also think Princess Xi Yang deserved whatever happened to her. She made my blood boil earlier…
BRO, what is actually wrong with her??!! I swear, Xi Yang might be the dumbest character I’ve ever watched. She keeps breaking her brother’s heart over and over and it hurts. Hopefully she gets her act together soon. I don’t care what her reasons are, she better make it up to her brother. And I’m only on ep 17!!
But this drama is really good though. Even the OSTs are good… I love it. Somehow it reminds me a bit of A Journey to Love.
I just finished watching 38 episodes. The plot holes really make me wonder. 1. If MZY is actually the child of…
Me too… I was confused by the ending. His dad was the Lord Cat, so technically he has a demon bloodline, right? He was probably raised like a human, so he never awakened his demon powers. But after he got the infant core or whatever it was and his powers kind of awakened. Maybe that’s what protected him from dying.
I still think he’s like Wu Zhen, kind of half human, half demon. One more thing, did Wu Zhen ever transform into a full demon? I think she did… maybe I need to rewatch it again… ughhh.
You could watch a few eps to get a feel for the drama to see if it's something that will keep your interest. Also…
I respect your opinion. I just started this drama and I do think he’s good… I mean, he’s always been a good actor. It’s just me and my own issues, that’s on me, not him. After all, this drama has been on my list since before it even finished filming. I just needed some convincing to finally watch it. Right now, I’d say I like it. It doesn’t mean his past dramas made me hate him or anything; they just didn’t work for me. Maybe this drama will be the start of me watching his works again.
Actually, there are actors I’m not a huge fan of, but I still watch some of their dramas, no matter how popular they are or whether their acting is good or bad. I usually read comments, reviews, or watch some clips to get more curious before deciding to watch a drama. I just don’t get why my post got attacked. The last drama of his that I watched was Falling Into Your Smile, and I can see that he’s improved, I’ve seen clips from his newer dramas, so I agree with that. I was simply asking for opinions in this page and this community, and I still got attacked?
If some people got offended by what I said about their favourite actor, I’m sorry, but my opinion is valid to me just like theirs is valid to them. Instead of attacking me and I'm not saying this to you btw, it would be more helpful to tell me about the CGI, the acting, the plot, or the chemistry, because that was my intention in the first place when I asked here.
You're such a weirdo. Why would someone have to convince you to watch it. Who cares!
What is wrong with you ? Calling me weird while taking time out of your day to comment on my post is wild. You clearly care a lot more than you want to admit. Anyway, this isn’t worth another second of my time. I’ve said what I needed to say, and that’s that. I’m blocking you now, and of course you don’t fckn care too right ? I don’t need your attitude or your negativity anywhere near my posts. I don’t get like why am I asking some opinions get twisted into something like this? Bet you live such a pathetic life

Okay, I want to clarify a few things because my words have clearly been misinterpreted. First, I never blamed Xu Kai for anything, nor did I say the drama is bad because of him. When I said I personally don’t click with his acting style, that was purely a statement of my own taste based on his previous dramas, it is not a judgment of his overall ability or of the character in this drama. I understand that an actor might do great in one drama but not resonate with me in another, and that is usually due to factors like the character, the story, the plot, directing, or camera work, not the actor alone. I am not the type of person who blames an actor for this. My comment about his acting being a bit bland was literally just my impression of his style, which is why I’ve struggled to finish some of his past dramas, and not an attack on him as an actor.
I was asking about the plot, chemistry, and character development of this drama simply because I’m curious, not to start a lecture or debate about acting. Mentioning an actor when asking about a drama is normal, and it does not make anything personal, nor does it assign blame to the actor. Your repeated statements that I am making this personal or blaming Xu Kai are a misinterpretation. I never said the drama is bad because of him, and I never accused him of failing in any way. I am aware of character development, which is why I was interested in the drama’s plot and chemistry, exactly the information I was asking about.
I was genuinely interested in watching this drama, and I was just asking for information to see if it might appeal to me. Your response twisted my words and made it seem like it was my fault for even asking, which is unfair. I just wanted to make that clear, and with that, I’m done discussing this and thank you for replying before.
You could watch a few eps to get a feel for the drama to see if it's something that will keep your interest. Also…
Yeah, I know Xu Kai has a huge fanbase and he’s really popular, and I get why his dramas do really well and a lot of people love his acting. It’s just that I’ve tried a few of his shows before and couldn’t finish any of them. No hate at all, he just might not click with me personally. That’s why I was asking for more details about the plot, chemistry, acting and everything. I really do think different actors resonate differently with each of us. Some feel great to watch, some just don’t hit as much
Someone convince me to watch this, please. How’s the plot? does it get boring? How about the chemistry and the acting? Tbh, I’m not really a fan of Xu Kai’s acting... I find him a bit bland… but I’d love to give it a try for Tian Xiwei.
8/10! The acting is superb, and the chemistry is chef’s kiss. Even though I haven’t been in the mood to watch dramas for who knows how long, this one is really good. I cried at every single thing. I love this drama because in most shows of this type, either the ML or FL ends up sacrificing a lot. Yes, I agree the ML sacrifices a bit more than the FL, but they genuinely believe they live and die together, fight together and that’s really nice to watch.
The emotions are a roller coaster, but not the unstable kind. This one feels more balanced: the comedy, the flirting, the romance, the emotional scenes, and always a happy ending. It’s truly satisfying to watch. I love it. I hope I can see more from them, even though it’s rare to get the same actors together again in another series. But still, I love them!
You will get hate bc Bai Lu has the most toxic fans ever! LYT looks nothing like Bai Lu except that profile picture…
Tbh, I didn’t even want to reply to someone like you, but here I am. I bet you’ll be truly fulfilled for the rest of your life, typing out the same hate comments on repeat like it’s your daily vitamin. 😂 It really seems like you’ve chosen this hobby of hating as your lifelong passion, impressive dedication!
Anyway, never mind, you do you. I honestly don’t care. Just please don’t reply to me again. I could never talk about someone as if I’ve known them my whole life, like I’ve been living rent-free in their house… but hey, that’s clearly your hidden talent.
I know I’ll probably get hate for this, but I honestly don’t understand why people keep comparing her to Bai Lu. Maybe it’s because I knew LYT first before Bai Lu. It just makes me sad that people know her mainly through those comparisons, when she actually has some really good dramas.
My favorites were Bloody Romance and Royal Nirvana. Her acting was amazing in both, she just doesn’t get the hype she truly deserves. She really needs to choose her scripts wisely because she is such a good actress. I was so impressed with her performances in those two dramas.
No hate towards Bai Lu, maybe there are some similarities, but I saw a lot of negative comments comparing them and downgrading LYT, and she doesn’t deserve that at all. She works so hard for herself. Nobody deserves to be constantly compared to someone else; they each have their own journey and their own unique beauty.
Edit: I don’t want to talk to a trash so I blocked Shen li. Don’t want to ruin my eyes seeing her comments. Trash always be a trash right, probably even worse than trash.
The drama itself felt pretty slow at the beginning or maybe I just didn’t fully get the humor. It was funny, but that was about it for me at first. I decided to keep watching a few more episodes, and then it really started to grow on me.
To be honest, yes, the FL does come off as clueless, probably because she had read the script before and thought she already knew the entire plot. That’s why she stuck so strongly to what she believed would happen based on that script. Meanwhile, the ML just played his role naturally without knowing what was real or not, unlike the FL. It was honestly painful to watch him get hurt like that…
But overall, the drama definitely grew on me.... the acting, the story, everything.
After watching the latest episodes, I finally feel ready to comment. To be honest, I don’t usually enjoy this type of drama, maybe my sense of humor just doesn’t match it. There are a few other dramas with a similar concept that I managed to finish, but I ended up skipping a lot, and it’s the same with this one.
For me, the drama was just okay… until the latest two episodes. I started liking it more and really paid attention when things began to shift and felt different from the script she had read before. Since I already decided to give it a try, I might as well stick it out until the end. Hopefully, it keeps getting better!
She wasn’t dubbed here. Li Yitong’s used her own voice in most of her drama
True… but I also noticed a lot of comments saying she looks or sounds like Bai Lu. Personally, I don’t really see it... she’s always like this too. Maybe it’s just because she’s not as popular as Bai Lu, so some people aren’t as familiar with Li Yitong yet.
I have started this, and although it looks beautiful, the acting is good, I am finding it very slow, like reading…
I can’t remember every detail, but I’d say the plot moves steadily without big gaps, so you’re less likely to feel bored. It might not have major events in every episode, but there’s always something happening to keep it going. Just give it a bit more time and be patient, I tried not to fast forward when I watched it before, and I’m glad I didn’t. The twist near the end was totally worth the patience I held throughout!
Probably going to get some hate for this, but I used to skip the FL’s dramas, her acting just didn’t click with me personally, which is more about my own preferences than anything else. That said, since Wang Anyu is in this one, I’m definitely thinking of giving it a try once it’s out. I’m excited to see him in a high production drama, he truly deserves it.
P.S. No hate to Esther at all. Nothing I said here is meant to be hateful. Just sharing my personal thoughts, but I know some fans might take it the wrong way.
But my biggest issue is that I’m not really a fan of mystery-type dramas unless they’re really good. So… any suggestions??

Solid 8/10! Or maybe a bit higher hahahaha
