Person Liu Hao Cun
People who say she can’t act probably have only watched her dramas. Her dramas are good, but I don’t think most of them really show her full acting potential compared to her movies. Her films are usually much deeper and more emotional, and she delivers really well in them. She doesn’t even need kiss scenes to make her performances impactful.

Unless she gets cast in dramas with strong plots that allow her to show the same depth she shows in her movies, people won’t really see what she’s capable of. That’s why I really want to see her in more dramas especially historical or wuxia/xianxia ones. Even if the romance is minimal, I’d be totally fine with that as long as she gets to showcase her acting.

I honestly want to see her prove the haters wrong.

Here’s my thought. I kind of forced myself to watch this drama, just like I did with LOTFG. Both start off pretty slow. This one is slow because there’s honestly not much going on until the last 10–15 episodes. There aren’t big plots like wars, major fights, or intense conflicts early on, so I get why some people might find it boring.

But personally? I loved their relationship , it was soooo cuteeee. I was really impressed by Cheng Lei in this drama; it really showed how versatile he is. The chemistry, the acting, and the OSTs? OMG, amazing. I especially love how they act with their eyes, you can really feel the emotions without them saying much. And yes, I cried a lot towards the end. Their love just hit me hard 😭

The OSTs are honestly my favourite part. The opening theme even made me feel like I was about to watch Harry Potter or something magical. The other songs were really good too.

I know some people will compare this drama to LOTFG, but please don’t, they’re completely different. LOTFG focuses more on revenge, military strategy, and war and romance. This drama is different. Even though the FL is a general, the story mostly focuses on their romance, how they met, how they fell in love, and how they slowly built trust with each other. That part is pretty long, and I do think it could’ve been shorter.

This drama feels like watching a supernatural hero story but set in a historical world. And yes, it definitely focuses more on romance than LOTFG, and it goes deeper emotionally.

Overall, it’s an 8/10 from me.

I can’t finish this one. First of all, I really don’t like the whole idea of Li Landi having to wear a filter to be “prettier” than herself. I get what the drama is trying to say that the ML falls for her no matter how she looks and that he loved her from the start but I just can’t get past that concept. I mean just make her prettier because she’s already pretty, but it’s just a drama…so I get it, ugghh.

So I ended up just watching a bunch of clips instead… and honestly? It’s hilarious. Really funny overall, except for a few things I just can’t overlook.

Just finished it. I’d say the first 10 episodes kind of bored me, but after that I really liked it especially up until he found out who she was. I loved the military plotlines, the fight scenes, and their chemistry. Their relationship before he knew her identity was my favourite part that wanting each other but not being able to tension was so good.

I kind of lost interest after they got together, though. Maybe it’s because I was really invested in the military aspects. The last few episodes felt a bit boring to me since the focus shifted more towards romance. It’s not that their romantic scenes weren’t good, it’s just my personal preference. I liked them better when the romance existed alongside bigger things happening, rather than becoming the main focus.

I’m not sure if that makes sense, but when the plot is really strong, I personally prefer less romance, just enough to be there without taking over the story.

Overall, it’s an 8/10 for me. The editing is pretty bad, thank god the plot saves it for me.

Hmm, I’m on episode 10 now… I definitely love a strong FL, and they do have good chemistry together. The fighting scenes are great too. But the story feels pretty slow for me, somehow it’s still enjoyable, though.

I started watching this right after finishing Coroner’s Diary, and I can really feel the difference. This drama doesn’t execute the episode endings very well. Every time an episode ends, I’m just like, “Huh? That’s it?” At least give me something that makes me want to immediately watch the next episode.

Still, it’s watchable, especially since I have nothing else to watch right now.

To be honest, I’m not really a fan of this type of drama. Murder cases, mystery, investigation heavy stories, I usually avoid them because they often feel too long, draggy, and sometimes boring. I tend to lose interest pretty quickly when watching this genre. But this one, completely surprised me.

Once I started, the story and plot kept me hooked. It didn’t feel draggy at all, and I found myself wanting to continue watching episode after episode. One thing I really loved was how the FL and ML worked together, they supported each other, trusted each other, and even sacrificed for one another. I’m a huge fan of that kind of partnership dynamic.

The ending especially satisfied me. I liked that both leads stayed true to who they were. They didn’t suddenly change or abandon their principles, they continued doing what they believed was right, just as they had from the beginning. I also found it very satisfying that all the sinners and villains met their own ends without the leads having to dirty their hands. Watching everything unfold while the leads stood firm in their values felt incredibly rewarding.

As for the romance, I was surprised in a good way. Normally, when a drama like this already has a strong plot, I actually prefer little to no romance because it can feel unnecessary or forced. But here, the romance was perfectly balanced. It wasn’t cringy, it wasn’t excessive, and it didn’t take away from the main story. It was just… right.

In terms of acting, Li Landi is a fantastic actress and that’s nothing new. But I was especially impressed by Ao Rui Peng. His performance really stood out to me, and I genuinely enjoyed watching him in this role. Overall, the acting, story, and execution were all great.

I’m giving this drama a solid 8/10. The only reason I’m not rating it higher is simply because this genre isn’t usually my preference. Would I rewatch it? Probably but not anytime soon. Maybe later, when I’m out of things to watch.

I was actually quite hesitant to start this drama at first. I even asked for opinions and initially decided not to watch it. But a few days ago, since I had nothing else to watch, I pushed myself to give it a chance and I’m really glad I did. One episode was all it took. I ended up loving it.

On Be Passionately in Love Dec 16, 2025
You don’t get how much I love this drama. I love their acting so much, and I feel like I can really relate to them especially Xu Zhi. I can definitely see myself in her. Their acting feels so natural, and I love how expressive they are with just their eyes.

I understand that some people might not like this drama, especially if they’ve read the novel. It’s always hard to please fans when an adaptation doesn’t fully do justice to the source material. I also get that the title is Passionately, but there are no kissing scenes at all. Being passionately in love doesn’t have to involve kissing or intimate bed scenes. Of course, as an adaptation, it’s expected to follow the novel.

Personally, I have no issue with the lack of those scenes. If you feel like you can’t enjoy a romance drama without them, I think that’s more of a personal preference, romance can be shown in so many ways, and not just through kisses.

I know this drama might feel slow for some people, and they may not enjoy it, but some, like me will really love it. After all, this is one of the very few dramas this year that I’ve watched and genuinely liked.

I just started a couple days ago and I’m halfway through - the story is more clear but I’m still not hooked…
I’ve watched this drama before and remember rating it pretty low, so I decided to give it another try… but I still couldn’t finish it. The story is good, and the acting is good too, yet somehow I just don’t feel the chemistry or connection between them.

What’s strange is that I already felt this way the first time I watched it, so it’s clearly not just my mood. A lot of people really love this drama and I respect their opinions, but I can’t help wondering why I don’t feel the same way.

I usually enjoy this type of drama, which makes it a little disappointing. I really wanted to like it, but it just didn’t click for me.

Rewatching this for the second time… and this is seriously a good one for me. They do everything together, which is actually rare in most xianxia/wuxia dramas. He sacrificed for her, she did the same, and sometimes they even did it together.

I’ve always loved good fighting scenes, plus solid CGI, and this drama really delivers on that. And the OST? That just gives me goosebumps.

Some people might feel this drama isn’t their cup of tea, but it’s definitely worth giving a try.

Ohh, I get it … it’s totally fine not to like it. Sometimes we watch dramas because of our favourite actors and still don’t enjoy them, and other times we watch actors we’re not fans of and end up liking the drama. It can really go either way too.

I’ve just started it bit slow, but it’s pretty okay for me so far. Hopefully it gets better after a few more episodes, especially since none of the actors are my favourites. I don’t have high expectations anyway, so as long as I’m enjoying it, that’s good enough.

Pretty good I cried a bit
Wow, I actually like dramas that make me cry… because it really shows how good their acting is. When a drama makes me cry, it feels so satisfying.

I kind of want to wait for a while before starting it, but ugh… this is one of the few dramas that’s really caught my attention lately, especially after Love in the Clouds.

Really? If you don’t mind me asking, why? Is it her voice or her acting? I personally think her acting is pretty okay, but the voice… yeah, that’s my issue. And I know that’s just her natural voice, so there’s not much she can do about it. Still, it’s one of the reasons I don’t really watch her dramas anymore, except for her earliest ones.

I just watched a sneak peaked from TikTok , it seems interesting…I have watched both of their dramas before. I’m not really a big fan of he yu before, but based on what I saw a bit, it was pretty good I think. And Esther, watch her first 2 earliest dramas before…she’s okay, definitely better these days based on her popularity and all…might as well start watching their drama again this time..anyone that has watched few eps, how was it?

On Wan Peng Dec 4, 2025
Person Wan Peng
Wan Peng is a good actress, but I feel she needs to explore more variety in her roles for her acting to become more versatile. Some people may ask why she’s still getting 2nd roles even though she has already played a few main leads. This is just what I understand from my own observation.

She started her career with modern dramas, and in general, modern dramas tend to have lower budgets. It’s usually easier for actors to get main lead roles in those compared to high-budget productions like wuxia or xianxia. To secure a big main role in a high budget drama, actors often need to prove themselves even as a second lead first, especially in bigger productions where expectations are higher. It somehow can help them to get bigger but this is just my opinion.

But there are also actors who get main lead roles in big budget dramas pretty easily. Sometimes it depends on their acting, how popular their past dramas were, or maybe even their connections. There are a few actors I can list like Shen Yue and Miles Wei but I’m not saying these are the only reasons they don’t get cast as a main lead big dramas. These are just some of the possible reasons. And once again, my post is not meant for attacking actors that I've mentioned, negatively or positively...I'm just sharing my opinion as a someone who has been following her since when we were young.

Many people have gushed about its mysteries, plots, and characters, but from my point of view, having watched years…
Thank you! I was waiting for someone to reply. In that case, I won’t be watching it… I’m honestly so bored and I’ve finished most of the popular historical/wuxia/xianxia dramas this year. I’ve tried a few times to convince myself to watch this one, but ugh, it’s just so hard…

Is it good? I mean, I’ve watched one of Ao Rui Peng’s dramas before with Tian Xiwei, but I didn’t like it and ended up dropping it. So I’m not really sure how his acting is now, but I’m sure he’s improved… and of course Li Landi, I’ve been a fan of hers since All About Secrets.

But my biggest issue is that I’m not really a fan of mystery-type dramas unless they’re really good. So… any suggestions??

Just finished! I think after episode 20-ish it gets a bit slow, and then only a few episodes later it becomes interesting again but that’s just my opinion.

The acting is great, every single actor did a really good job. The fighting scenes? Gosh, they were amazing. The sibling relationships were incredible too.

The OST? Do I even need to say more? The song Don’t Cry… yeah, that one…. I cried every single time it came on. I cried a lot towards the end.

Everyone who died honestly deserved it, and I also think Princess Xi Yang deserved whatever happened to her. She made my blood boil earlier…

Solid 8/10! Or maybe a bit higher hahahaha

BRO, what is actually wrong with her??!! I swear, Xi Yang might be the dumbest character I’ve ever watched. She keeps breaking her brother’s heart over and over and it hurts. Hopefully she gets her act together soon. I don’t care what her reasons are, she better make it up to her brother. And I’m only on ep 17!!

But this drama is really good though. Even the OSTs are good… I love it. Somehow it reminds me a bit of A Journey to Love.

I just finished watching 38 episodes. The plot holes really make me wonder. 1. If MZY is actually the child of…
Me too… I was confused by the ending. His dad was the Lord Cat, so technically he has a demon bloodline, right? He was probably raised like a human, so he never awakened his demon powers. But after he got the infant core or whatever it was and his powers kind of awakened. Maybe that’s what protected him from dying.

I still think he’s like Wu Zhen, kind of half human, half demon. One more thing, did Wu Zhen ever transform into a full demon? I think she did… maybe I need to rewatch it again… ughhh.
