You could watch a few eps to get a feel for the drama to see if it's something that will keep your interest. Also…
I respect your opinion. I just started this drama and I do think heās good⦠I mean, heās always been a good actor. Itās just me and my own issues, thatās on me, not him. After all, this drama has been on my list since before it even finished filming. I just needed some convincing to finally watch it. Right now, Iād say I like it. It doesnāt mean his past dramas made me hate him or anything; they just didnāt work for me. Maybe this drama will be the start of me watching his works again.
Actually, there are actors Iām not a huge fan of, but I still watch some of their dramas, no matter how popular they are or whether their acting is good or bad. I usually read comments, reviews, or watch some clips to get more curious before deciding to watch a drama. I just donāt get why my post got attacked. The last drama of his that I watched was Falling Into Your Smile, and I can see that heās improved, Iāve seen clips from his newer dramas, so I agree with that. I was simply asking for opinions in this page and this community, and I still got attacked?
If some people got offended by what I said about their favourite actor, Iām sorry, but my opinion is valid to me just like theirs is valid to them. Instead of attacking me and I'm not saying this to you btw, it would be more helpful to tell me about the CGI, the acting, the plot, or the chemistry, because that was my intention in the first place when I asked here.
You're such a weirdo. Why would someone have to convince you to watch it. Who cares!
What is wrong with you ? Calling me weird while taking time out of your day to comment on my post is wild. You clearly care a lot more than you want to admit. Anyway, this isnāt worth another second of my time. Iāve said what I needed to say, and thatās that. Iām blocking you now, and of course you donāt fckn care too right ? I donāt need your attitude or your negativity anywhere near my posts. I donāt get like why am I asking some opinions get twisted into something like this? Bet you live such a pathetic life
In cdrama land, we have a chance of seeing them reunite especially bc they're a popular ship in China! Lets hope…
Yeah, hopefully they will āš» the obsession I have now is not healthy for me, helpā¦what do you mean Iāve been watching their videos all day long š¤§

Okay, I want to clarify a few things because my words have clearly been misinterpreted. First, I never blamed Xu Kai for anything, nor did I say the drama is bad because of him. When I said I personally donāt click with his acting style, that was purely a statement of my own taste based on his previous dramas, it is not a judgment of his overall ability or of the character in this drama. I understand that an actor might do great in one drama but not resonate with me in another, and that is usually due to factors like the character, the story, the plot, directing, or camera work, not the actor alone. I am not the type of person who blames an actor for this. My comment about his acting being a bit bland was literally just my impression of his style, which is why Iāve struggled to finish some of his past dramas, and not an attack on him as an actor.
I was asking about the plot, chemistry, and character development of this drama simply because Iām curious, not to start a lecture or debate about acting. Mentioning an actor when asking about a drama is normal, and it does not make anything personal, nor does it assign blame to the actor. Your repeated statements that I am making this personal or blaming Xu Kai are a misinterpretation. I never said the drama is bad because of him, and I never accused him of failing in any way. I am aware of character development, which is why I was interested in the dramaās plot and chemistry, exactly the information I was asking about.
I was genuinely interested in watching this drama, and I was just asking for information to see if it might appeal to me. Your response twisted my words and made it seem like it was my fault for even asking, which is unfair. I just wanted to make that clear, and with that, Iām done discussing this and thank you for replying before.

Yeah, I know Xu Kai has a huge fanbase and heās really popular, and I get why his dramas do really well and a lot of people love his acting. Itās just that Iāve tried a few of his shows before and couldnāt finish any of them. No hate at all, he just might not click with me personally. Thatās why I was asking for more details about the plot, chemistry, acting and everything. I really do think different actors resonate differently with each of us. Some feel great to watch, some just donāt hit as much
Someone convince me to watch this, please. Howās the plot? does it get boring? How about the chemistry and the acting? Tbh, Iām not really a fan of Xu Kaiās acting... I find him a bit bland⦠but Iād love to give it a try for Tian Xiwei.
8/10! The acting is superb, and the chemistry is chefās kiss. Even though I havenāt been in the mood to watch dramas for who knows how long, this one is really good. I cried at every single thing. I love this drama because in most shows of this type, either the ML or FL ends up sacrificing a lot. Yes, I agree the ML sacrifices a bit more than the FL, but they genuinely believe they live and die together, fight together and thatās really nice to watch.
The emotions are a roller coaster, but not the unstable kind. This one feels more balanced: the comedy, the flirting, the romance, the emotional scenes, and always a happy ending. Itās truly satisfying to watch. I love it. I hope I can see more from them, even though itās rare to get the same actors together again in another series. But still, I love them!
You will get hate bc Bai Lu has the most toxic fans ever! LYT looks nothing like Bai Lu except that profile picture…
Tbh, I didnāt even want to reply to someone like you, but here I am. I bet youāll be truly fulfilled for the rest of your life, typing out the same hate comments on repeat like itās your daily vitamin. š It really seems like youāve chosen this hobby of hating as your lifelong passion, impressive dedication!
Anyway, never mind, you do you. I honestly donāt care. Just please donāt reply to me again. I could never talk about someone as if Iāve known them my whole life, like Iāve been living rent-free in their house⦠but hey, thatās clearly your hidden talent.
I know Iāll probably get hate for this, but I honestly donāt understand why people keep comparing her to Bai Lu. Maybe itās because I knew LYT first before Bai Lu. It just makes me sad that people know her mainly through those comparisons, when she actually has some really good dramas.
My favorites were Bloody Romance and Royal Nirvana. Her acting was amazing in both, she just doesnāt get the hype she truly deserves. She really needs to choose her scripts wisely because she is such a good actress. I was so impressed with her performances in those two dramas.
No hate towards Bai Lu, maybe there are some similarities, but I saw a lot of negative comments comparing them and downgrading LYT, and she doesnāt deserve that at all. She works so hard for herself. Nobody deserves to be constantly compared to someone else; they each have their own journey and their own unique beauty.
Edit: I donāt want to talk to a trash so I blocked Shen li. Donāt want to ruin my eyes seeing her comments. Trash always be a trash right, probably even worse than trash.
The drama itself felt pretty slow at the beginning or maybe I just didnāt fully get the humor. It was funny, but that was about it for me at first. I decided to keep watching a few more episodes, and then it really started to grow on me.
To be honest, yes, the FL does come off as clueless, probably because she had read the script before and thought she already knew the entire plot. Thatās why she stuck so strongly to what she believed would happen based on that script. Meanwhile, the ML just played his role naturally without knowing what was real or not, unlike the FL. It was honestly painful to watch him get hurt like thatā¦
But overall, the drama definitely grew on me.... the acting, the story, everything.
After watching the latest episodes, I finally feel ready to comment. To be honest, I donāt usually enjoy this type of drama, maybe my sense of humor just doesnāt match it. There are a few other dramas with a similar concept that I managed to finish, but I ended up skipping a lot, and itās the same with this one.
For me, the drama was just okay⦠until the latest two episodes. I started liking it more and really paid attention when things began to shift and felt different from the script she had read before. Since I already decided to give it a try, I might as well stick it out until the end. Hopefully, it keeps getting better!
She wasnāt dubbed here. Li Yitongās used her own voice in most of her drama
True⦠but I also noticed a lot of comments saying she looks or sounds like Bai Lu. Personally, I donāt really see it... sheās always like this too. Maybe itās just because sheās not as popular as Bai Lu, so some people arenāt as familiar with Li Yitong yet.
I have started this, and although it looks beautiful, the acting is good, I am finding it very slow, like reading…
I canāt remember every detail, but Iād say the plot moves steadily without big gaps, so youāre less likely to feel bored. It might not have major events in every episode, but thereās always something happening to keep it going. Just give it a bit more time and be patient, I tried not to fast forward when I watched it before, and Iām glad I didnāt. The twist near the end was totally worth the patience I held throughout!
Probably going to get some hate for this, but I used to skip the FLās dramas, her acting just didnāt click with me personally, which is more about my own preferences than anything else. That said, since Wang Anyu is in this one, Iām definitely thinking of giving it a try once itās out. Iām excited to see him in a high production drama, he truly deserves it.
P.S. No hate to Esther at all. Nothing I said here is meant to be hateful. Just sharing my personal thoughts, but I know some fans might take it the wrong way.
Watching this drama was more of a slow burn for me, but Iād still give it a solid 8. Itās not the kind of genre I usually go for, and to be honest, I wasnāt a big fan of the ML at firstā¦.though I know a lot of people here are! But the story really surprised me, and the acting was genuinely good.
There werenāt really any episodes that bored me, although Iād say some were just okay. I might get some hate for saying that, hahah. Iām not sure if Iāll ever rewatch it⦠maybe one day. You know those dramas that are so good, you donāt rewatch them, but they stay with you for years? Thatās how this one feels for me. The last time I felt this way was with JOY 1, which was phenomenal at the time.
All in all, this was a good drama, definitely memorable. I might even start checking out more of the MLās dramas after this.
Itās a slow-paced drama with no real kiss scenes, only fake ones. The actress, in my opinion, acts quite naturally,…
Itās a pretty huge reveal, but not entirely shocking. I picked up on a few clues along the way, so I kind of saw it coming. Still, it did hit me at one point. Was it deep? Not really. They didnāt dive too deeply into it, but the explanation was there, mostly through a conversation between him and his mom.
The drama is quite short, so I understand why they didnāt explore the FLās and MLās pasts or traumas in more depth. Personally, I wouldāve preferred if they had gone deeper into their backstories, so it wouldāve made the story feel more grounded and relevant. But at the same time, Iām kind of glad they didnāt overload it with too much drama. This series feels more like a palette cleanser after watching something heavyā¦itās light enough to enjoy without getting too stressed by complex plots.
Itās a slow-paced drama with no real kiss scenes, only fake ones. The actress, in my opinion, acts quite naturally, though it might not come across that way to everyone. If youāre able to finish it once you start, youāll begin to understand why her character is written the way she is. I personally enjoyed it, just like some others here, but of course, not everyone feels the same.
If youāre into fast-paced, heavy-plot xianxia dramas, then this might not be for you. Itās more subtle than emotionally driven action-packed.
Be Passionately in Love opens with a Douban score of 6.4 from 24000+ RatersThree āļø accounted for the highest…
Considering that on Douban, good idol dramas usually around a 7 rating, I think this one actually did a pretty good job. It might not be perfect, but it holds up well especially when you realize that some even more popular dramas only get around 5+ ratings despite having way more users rating them. So yeah, itās probably not fair to directly compare, but this one isnāt so bad after all.
Of course, the drama does lack in quite a few areas particularly in the writing, execution, direction, and editing. Still, all things considered, itās a pretty decent watch overall. it's still good for me, like I'm obsess with them
I actually started watching this drama years ago, but back then I was just watching it out of boredom..... so I kind of fast forwarded through almost everything. I even rewatched it a few times without really paying much attention⦠until yesterday. I finally gave it a proper watch, and I didnāt expect to end up crying so much. Itās really good. I especially love the scenes where the FL and ML fight side by side and the OST adds so much emotion to those moments.
As for Suying⦠gosh, that character. She plays the victim all the time. She has major main character syndrome, selfish, obsessive, and clearly dealing with serious mental issues. She always thinks sheās right and everyone else is wrong, constantly blaming Tian Yao for literally everything in her life. Like, seriously, none of it was his fault. And even at the end of her life, sheās still wishing him harm? What is wrong with her?
Anyway, despite all that, I really loved this drama. Solid 8/10 for me.
