Person Li Yi Tong
I know I’ll probably get hate for this, but I honestly don’t understand why people keep comparing her to Bai Lu. Maybe it’s because I knew LYT first before Bai Lu. It just makes me sad that people know her mainly through those comparisons, when she actually has some really good dramas.

My favorites were Bloody Romance and Royal Nirvana. Her acting was amazing in both, she just doesn’t get the hype she truly deserves. She really needs to choose her scripts wisely because she is such a good actress. I was so impressed with her performances in those two dramas.

No hate towards Bai Lu, maybe there are some similarities, but I saw a lot of negative comments comparing them and downgrading LYT, and she doesn’t deserve that at all. She works so hard for herself. Nobody deserves to be constantly compared to someone else; they each have their own journey and their own unique beauty.

Edit: I don’t want to talk to a trash so I blocked Shen li. Don’t want to ruin my eyes seeing her comments. Trash always be a trash right, probably even worse than trash.

The drama itself felt pretty slow at the beginning or maybe I just didn’t fully get the humor. It was funny, but that was about it for me at first. I decided to keep watching a few more episodes, and then it really started to grow on me.

To be honest, yes, the FL does come off as clueless, probably because she had read the script before and thought she already knew the entire plot. That’s why she stuck so strongly to what she believed would happen based on that script. Meanwhile, the ML just played his role naturally without knowing what was real or not, unlike the FL. It was honestly painful to watch him get hurt like that…

But overall, the drama definitely grew on me.... the acting, the story, everything.

After watching the latest episodes, I finally feel ready to comment. To be honest, I don’t usually enjoy this type of drama, maybe my sense of humor just doesn’t match it. There are a few other dramas with a similar concept that I managed to finish, but I ended up skipping a lot, and it’s the same with this one.

For me, the drama was just okay… until the latest two episodes. I started liking it more and really paid attention when things began to shift and felt different from the script she had read before. Since I already decided to give it a try, I might as well stick it out until the end. Hopefully, it keeps getting better!

She wasn’t dubbed here. Li Yitong’s used her own voice in most of her drama
True… but I also noticed a lot of comments saying she looks or sounds like Bai Lu. Personally, I don’t really see it... she’s always like this too. Maybe it’s just because she’s not as popular as Bai Lu, so some people aren’t as familiar with Li Yitong yet.

I have started this, and although it looks beautiful, the acting is good, I am finding it very slow, like reading…
I can’t remember every detail, but I’d say the plot moves steadily without big gaps, so you’re less likely to feel bored. It might not have major events in every episode, but there’s always something happening to keep it going. Just give it a bit more time and be patient, I tried not to fast forward when I watched it before, and I’m glad I didn’t. The twist near the end was totally worth the patience I held throughout!

Probably going to get some hate for this, but I used to skip the FL’s dramas, her acting just didn’t click with me personally, which is more about my own preferences than anything else. That said, since Wang Anyu is in this one, I’m definitely thinking of giving it a try once it’s out. I’m excited to see him in a high production drama, he truly deserves it.

P.S. No hate to Esther at all. Nothing I said here is meant to be hateful. Just sharing my personal thoughts, but I know some fans might take it the wrong way.

Watching this drama was more of a slow burn for me, but I’d still give it a solid 8. It’s not the kind of genre I usually go for, and to be honest, I wasn’t a big fan of the ML at first….though I know a lot of people here are! But the story really surprised me, and the acting was genuinely good.

There weren’t really any episodes that bored me, although I’d say some were just okay. I might get some hate for saying that, hahah. I’m not sure if I’ll ever rewatch it… maybe one day. You know those dramas that are so good, you don’t rewatch them, but they stay with you for years? That’s how this one feels for me. The last time I felt this way was with JOY 1, which was phenomenal at the time.

All in all, this was a good drama, definitely memorable. I might even start checking out more of the ML’s dramas after this.

Title Be Passionately in Love Spoiler
It’s a slow-paced drama with no real kiss scenes, only fake ones. The actress, in my opinion, acts quite naturally,…
It’s a pretty huge reveal, but not entirely shocking. I picked up on a few clues along the way, so I kind of saw it coming. Still, it did hit me at one point. Was it deep? Not really. They didn’t dive too deeply into it, but the explanation was there, mostly through a conversation between him and his mom.

The drama is quite short, so I understand why they didn’t explore the FL’s and ML’s pasts or traumas in more depth. Personally, I would’ve preferred if they had gone deeper into their backstories, so it would’ve made the story feel more grounded and relevant. But at the same time, I’m kind of glad they didn’t overload it with too much drama. This series feels more like a palette cleanser after watching something heavy…it’s light enough to enjoy without getting too stressed by complex plots.

How is it bro ? Worth watching ?
It’s a slow-paced drama with no real kiss scenes, only fake ones. The actress, in my opinion, acts quite naturally, though it might not come across that way to everyone. If you’re able to finish it once you start, you’ll begin to understand why her character is written the way she is. I personally enjoyed it, just like some others here, but of course, not everyone feels the same.

If you’re into fast-paced, heavy-plot xianxia dramas, then this might not be for you. It’s more subtle than emotionally driven action-packed.

Be Passionately in Love opens with a Douban score of 6.4 from 24000+ RatersThree ⭐️ accounted for the highest…
Considering that on Douban, good idol dramas usually around a 7 rating, I think this one actually did a pretty good job. It might not be perfect, but it holds up well especially when you realize that some even more popular dramas only get around 5+ ratings despite having way more users rating them. So yeah, it’s probably not fair to directly compare, but this one isn’t so bad after all.

Of course, the drama does lack in quite a few areas particularly in the writing, execution, direction, and editing. Still, all things considered, it’s a pretty decent watch overall. it's still good for me, like I'm obsess with them

I actually started watching this drama years ago, but back then I was just watching it out of boredom..... so I kind of fast forwarded through almost everything. I even rewatched it a few times without really paying much attention… until yesterday. I finally gave it a proper watch, and I didn’t expect to end up crying so much. It’s really good. I especially love the scenes where the FL and ML fight side by side and the OST adds so much emotion to those moments.

As for Suying… gosh, that character. She plays the victim all the time. She has major main character syndrome, selfish, obsessive, and clearly dealing with serious mental issues. She always thinks she’s right and everyone else is wrong, constantly blaming Tian Yao for literally everything in her life. Like, seriously, none of it was his fault. And even at the end of her life, she’s still wishing him harm? What is wrong with her?

Anyway, despite all that, I really loved this drama. Solid 8/10 for me.

I think people are being too harsh. Just imagine them kissing passionately problem solved 😭 because apart from…
Yeah, I almost stopped watching this drama before because of all the hate comments on this page… but honestly, I felt the drama was good enough for me, so I kept going and ended up finishing it. I kept telling people it’s really not that bad and believe it or not, most of the hate actually started because of that first fake kiss. That’s honestly the main reason. I don’t even think the acting or chemistry was the real problem, because some people, including me, did feel the chemistry between them

Nah, he was completely crazy in the novel too. Like a lost puppy, stuck in his own jealous world without any sympathy…
Wahh, they’re really like that in the novel?! That actually sounds worse than how it was adapted in the drama. I do like this drama, but I agree there are moments where it feels like she doesn’t give him anything, while he’s willing to do everything for her. The drama could’ve been so much better if the writers and producers managed to balance their characters more, so it wouldn’t feel so onesided.

ah I'm only commenting about how cute certains parts are but I can't help it. Despite the low rating and complains…
You should be glad there are fewer people coming here compared to before, at least now you can actually enjoy commenting like this! When I first came here, 99% of the page was filled with criticism and hate 😭
I honestly suffered not having anyone who enjoyed it as much as I did

Glad I’m not the only one! I didn’t really enjoy commenting on this page before since it was full of people who didn’t like the drama as much as I did. It’s pretty hard to agree to disagree when most of the comments are just full-on criticisms 😂

already wrote this on my review but as much as i loved WIFTY (my top 1 cdrama), BPIL hit me on an entirely different…
While I’m not a fan of WIFTY, I’ve never left any negative comments on the page. Surprisingly, this drama turned out to be really good. I honestly didn’t mind the kiss scenes, I barely focused on them. What stood out more was the story, the chemistry, and especially the way they looked at each other? chef’s kiss!

Each character had their own emotional baggage, and I really think the drama could’ve been even better if they had explored more of their backstories. Show us why she’s so emotionally closed off, and why he turned out the way he did—then let them heal each other. That would’ve added way more depth, instead of focusing too much on the so-called “passion” in the first half.

Still, I genuinely enjoyed this drama too!

Thankfully, I’ve started seeing more positive comments about this drama after days of non-stop criticism especially toward the FL. I just finished it, and honestly, I’d rate it a solid 8, maybe even 8.5. Not just because I like both leads (I do), but it’s not like I’ve followed all their projects before this.

Now that I’ve seen the whole thing, I finally understand why the FL character acted the way she did. I always felt like something was missing from her, but I realized she started to change emotionally after resolving things with her mother. That’s when she began showing more emotion, and it clicked.

1. The story itself was really good. The acting felt natural—light enough to enjoy, yet it still managed to hit emotionally in key scenes.
2. I didn’t skip much (except the fake kiss scenes), which says a lot, because I usually skip a lot when watching dramas.
3. I loved the increase in physical affection in the last few episodes. The directors should’ve done that sooner instead of forcing awkward fake kisses early on.
4. My favorite scene was their breakup before college, it was so beautifully done and emotionally raw.
5. The ML’s character carried so much emotional depth. Anyu did an amazing job. I cried with him more than once.
6. Liu Haocun did a pretty good job too. I’m honestly glad I finished this drama because now I understand why her character felt so emotionless at first. She did show care and concern later on even if some might still find it minimal.

I hope Liu Haocun can show people she gets better in the romance genre because she really is a good actress, and hopefully Anyu gets more main roles and more high-budget dramas too.

Please consider watching this drama, it’s not that bad. Except… yeah, they really should’ve changed the title since they changed a lot of the passionate elements from the novel. But of course, they couldn’t because it’s an adaptation. Still, they should’ve never added the fake kisses, it really messed up the drama’s image right from the start.

People might think I’m some hardcore fan or whatever, but honestly, I’ve only watched one of her projects.…
I don’t even know for sure whether she auditioned or not, some comments said she did, and that’s why she was cast. But honestly, it feels like some people just want to hate her no matter what. I said what I said. 🤷‍♀️

Did you see the comments on that page? Gosh, I honestly don’t understand how people can blame her just for getting cast after auditioning. She didn’t force her way in — she was chosen because the production team and directors believed she fit the role. That’s on them, not her.

It’s the director’s job to guide the actors and bring the scenes to life, especially since they chose to adapt a novel. They should’ve already had a clear vision of how they wanted things to look, especially for emotionally intimate scenes. And the writer’s job is to deliver a strong script and let’s be honest, some parts of it were just… miserable.

If people want to say she wasn’t perfect for the role because she lacks that “intimacy” or romantic chemistry, fine, I get it. But again, that’s why direction exists. She’s still new in this area, and clearly inexperienced with romance scenes. So why didn’t the directors help her improve or guide her through it? If they knew there were going to be restrictions (like no kissing), then it was their responsibility to adjust and plan around that from the start.

She auditioned, she got the part, that’s not her fault. So why is the blame being placed solely on her when the bigger responsibility clearly lies with the production team? And if people want to say “it’s her job,” then please look at her past projects. Most of them had little to no focus on romance, so obviously, she’s new to this genre. That’s exactly why the directors should’ve guided her better. Also, some are saying she wasn’t well-known before this drama, are you sure about that? Her performance in Derailment definitely caught people’s attention, and that wasn’t even a romance-heavy story. She proved herself in that role, and just because this one didn’t fully land for some people doesn’t mean she deserves all this hate.

I really hate how they wrote the ML to constantly chase after her while she’s just there, barely doing anything in return. Like, where are your efforts, girl? It’s frustrating to watch. Honestly, who are the writers and directors here?

I don’t blame the actors, I actually liked both of them since their first breakup scene. But now? It’s starting to get a bit annoying. The way the characters are written just doesn’t feel fair or balanced.
