Almost finished my rewatch. One thought I had when I was watching the first time was - I know LWY is beautiful, but I can't believe JY was so 100% sure she would be able to make JL fall for her if they just got shoved into the same room together.

On my rewatch, I'm thinking: what if JL actually was the reincarnation of Manman? Since JY knew what the real MM looked like, what if he saw JL as the dragon deity and came up with the idea of making LWY look exactly like Dizhu because even if your appearance changes, THE HEART REMEMBERS. So then maybe all those flashbacks of MM and DZ dancing and twirling around was their past life and not just a part of JL's dream? That also makes it more credible when JL tells LWY with so much certainty that he thinks MM actually loved DZ.

I saw that there was one as puppet JL with the black bg, and he did one in modern clothes before the IRL promos too, but I dont think i saw a photoshoot with him dressed as long shen in the albums

A lot of the other cast members did photoshoots dressed as their characters but afaik TJR only had that one of puppet JL. I wish he had done some photoshoots as long shen too. I want some new phone wallpapers 🥲

Haha I feel you. Spent all of my teen years getting nagged by my mom about the shows and music I like. Now I'm moved out and can watch/listen to whatever I want and have whatever phone wallpaper I want to have... I mean she does still nag but I don't see her often enough for it to matter~ it gets better!!!

Doing my rewatch and just finished the fight scene between LWY and Li Jie inside of Shilin Sect while she was taken captive. There was a thought I had during my first watch that started screaming at me again. When Ji Ling passed away after giving his dragon scale to LWY, and Li Jie started questioning what he will live for now... I had really hoped that during their grieving process LWY and LJ could've relied on each other. After all, they're the only two alive who loved JL the most. And the two that JL loved the most.

What I didn't like about LJ's characterization in general is that everything about him revolves around JL and he basically doesn't want to make connections with anyone else. It would've been really sweet if Li Jie decided that his new goal in life is to protect LWY in JL's place or something like that. I'm talking totally platonically of course!! But I wanted some kind of friendship to blossom between them cause otherwise they're just two people who can't really stand each other and I think that's such a waste. They could've been such a powerful bestie duo.

My main qualm with watching a new cast is it feels like watching them cheat if one person in the couple looks the same and the other person is played by someone else. So for example if WWY and WSG are new actors, but LWY and JL are still JJY and TJR, I'm ok with that. But LWY, WWY and WSG with new actors and JL is still TJR? Please no.

If this is true I would feel so bad for Yang Chaoyue, I don't follow c-celebs too much but from what I know of her she seems to be someone that already has a lot of haters. Can you imagine the bloodbath and abuse she will get from toxic fandoms if this is actually the new casting? Big shoes to fill

Agreed! A quick google search shows that a full moon happens every 29 days or so, which means LWY spent almost an entire month at the sect (because iirc the WZQ arc was only like 2 or 3 days long). So in that case I wish they showed more JiLu shenanigans

I started a full rewatch (currently on ep 4) and even took notes this time LOL. I think my biggest discovery so far was they spent way more time at the Wei Mansion than I initially thought. I was expecting maybe a week there but it seems they were there from Oct 28th til Nov 17th. Yes, I have no life.

I saw something on weibo last night but idk if it was a fanfic paragraph or actual script leak. But the scene takes place during the illusion arc where LWY was taking a bath, JL knocked and LWY said to come in. He is flustered that she told him to come in when she is bathing, but she said it was cause he knocked but didn't say anything, she thought he was a servant. Then LWY asks him to pass a basket of flower petals from across the room and he tells her to get it herself and she goes "but the floor is wet, what if I slip", but before she finishes the sentence he has already passed the basket into her arms, back towards her and looking away the whole time.

Either way, super cute scenario so just wanted to share 😂
