1. Seems like Ji Ling speaking to her this time wasn't something that happened from a past loop, but at the same time we don't know if she will do another loop again next ep so it's inconclusive if this interaction will be what closes the loop
2. Back in the scene where LWY and JL are wearing matching white robes at Shilin Sect, she told him that she did have weaker magic than him but she is more guarded now. So by that logic I think she doesn't necessarily have to be better at word magic than him, her fox magic powers just need to be stronger than his. Considering she's been through multiple loops, doesn't seem strange that she is just overpowered now in general so stronger fox magic as well. I think absorbing magic only works when she is getting harmed by the magic, and his word magic has never physically harmed her (not counting the backlash)
