I need to make a lil rant here, why the FL is so naive and stupid sometimes, like I'm on ep6, why did she come back to Tone, i was cheering for her escape so bad and here we go again wtf. The husband is f**ed up and Tone is submissive and powerless idiot, her dad is a freaking monster, just escape this madness woman, seriously !!
Pretty sure he got a stroke and is now bedridden (from arguing with his sons I guess)I like your theory about…
omo all your theories are so good, i started ep1, and i have the same thought as sarah, but i also like that you mention phoem being potentially ra*ed which may explain his sudden shift. will watch further to see how it will unfold
I'm so confused, like how can FL be top of her class if she's this dumb, like make it make sense. and the mom and daughter are like dramatic in a whole new level i've never seen before like...
yep, the only difference between xuan ji and he si mu is the fact that their personalities differ, I would support that it is based on the environment they grow up into that shape them.
Further down, I believe I saw some comments arguing that the female lead (FL) technically does have her five senses, since she can see and hear, but the drama portrays it in a much more nuanced way. For example, with sight, she can see, but everything appears devoid of color—it’s always shades of gray and black, as the drama emphasizes many times. She cannot smell or taste anything; this lack of sensation is repeatedly highlighted in the drama, emphasizing her disconnection from the world.
As for touch, while I’m only on episode 9, it seems she cannot truly feel either. In a previous episode, Duanxu stops her from drinking hot tea, demonstrating that she lacks normal physical awareness. Regarding hearing, she can hear people talking, but she cannot discern melodies or distinguish individual voices—everything sounds uniform, flat, and lifeless. She is, in a way, like a living corpse: nothing stands out, nothing catches her attention. It’s a haunting depiction, and imagining living like that for 400 years is genuinely sad.
Additionally, the drama subtly shows that her inability to experience the senses extends to emotional perception. She may understand words, but she cannot “feel” the emotions behind them in the way ordinary humans do. Even her interactions with others are muted, leaving her isolated in a world that moves around her but never truly reaches her, which is why she's kinda freaky. Anyway, thank you for anyone who reads this, it was my lil monologue on our FL, which is so well portrayed by reba
Okay my first impression : started the first few episodes and it was okay personally, what bug me was the mystery around ML and the whole plot direction but then when we reach ep8, everything shift and things get unveiled, that episode was PEAK and the hope it will keep the momentum. So for everyone who relates, give it a try until ep8, you will be surprised :)) Both leads are complete freak lol
Finished 11/10 from start to finish, every character has so many depth , romance, politic plot, slice of life, action, comedy, squad, secondary couple , even the villain, cinematography, storytelling checked all the boxes. Lastly, kudos to the amazing Dir. Zeng, i knew i could count on him. prop to TXW (FCY) and ZLH (XZ) who nailed their role, literally become my respective fav character because when watching a drama, I either liked FL or ML more, here, I love them equally, chemistry is just too too good as well !!
guys i think 18 episodes is not enough with the episode 17 it was so short on my point of view.. they need like…
Yes like how they gonna wrap this up in ep18 like there is so many things to resolve, crazy fan, via and arkin's reconciliation needs a well paced process, via's trauma healing like come on !!
