So Victor is half.... what exactly? I'm guessing Slavic but what
He seems to be probably half Russian - due to his dad's fears about the Soviet Union's reaction if he publishes the manuscript about Stalin. His name is also pretty Russian.

this series provides the potential to really push the boundaries of this genre and extend it into the fabric and history of LGBT+ rights in Thailand, where it has become such an important part of their mainstream culture. i really hope the screenwriters treat such an important time in history with reverence and care ! there is so much potential in this story and i hope we can feel every part of it with gratitude and respect

This show isn’t just about tattoos, burgers, and BDSM—it’s a sneaky deep dive into all kinds of modern social…
SO GOOD

Really interesting how Jojo played with the concept of power and role reversal in this episode. Kant literally drugs Bison (!) to get him drunk enough to take him home and Bison still ends up being the one in physical control with Kant showing genuine fear in what he pretends to enjoy (different to most situations where someone is taken advantage of). A bit more of a nuanced and complex look is required to understand the themes and characters in this show. Bison is being manipulated and his emotional power is being taken advantage of, yet still releases some form of physical control through BDSM. Not every show is going to be for everyone and that’s ok!

I did wince in the parking lot scene when Kant was paying the guy seconds after Bison left. Felt like Bison could…
yes, the lyrics being ironic is definitely a possibility, especially as dramatic irony was one of shakespeare's tenants. however, the lyrics to the destroy love OST are also sort of along the same vein: "bring it on, i'll play along", "pretend you fooled me", etc, especially as it is sung from bison's pov. bison probably does not know that kant is acting as a police informant etc, but it's interesting to wonder whether bison knows more than he appears outwardly and is playing at being innocent and 'in love for the first time'.

what do y'all think about the bowling alley dance scene?? inspiration was taken from the dance scene in pulp fiction according to jojo, and tarantino puts a lot of subtext and meaning into his films as well, including the song he chose in the original film. so, i'm not sure how much jojo puts weight into subtext like this, but the lyrics to the song k+b danced to at the bowling alley are pretty good indicators of the idea that there is more that bison knows that he might let on. for example, "I think there's something from me you need", "honey I see right through you", "you're scheming, your eyes give it away." their dance moves itself were also kind of suggestive, and it felt more intentional than just being a silly dance scene. Not sure if any of this was intentional, but I choose to believe that authorial intention is always purposeful in some way!!
