Hello there mates, participating in these sort of discussions aren't really my thing, but I reckon one of you might have an answer to this bloody question that I have a so I ended up making this account.
I've read the manhua a while back, so my memory is a bit jumbled. But when I saw there was a drama adaptation, I decided to watch it to see my favorite scenes play out. Now onto my bloody question. I have no recollection of the character Leyan within the mahua. I am now about 27 episodes in and was wondering why they decided to write in her character. No hate to the actress, but her character, although cute at times is awfully bland and useless and contributes nothing to the plot from what I've seen. The only connection she has to the story is that she's the main character's cousin, otherwise there is nothing else about her story that matters to the story or Chang Ge. Does this change later on? Or did I happen to miss something?
