Interesting observations mate! I might have to rewatch the opening song myself to catch the details that you have…
I have been caught up with work recently, and was only able to post a review today. Once my schedule frees up a bit more, I will probably return and post a short response in the comment section.
I quite enjoy the soundtrack myself. So many emotions packed into the vocals as well as the songs. And the lyrics…
What you said makes sense. Although I am still disappointed, I guess no drama is ever perfect. It was overall an enjoyable watch despite the exclusion of some of my favorite parts.

Hey there mate, sorry for the late response, I have been caught up with work. But thank you so much for your explanation and drama recommendations. I will be sure to check them out as I am quite impressed by Leo Wu's acting.
I have finished writing a review for this drama and will probably return to write a short analysis in the comments once I am more free.
With some research I have managed to find an English translation of "The Blue Whisper." So far, I am enjoying it a lot. I love the main female character and am excited to Dilraba's portrayal of this character. Here is the link: https://wayeast.weebly.com/
I share the same sentiments mate. I didn't think I could love Chang Ge more than I already do from when I had…
How fascinating. I quite enjoy watching dramas for this sole reason. One can never know the people they would meet who are watching the same drama. You may meet people from similar regions, and even others from across the globe.
Yes, the actress who plays Li Changge is an Uyghur. Her visual similarities to the Changge in the manhua was one…
When dramas include cross dressing one must not pay attention to how an actress or actor may look so much as they are originally female or male. There is no way to completely make them appear like the opposite gender. What we should pay attention to is the acting, and if whether the actress or actor can portray the role well. Here, like you said, despite the 1% lack of similarity due to her appearance, Dilraba had flawlessly acted out the role of a man, which is believable enough to convince viewers that she is a man.

I am rather intrigued by the fantasy genre, although I hope the romance isn't too much like Hao Du and Leyan. I tend to steer clear away from heavily romance dramas. But since it is a fantasy drama, I reckon there are lots of epic fight choreography?

Is there lots of romance involved? How about the action scenes? Are the battles just as grand as TLB? I do not mind slow pacing as long as the plot is good.

Ah thank you for the help mate! It is very much appreciated. The more and more I learn about this woman, the more and more I seem to be falling in love with her. First from her beauty, to her talents, and now her personality. I have read the synopsis of her upcoming dramas. "You Are My Glory" is not exactly my cup of tea. I do not fancy heavily romance dramas. However, her drama "The Blue Whisper" seems rather interesting. Can you please give me some insight on that as well as a link to where I can read the novel?
It also appears that there are 2 seasons for the drama? I did not know that Chinese dramas also come with multiple seasons.

No you are not wrong at all. From what I can remember, Mobei doesn't exist in the manhua. Mobei is what I reckon the drama had used in place of Uygher. Pusa was the Uygher king and had first recognized Chang Ge by her tear nevus which is similar to the one her mother has. However, he assumes that she had tried to fool him. Later on, he finds out that Chang Ge is his niece by the unique hairpin that he had made for her mother long ago.
Thank you for enlightening me on this issue. It is such a shame that they couldn't have at least included the bit where he is her uncle. They had already changed Uygher to Mobei, I can not understand why Chang Ge couldn't just be the Mobei princess. There is no harm there right?

How right you are. She the way she observes and learns from her surroundings plays a huge factor in her survival thus far. It's a great detail that Xiao Da has included in Chang Ge's character.
This is one of those castings where I prefer that they choose an older actress to portray the character instead of someone who is of similar age. Like you said, it would make it quite unbelievable for the audience to believe, especially when considering everything that Chang Ge had gone through. It indeed would make her character seem too unrealistic and more like a superhero. Dilraba was a perfect choice, and I might go as far as saying that she is the only choice. There is no one that I can think of that can portray better. An honorable mention is that she plays the role of a man quite well. From her stance to her demeanor, I could mistake her for a man myself if she didn't so obviously look like a woman from her features and figure. Props to the actress. I have never seen an actress portray a man so well.

Thank you for thorough explanation of Dilraba's real character. Based from your descriptions alone, she sounds a wonderful woman. My ideal woman actually. She seems to be someone who is loved and admired by many, and I am glad that her beautiful face is also reflected in such a beautiful and admirable personality. I am becoming a fan of her for sure. Is there anything I can watch to get started? I have heard that most of her past roles aren't as impactful or as great as TLB.
That actress indeed has big and beautiful, bright eyes. Although based on preference, I would prefer Dilraba's beauty over hers. Dilraba's eyes are also much more enticing to look at, and they're just so pretty. Her tear nevus adds a certain aura to her eyes that make them the more enchanting when you at them. There are many actresses who can get casted based on their beauty and popularity even if they don't have much talent in acting. The actress from General and I sounds like she could fall into that category.

Thank you for your description of her. I like that this is written from a non-bias perspective so that I am able to gauge how others see Dilraba compared to her fans. From what I've seen, your descriptions and observations of her seem to align with I have read from WK1 as well as a few others have posted. Do you recommend the show Keep Running as a way for me to get to know her better?
What you said is painstakingly true. Her beauty is indeed a double edged sword, especially for someone in this industry. No matter how talented or beautiful one may be, they will always garner haters the more popular they become. I do not know how popular Dilraba is, but from your descriptions of her fanbase along with how her birthday was celebrated, I reckon she is quite a popular actress. It is a shame that there are haters who will always look past her talents and just associate her popularity with her beautiful face, however, what is important is that most of us are able to appreciate her talents.
Dilraba has surprised me time and time again with her acting within this drama. It is my first time watching her and she has left a great impression to me. Poor scripts are a big part in allowing an actor or actress to showcase their range. There is only so much they are able to do with what they are given. I am glad that she is now able to have more control of choosing her scripts. I for one will be looking forward to her future projects.

I do also feel like if the manhua were to be continued, Xiao Da would've included more romance into the story similar to how it was shown in the drama. The reason there was more romance in the drama compared to the manhua was most likely because it had taken much longer manhua Chang Ge and A'Sun to meet each other, become friends, along with the fact that A'Sun doesn't find out that Chang Ge is a girl til near the end of current manhua.
It is a great side of Ashile Sun to see, since us manhua readers are used to seeing his tough side for most of the manhua. The drama allows us to see a softer side to him.
I have finished the final two episodes, and there is much to say. I will probably write it in a separate post later. Hope you can join in and give me some insights in case I interpreted the scenes in a different way than it was intended.

It was a lot for her to handle considering she had lost the remaining people closest to her, before finding out that the one friend she trusted is actually her enemy. Not to mention she was left with the burden of protecting the people of Shuozhou. Rather than feel sad for her within this scene, I have come to admire her. A 15 year old girl who has been through so much, yet she now stands before thousands of soldiers who wanted nothing but to kill her. Yet she held her head high, and accepted defeat with grace and dignity. A powerful scene, and definitely one of my favorite scenes.

I have about two episodes left. Should be done by the end of day. I literally spent the past 2 days binge watching the drama. Since I am now nearing the final episodes I have been pacing myself a bit more.
I am still unfamiliar with China censorship laws. Would you mind giving me some insight on that? What does it have to do with the Mobei arc being excluded? It was such a major arc within the original plot.

Wonderful words to describe it. Surprisingly, I am not that disappointed by this change within the plot. The increase in romance was rather a nice addition to the drama, it somehow worked amidst all of this and didn't take away the spotlight from Chang Ge's character and journey. I enjoyed the bits where Ashile Sun is protective of Chang Ge. He is a true man, and deserves to be admired for his respect and trust for his woman. He supports her every step of the way whenever he can, and never once held her back.
The only problem I seem to be having with the drama is the Leyan character and her relationship with Hao Du that seems to be taking a lot of unnecessary time away from the main plot. I only have about 2 episodes left and I do hope that they will be more focused on the plot and Chang Ge. I'm already disappointed as it is with the exclusion of the Mobei arc.

I am reckon the last few episodes do not disappoint? I am a tad disappointed by the exclusion of the Mobei arc and Chang Ge's as well as Ashile Sun's heritage. But I am still enjoying it thus far aside from minor annoying characters.
