I think this might be Jung Hae-in's least appealing character to me, but the drama itself is picking up!
really hope no one likes this comment just cause there's no way the first part is true. no offence tom

With regards to Hyeon ah, I thinks she says no, because she saw what being with someone with cancer did to her ex. The life with ups and downs and she prolly doesn't want to be a burden like that with another partner, especially not her best friend, although a part of her started giving Hyeon ah a chance. But now im just mad with the ex showing up, cause he just reminded of how he was during that whole process/journey. So now she's like yeah no.

Since, I'm on a rant anyway. let me give my two cents on the mother's role as well. Seok Nyu grows up with an asian household mom-- like the kind that showers you with love with food and less with positive words of affirmation. She is a flawed character too. But my mom is like that... the fact that they're wired like that doesnt change the fact that t'sonly one mom you get and that it's her. But I'm sure they're now blaming themselves for the fact she went through it alone. Because again, seok ryu made the decision to keep it ro herself. She should've been back in Korea when she was sick , but she chose to have one person know about it. But now, I'm sure they're gonna go thru all that healing. It's very realistic and I love it for that.

also I don't get why people are so upset with the story-line??! Like yes they delivered the rom-com and is it so wrong for them to make the plot a little bit more realistic? In the kind of world we live right now, where working and earning money to become successful is the dream everyone's chasing, thyroid cancers/stomach cancers have really become more common than they were before. As an asian girl studying abroad and wanting to give your family and yourself a good life by working hard, I can relate to Seok-Ryu's character. I also understand to a certain extent, growing up independent from a young age, you sometimes want to go through things on your own so as not to hurt the people around you, and that's what she did. Not saying it was the right decision, but it's a human one though. And I completely understand how Seung-Hyo is reacting to it too. As friends, you sometimes have that bestie hometown but suddenly they become a smaller part of your life with long distance and I think he is angry at himself and her for letting it get to this point. And the fact that he likes her, only makes it much more worse for him. This is a very realistic and human portrayal of life and human emotions... it's not always black and white. Even with the ex, it was so realistic, couples do get tested over periods like that, and the fact that they didn't write him off as a cheater makes it make more sense really. Because you don't always break up in life because you're a cheater. It's cause sometimes things get too tough, and love doesnt suffice.

Loved the countdown and I totally love his character-- especially the way he goes all out despite the doubts!! Team Choi Seung Ho all the way! Cancer was a surprise and I think the preview where he cries is when he finds out that he didn't tell her... I feel like ex will have a deep conversation with Choi Seung and leave the picture--- and then we're back to working on their story. I hope you guys will reply to this comment and interact so I can come back to it next week haha and check if my predictions were right

He's made crazy good shows in the last few years and yet it's so disappointing to see how a lot of internationals don't know a lot about him. I'm assuming that this may be due to the fact that he doesn't do your typical every-day rom com show. I love this man
