To me even the face change felt acceptable, but the fact that they gave us kissing scenes with bu Yeon when his heart was for naksu felt unacceptable, like wdym you're in love with her but you're getting married to someone else(although they're the same person) neither of them know that technically

100% but I dont disagree with having a new face, since they already gave us how naksu really looked. But I wish they paid more homage to s1 moments with so-min, the director completely cut her out and showed her face for micro seconds in s2

I dont understand why Jung So Min didn't get enough credit for her incredible performance in season 1! even her flashbacks in s2 were too short, I feel like she and the director had some crazy falling out

If you were to compare it with a Voldemort in Harry Potter, while he had his allies there were people who were actively trying to suppress him at every turn, whereas here Jin Mu kinda just did whatever he wanted with just Jung Uk actively trying to do something to him -- I think he should've had an end in season 1 for doing sorcery and had a different plot line that allowed him to come back in s2 as well - but not high living his high and cushy life till the very end - and everyones like yeah he's bad but we won't do anything felt a little stupid

Yes I completely agree! While even a slight nudge in the wrong direction brings tenfolds of punishments to the mages, somehow Jin Mu has been plotting no good that break every single rule that existed in this universe, and somehow everyone turns a blind eye - up until his end. Somehow it felt like he screamed "I'm a villain" openly but no one really cared- I found that so messed up and a huge loophole in the writing.

I'm rewatching it and it's genuinely heartbreaking to see how Lu Feng's beautiful's first love consumes him and takes him to the deepest depths of hell, and how he then drags Yi Chen into the same hell with him. I honestly don't see how the last episode is helpful except that it gives some sense of normalisation to the extremes we see. But I would always ache for what they could've had, and how they could've saved each other years of heartbreak if not for the externalities of their love - because the first few episodes are absolutely beautiful - even after the first break they're still a version of their teenage selves. The Lu Feng that comes after Yi Chen's marriage is a different demon altogether, sigh

Hey, I also want to add, there were many things in this show that weren't ethical or moral --- there's no value you here you should carry with you in your real life- some times some tales will be like that. Think of old English plays with absolute 0 sense but are still popular to this day and romanticised, think about so many things that are wrong in this world we live right now including war - we romanticise as saving lives. Coming back to the show, nothing here was right in a moral sense, but the creators aren't asking you to watch this to question your values or learn lessons, they don't want you to imitate any of this as well. Nor do they need you to desperately defend any of these characters. You could call these characters for what they are and that's totally fine, and still enjoy this show! Don't let the moral police make you feel like you need to justify any of the NC scenes - because you DON'T have to do that and you SHOULDN'T do that either. This is intended for mature audiences and that includes adults who are able to make choices for themselves and who will not be easily swayed by 12 episodes to take anything from here to your "real life". Just enjoy the show for portraying these two characters, and for showing you their tale of love with all its scars, gore, light and love.

The way every scene and emotion was captured so beautifully, the way they took a book that readers thought couldn't be saved and turned it into this, the way these actors did so much justice to these two characters, absolutely commendable!!! I am genuinely so so grateful for this show as a reader, while they didn't completely "fix" everything "wrong", they somehow retained the essence of the story and gave us the tale of two imperfect souls in love, choosing love and choosing themselves for the first time at the same time since they got together. The 11th episode was it for me, absolute 10/10, thank you team! You did an amazing job!!

while I admit that there's nothing right bout their relationship, im genuinely impressed with how well the two actors embodied the emotions of lu Feng and yi Chen- I was quite relieved and happy with all the things toned down, both with content and timing! I am so so grateful for this rewritten version - honestly the author should too. out of all her work this one was most traumatizing,
