It's just too good.

I'll just get into the review straight up and try my best not to spoil too much so here we go!

Story
It was great. Male lead is a top actor while Female lead is a PR team leader at the company he's signed in. They were both classmates in the same department in college and in a way formed a friendship where they enjoyed each other's company but also bickered from time to time. I mean I liked it but when I first watched it and (I misunderstood it during like ep.2 or 3 that I thought they were an ex-couple) I thought it would be more intriguing in a way if they had that trope. It would explain their bickering more and the tension between them too. Since I was just plain confused why he just keeps teasing her even though he'll mention the reasons, I feel like that trope would've worked well. But either way it was still good. Supporting characters made the drama cute and the others dramatic. This is just full on hyper-realism with how they just do their jobs and live their lives but with romance being highlighted since there's a lot in here. Of course there were some details that could've been addressed better like the beginning of the drama (I get why they wanted this to feel heartwarming that ML is so sweet too) but they should've addressed it properly ang got facts straight to keep accuracy as this can be offending. But the story between everyone here is grat overall though if you watch throughout, though the dramatic parts do have give a headache but eventually it passes.

Acting or Cast
Watched this after I watched Lee Sungkyung on Weightlifting fairy. I became a fan of her acting so I was lisiting down her filmography at this point and this drama happened to be the 2nd one I watched from hers! Loved her character, honestly Oh Hanbyul are types of characters I really admire. You won't be disappointed from her here, she's just that amazing.

For Gong Taesung, I only saw him in Extraordinary you and I know his character is not that complex there. But him in shooting stars was a refreshing take. Not many may agree, but I enjoyed the comedic acting he did here. I would say he really acted to how Gong Taesung is.

For the chemistry between them too, I would say 10/10. Loved it. Their banter was funny, the way they are concern for one another, and the tension was great. I loved how there was a lot of foreshadowing in their scenes together so it makes it funny yet very sweet. Yeah I just thought maybe them as a ex-couple would've been more intriguing but just them being friends ever since was still sweet and light so it was fine with me anyways. The scenes get sweeter so it wasn't a disappointment lol.

There were a lot of supporting characters that are very familiar in different projects and lots of cameos as well. I would say there's two halves in this. First half made the scenes funny and very cute. Second half, stressful but I guess it just gets better, and this half explains why ML and FL can struggle at some parts of the plot. As mentioned, there's a lot of romance, so you can expect it a lot from the supporting cast as well.

Music
This drama only had a few main OSTs but had a lot of instrumental soundtracks that uplisted the drama's vibes to be more lively. But I enjoyed it. Lots of the songs come off in different vibes. One is exciting to showcase the drama's main concept, one showcases the refreshing vibes, one is just yearning, and the other is more emotional. Loved the one from Sondia and Vincent Blue though, it showcases the relationship between the characters that it just hits.

Now, Rewatch Value
I would say it's rewatch value is high I actually rewatched this a few times over the past years. I was in a slump so I ust came back to dramas who had good vibes like this. I would say this is still enjoyable despite many repeats.

Overall, it's just that good. It's lovely and a very sweet story. Nothing way too dramatic but there's parts that aches. It's still pretty good and would say these are one of the good romcoms out there if you just want a simple watch especially if you're also interested in the industry they based from. It's not maybe the most intriguing in the beginning but it gets real better from there. Would recommend this.

Summer for longing love

This was the first time I had watched a Taiwanese drama (since I am more of a kdrama and cdrama viewer haha). But I am so grateful that this was the first one I watched. Because this, was a masterpiece.

I initially watched this before the Korean remake 'A Time Called You' came out since I was a fan of the cast of the kdrama version so I decided to see the original since I wanted to know what I was getting myself into and I thought, if this was getting remakes then the original must be that good. Sadly, the time I tried to start this, I was in a slump. Not until summer of last year, I saw this again and decided to watch the entire series and it did not dissappoint.

Actually, I was aware of the timeline going on in the story because I had read an article about it out of curiousity back then. But I did not expect how the drama would play this out so it did feel like a surreal experience when I was watching it. But I'll admit that I was confused either way. But the complex time travelling that the drama had, made it different from any time travelling drama out there. There are so many loop holes that made me think deeply and I still cannot grasp or get used to the idea how many of the timelines seem to be happening at the same time. But probably admist all of that, one feeling that retains is the deep longing love they have for one another. To this day, I still cannot get rid of that feeling when I think about this drama and it really tingles my heart that pain yet this deep true love I felt from the story. I can say, I felt the complexity and it was stressful yet worth the journey throughout just like how the story had depicted.

Acting and the cast was spectacular. I may not be familiar with them but the way they had all embodied their characters, was outstanding. The lines and feelings they were able to deliver was so pure, true, and nonetheless one of the best acting performances I have seen. It must have been confusing for them to portray several characters in their story, because I was too, but they way they were able to distinguish their performance for each character was terrifying because it actually made me shiver. I heard that the lead actress was really thought of being Huang Yuxuan/Chen Yunru ever since and I do agree that Alice Ko is definitely one of the best actresses I have ever known. And the way she didn't mind that the lead actor Hsu Kuang Han who acted as Li Ziwei/Wang Qangsheng , was a rookie at that time since Alice ko was one of the best actresses in the country. He was a great actor, I love how dedicated and how much I start crying when it's him. I understand why he is Asia's First Love/Boyfriend because he raised a standard and now I understand why God gave me high standards now... Anyways, I really like Patrick Shih who was Mo Jun Jie. I was quite shocked when I found out that he was the youngest among them, but his acting was so good like being able to act so pure yet tragically painful, I almost cried at his scenes a lot. All of them were so amazing, I still cannot forget the way some scenes moved me thanks to their amazing acting. Will be looking into more of their projects because of this.

Music was without a doubt, ingrained in me. I'm really into OSTs and without a doubt, this drama's soundtrack has been my favorite now. I like how music is one of the key elements in their story, so if anyone who hasn't watched it yet, Last Dance will make you understand why I feel so broken until now haha🥲 Miss You 3000 will always be the reason why I still feel pain until now but I highly recommend it!

Rewatch value for this is high. Yeah, I do want to watch this again but until now, I cannot. I don't want to let go of the first feelings I felt when I watched it for the first time. Until now I still remember how the last episode made me feel that I actually teared up. But because I'm slowly forgetting the scenes, maybe soon or someday (yes) I'll rewatch it again.

Overall, I recommend it because that's how much I love it. I'll try to finish 'A Time Called You' now and even try to see the movie for this one. I'll probably remember this for a lifetime. But honestly though, may this love they have find me HAHA.

:)

5 minutes taken from each day was lovingly worth it!

Despite it only being 5 minutes per episode. The storyline and concept really won it. I do wish they had elaborated more on the the main cincept of the storyline "her 26 self going back to her to 17 self" as it was quite confusing yet so simple and straightforward for me. Nonetheless, I enjoyed it. The way they went to the direct points of the story just intrigues you and it makes me eager to watch the next episode.

I wish the episodes were a little longer since the acting of the ml and fl were so enjoyable, their chemistry and how they get into their characters are just spectacular. It makes me want to discover more of their acting projects.

Whenever I look at pictures from this drama, I don't remember when that scene happened as everything was quite quick and vague for me to remember. Also the english subtitles in the platform I watched it in were quite confusing as well, which is why i will rewatch this once more once I find a more stable platform to view it in. I just finished it and I can confirm it's rewatch valauble is quite high for me. I can definitely watch this again.

Music and OSTs were great, nothing too outstanding but it suited the drama's vibe really well.

Overall, I highly recommend this one. Good starter or just a good lighthearted watch for you. Don't think much about it but just enjoy it. Has funny elements too that the actors delivered really well so I hope these 5 minutes in 25 episodes each will make you smile all throughout.

: )

A show that comforted my summer

I usually watch variety shows but since many Korean variety shows run through lots of seasons and episodes, I usually just pick between ones I feel or am interested in watching or whatever would be playing on TV by chance. But this show was one of your quick ones. 5 episodes that took up 2 hours each that is readily accesible on YouTube. It may not seem like much but this series provided so much meaning that I want to expound on this review so here it goes...

Story, or I would refer to this as the "concept" of the show since this is a variety rather than a actual scripted movie. The concept this show had was quite simple, premiering movies in a quiet countryside that is full of elders and it is hosted by iconic actors in the K-drama/movie scene. But the way the show was able to show the beauty and meaning on how this simple concept engraved my heart with deep warmth and healing. The showcase of 3 different movies they decided to premiere was unique. They all came from different generations and different genres to laugh or cry about and leave that heartfelt message was fun. Seeing the elders cry and even the actors who were hosting, were meaningful times. Because movies like these really show how it is a universal feeling to feel such beautiful message conveyed in the diversity of genres and times these movies had and were filmed in. The place they also stayed at was another meaningful aspect. Since the village they've visited was small and filled with elders at most, it felt like a small family coming over to this one place to watch movies together happily. Even if the place wasn't the most grand, it felt like coming home to your grandparent's house when you were a kid. That feeling of nostalgia that just keeps you happy yet missing the feeling that I cannot experience again. Overall, this may be the most simplest concept for a show to do, but it was one of the best shows I can say I watched even if it has been a while since I watched it.

Another is the Acting/Casting, since this was a none scripted show, I'll just discuss the casting. I initially watched this as I am a fan of the actress Lee Sungkyung. I was going through her filmography to see she has popped up in a few variety shows other than acting projects. I knew how fun and lovely her personality was so seeing how she was one of the main host of this show, once I found where to watch it excited me. Then naturally when I came to watch the series, I ended up recognizing the other actors who were the main hosts of the show. So seeing these 4 actors, despite the small number of a cast, created a heatwarming bond. It was fun to see how passionate and creative they were in sharing ideas on how to pull off this concept of a show. Not only were they given a concept but they had to plan with the staff on how they would promote it to the elders to come watch in the homey cinema 'they' who also created a design output for it. Even them planning the snacks, drinks, props, even funny little shows they wanted to show off before the premiered the movie to entertain the elders was so meaningful. I can tell they treasured this time well, despite how cold the weather was (since they filmed in Autumn at that time) they still wnated to give the best experience in creating this lovely cinema for elders to enjoy the movies and have a great time with one another. To the point that they even offer to walk or drive them home an shower them with several gifts touched my heart so much. Even the elders being openly welcoming and caring towards them as they were visitors was adorable. There's so much good things I can say how they really picked such a perfect casting for this. I know nothing is perfect in this world, but this casting was one of the best I've seen.

Music, wasn't much highlighted but you can say the show picked great OSTs or sountracks to add in the episodes were nice. I remembered I even searched up one song out of curiosity because it sounded nice lol.

Rewatch Value, I would definitely watch this again. I think I did a few times but I didn't watch it straightforwardly as I did for the first time. As I watched this during the summer time, it was a season where it didn't feel the brightest for me. I didn't want to say this was one of the worst moments in my life because this show was one of the reaons why I felt like that month was healing rather than isolation in how dark I felt at that time. I was keeping myself busy to stay distracted and drowned myself in prayers on when that season would end. But looking back, that season felt warmer as ever because despite how busy I kept myself in tasks to help my family and things I thought would take my thoughts out of this. This show provided a portion of healing that I don't regret those times. Rather resenting it, feeling healing in that painful season was the answered prayer. I really worked on myself and my views in life. This series may have been just a portion on how it helped me at that time but I am truly grateful I watched this. There was an ending quote mentioned at the end of the series that made me so happy. I felt more inspired to do more better things and to grow more as a more better person despite how stuck I was at that time. I hope you can also find that warmth and comfort from the end quote if you ever so watch it. It may be a simple quote but I felt peace in my heart on how meaningful life can be. I aim to work harder now yet appreciate life's moments ahead. It's beautiful. Overall, I hope you all find this review helpful and that you may find time to watch this. I really think this is worth the watch and I hope you can feel that healing I once felt in that one season.

:))
