Truth be told, I didn't expect anything so serious in this serious and I just happen to watch this upon its poster. Stories wise, I love it. It's funny and cute till it turns 180-degree upside down. Started simple and light-hearted as many of its predecessors do, then turning it into super serious was too much of a turn that it shocked me yet it stays in my mind for many many days. Character-wise, I will say this for the first time, this is the only drama in which I like the development of the second couple most. Yes, the first couple is likable but by now you'd be bored of seeing the same troupe again and again so it's a fresh change and I love it. I find that there is so much more emotion to connect with the elder brother storyline as you'd find him pitiful throughout his love conquer journey and it is. It isn't for the weak-hearted. I mean it. It sucks. My baby, WHY?!!! TT TT But in terms of recommendation, go for it. Won't be a waste of time and you might end up liking it so don't hesitate.

It's really not your typical Cinderella story, where an unattractive (???) girl gets a makeover and suddenly the man she likes, swoons over her. It's a realistic and believable portrayal of the struggles a person faces in realizing what makes her beautiful to herself.
With a trend of female hating female existing in K dramas, Ha Ri and Hye Jin's relationship is serious friendship goals. Though they see a few downs in the show, they still support and love each other regardless. Their friendship is goals and absolutely adorable. Jun Hi played the role of Ha Ri really well and I loved her chemistry with Hye Jin, she was really cute and I wish she was given more screen time at the end of the show.
I also, loved how Hye Jim's transformation was not too drastic. She was already gorgeous, but she simply tidied herself up more and did what she did, not because of a man, but because of her goal. It was awesome seeing her back to her old self, showing how she truly accepted herself by embracing her looks and Jung Eum was absolutely a treat to watch! Her comedy skills were mind blowing, she is a wonderful actress.
I have had waay too many second lead syndromes than I can count. However, most crack by the time the respective dramas are ending since these men are either made to be less cooler than the first leads / turn out to be evil / their screen time is taken away from them. However, Reporter Kim - Choi Siwon was incredibly charming, I am not the one saying it, look at the comments lol. Reporter Kim was a total clown, annoying and to others he looked like a wacko, yet he cared a lot for Hye Jin. Even till the end, he did everything to stop Hye Jin from crying. Not because he expected her to come to him, but because he genuinely wanted her to be happy. Even Deputy Chief agreed that he couldn't do anything, so everyone agrees that the second lead was much better, how many shows do we see with such realistic writing?

A lot of people, give Deputy Chief flak for being obsessive about his childhood friend Hye Jin and call him a loser. However, I would like to disagree since without knowing the real HJ he became attached to her and started loving her. To him, whether she was HJ or not didnt matter, since he came to truly love the beautiful person he met and spent time with. This is the strength of the story line. Also, Park Seo Joon played the role really well! From a rude Deputy Chief to a doting, clumsy, cheesy person, he made us accept the result of him being first lead. I loved his acting much more than Hwarang and if you want to watch him in more shows, watch Fight My Way, Kill Me Heal Me and a few others!
So, in short. This show deserves to be seen. It's now in my top list of K dramas because it's an extremely refreshing, realistic and funny show. Do give it a watch, you won't regret it!
Great drama full of comedy and romance, with themes of gender, integrity, political corruption, and social change. It's wonderfully written and directed, and the two leads and supporting actors are all marvelous. The production is also terrific, with lovely scenery, sets, and soundtrack.
The romantic leads, Shin Se Kyung and Cha Eun Woo, seem to have had the roles written just for them. Cha beautifully portrays Prince Yi Rim with joy, vulnerability, emotional depth, and inner strength. Shin, as the quietly brilliant and courageous Goo Hae-ryung, is a master of both the comic and dramatic material. Their screen presence is magnetic, whether they appear separately or together.
The plot unfolds flawlessly and I was riveted from the first scenes to the last, and was rewarded with a satisfying ending. This was my first Kdrama and since then I've found a few good ones, but nothing quite as good as this. Highly recommended!

The story is cute, things don't drag on very long when something big happens, and it was fast paced. There were unfortunately a lot of plot holes and I noticed that events were not described well. This may be a translation issue, but I'm not sure, so you'll have to use context clues to figure some things out. The ending was a happy ending but somehow not satisfying..
It’s a good show overall. Some funny moments, some frustrating ones as well and also some weird, pointless storylines. For some reason I just couldn’t connect with the lead actor, but that me just be me. That said, it is a good show, quite entertaining, so I would recommend it.

This was a light enjoyable drama, no extremely sad moments. Loved the male lead. Once he fell in love with the female lead, he was so devoted! I knocked a point off this rating for the female lead’s character. I got frustrated at times with her lack of trust in the male lead leading to all sorts of problems. And it took so long for her to admit her love for him. And yes, there were so many lies maintained throughout this drama, which is why they gave the drama the name, but it sure got tiring sometimes.
There wasn't any thrill at all and I'd say a bit of suspense for there tbh it was Romance all along plus the flashbacks were way interesting then the current scene going on but the send half of the ending was just good a plot twist came !

There were no extended storylines and no characters were added to prolong the drama unnecessarily. The chemistry between these characters? Mind-blowing. Simply delicious. Definitely shipping these two. Open mouth kisses are the way forward guys. Because wow. I mean just wow. Watching these two definitely gets the blood going. ** The male lead moved next door in another drama he has done recently- please lets not do that to him again - although it worked here it can become a typical expected moment which could ruin the momentum of any future story. ** The male actor in this is just smoking because how he behaves and interacts with the female lead seems to come natural in this drama. The female lead is always lovely to watch and finally I feel that she is becoming more confident as an actress. Her earlier work showed she had flair but now she is shining beautifully. I don’t get the low rating, this drama is really good. And the chemistry between the leads is amazing. It’s like 🔥🔥 Definitely give it a try, it’s worth it. I feel like there is a group bias where all K dramas start at 9.8 rating while C dramas start at a much lower rating. Always. Think this is unfair and doesn’t give people a chance to see dramas like this. I don’t know why the bias. I’m Korean but even I can see the bias in favor of Kdramas that don’t even warrant a rating over 8 while even the best Cdrama get a max rating of 9.4 or 9.5, rarely. Whoever is giving these initial ratings should chill and be fair.

Love the whole storyline from season 1 - 2 but I think too much time was wasted on the two main characters basically playing dumb and never really having a chance to see their love bloom fully. They finally get it together and then its all over. It would have been good to have season 3 to see what their lives are like as she goes to France & he studies to take over his dads business and how they work out their newly found relationship & love. I did like how they kept their relationship fun & kid like but all the wasted time with how them not confessing seemed like filler stuff. The shady girls was played well throughout but the ringer was finding out that Jiang was her cousin and her dad was her nemesis dad and really rich. But Jiang was a G he was so romantic and always protected her and expressed his feelings and made sure she was taken care of. But each of the guys took part in taking care of her which I loved that also. She had 4 guys at one point that love her and then 3 to the end. The one who stood out to me was QiLu best friend who was silently loving Chuxia and being the best friend he could be to her and challenging QiLu to make a decision on who he really liked and to push him towards Chuxia. But, his best friend really liked Chuxia so much and his grandpa was hilarious trying to marry her off to him even asking QiLu mom for Chuxia to move in with them and marry his grandson (the best friend) and the best friend would not be opposed to it. Basically all the guys gave QiLu space to decide but all of the guys were ready at any moment to chase after Chuxia which also made QiLu stay on his game and not to slack very much. Also the classic story of the good girl gets the great guys and is liked by everyone after she works hard and earns it because of her personality and authenticity unlike the fake girls. I liked it

My favorite character was probably the mom. She's was such a supportive and hilarious mom. this drama probably made me laugh the most. As for the storyline itself, I was also suprised. I expected a more cliche storyline. This story felt quite realistic. All the events built up and it progressed nicely. The acting was amazing. Definitely an underrated gem

The chemistry of the lead characters is off the charts! Amazing use of music. Lin Yi was really amazing in this drama. I first watched him in PYHOMS and I wasn't much of a fan of that drama but he converted me with Love Scenery. Everything about this drama was on point, even when the lovers hadn't met each other, I was enjoying the show still. It didn't drag at any point and it was just so sweet. Love it.
