this is super TMI, but as someone who witnessed her dad had an affair with someone else and had her family break down bcs of it , i can totally totally totally relate to the fam not wanting DJ involved with WJ DESPITE knowing he has no part in his mom evilness.
I can relate to HS and mom's strong reaction to this news. and even HS lapse of judgement when she slapped WJ. WJ is of course an unfortunate victim, and she's the one suffering the most. But i totally get where the family is coming from. This is overall, just a shitty situation to be in.

personally I think it's part of WJ's arc to be flippant about her feelings towards DJ - we know that she's completely smitten and would sometimes cave in to her impulses of wanting to be with him. But on the other hand, reality keeps reminding her who DJ is and what it would mean for herself and her family if she insist on being together with DJ
