This drama is definitely A must watch for me, like it will make you rack your brains, literally every character has a story and a deadly plan of their own against each other, like everyone has a smile with a dagger. It's like watch a live chess game, you move one piece and then boom, another piece is dead.

Out of all the dramas I watched this year, this might be in my re-watch list and the only Chinese drama I enjoyed this year (till now)

I think she is a villain, she seems to be plotting against the Empress dowager. She is creating a rift between mother and son, I feel she has her own set of revenge, from lishan academy and empress dowager. But you are right, she can definitely use it as a leverage against the marquis and Empress Dowager. I feel she wants them to be on the same team so that she can bury them together. At the same time, I like how everyone has their own story and their own schemes, literally no character seems to be idle, everyone has a plan in their mind. That's what's fun

ATP, I feel every historical story has an imperial edict, which the villains never destroy, like dude, you had all the time and resources but you want to keep the evidence, so that one fine day, you can be caught, how Selfless of you😂.

I was so happy when I got to know it was destroyed, because i wanted to see other possibilities of them getting the truth to light, but again it is in the hands of villains who won't burn it. Can you atleast be efficient at your work Ms. Villain.

Why were lishan academy people against the Empress dowager ascending the throne? She was their student right?

I think it's a Toxic gas or wild fire started by the Empress Consort, That marquis and that lu fang or something like that, that's why she killed him with fire. They say "Don't Give in to them", when she is running to the exit, so they know who has started it, since she wanted Empress dowager to ascend the throne, also explains their masks but how is it that she doesn't know that they might be dead? This would also explain why monkeys randomly started biting, due to fire the mountain is inhabitable, so they might have started attacking humans for food.

There is one more hypothesis, there must be a plague but, as soon as they started buring bodies to reduce contamination, it started affecting more people from the smoke, this would explain the smoke which we see in earlier episode and their covered faces. It would still not explain what kind of plague is it that didn't affect that one girl alone. And this would make the monkeys just a red herring, like after seeing so many dead bodies may be she had just thought them to be monkeys to reduce the sufferings.

The Empress Consort is really confusing to me, She is definitely evil but why? It's not like she can rule, at the end it will be the empress, so is the kid the consorts son? The one who is on the throne? Her helping the empress isn't making any sense to me. The marquis will gain money and power, so it's understandable but what does the consort gain? She already has all the money and power.


Also, how did the Decree that was with Ye li's mother go into the consorts hands? And why doesn't Ye li have control to her mother's shops? So many questions but no answer...

I have watched this drama more than 20 times and I still don't know why did Eun jae and Jong yeol break up? Their relationship was absolutely fine in first season, and in second season as soon as Eun jae actress changed , the guy just broke up😂
