In the Novel, Lu Xixiao is A Player rather than a bad boy, he has no interest in studies or art, he is just living by each day, until Zhou Wan shows up, she is rather complicated, because of his player like nature, he would change girlfriends on monthly subscription basis, so Zhou Wan thought of using him to get the money (her father's savings) from her mother . Her mother somewhere knew that Lu Xixiao's father wouldn't easily marry her, and she was scared of Old Lu, so when she sees Zhou Wan with Lu Xixiao , she tries to do everything to seperate them unlike drama she doesn't play with Zhou Wan, making her push lu Xixiao out, she just wants to live in that house. Lu Xixiao in the beginning had doubts about Zhou Wan using him but later actually trusts her, even when he gets to know he was used, he was fine with it, he was ready to let it go, he even did something extreme to gain her sympathy so that she stays, even when he comes back, he does something cruel, tries to invoke her guilt towards him so that she can stay with him. Both of them are so twisted that they needed alot of time to learn how to love normally. So that novel was more of trauma bonding to me.

Luo he is the debt collector as well as rent collector, Zhou wan's grandmother had once taken care of that uncle so, he let them live in that house and collect the debt in the form of rent, but the debt collectors are typically rouge and the uncle wouldn't know how they collect debt, they are usually just a Lackey to the main guy who hands over the debt to that uncle. That's why she usually threatens with the uncle's name to them. That Luo he is also 18 years old and he takes up any kind of job that pays him well.

That's what!!! It's easy for people to just say "You need to open up" but a person who was never heard, can never open up, in their head they have lots to say but those words never reach the mouth. In her head, she is a burden, someone who shouldn't exist, she feels because of her, her father suffered, her grandmother suffered. So first she should overcome her self hate, that's when she will learn to open up. Most importantly she is just 17, how will she know what is the right choice, she is so busy trying to survive. Even at 27 people make this mistake, can a minor who hardly even has any money do anything

Technically they are To- be siblings, but I don't think his dad will marry Guo Yan, and his only wife is Lu xixiao's mom, remaining are all girlfriends or extra marital affairs. That Dude has more heartbreak stories than his son. He is the actual Bad Boy in this Drama 😂.

Most importantly, it's Guo Yan who thinks he might marry her but he isn't into marriage, he just wants "women" around him.

Please don't, I read half way and I felt like slapping the male lead

Am I the only one who feels in certain scenes the light set up is odd? In some scenes (example arcade), I think because of the scenes their lips look weird, especially the Male lead, It looks like he has blood on his lips.

So, they have removed the whole arc of his daughter? I didn't find any kids in the cast

He hates the Lu family but believes that he is the legitimate one, now I think they made it so that the 2ML also has some characteristics, now when he will get to know the truth, it will be more angst to watch, also I think, Unlike the novel ML will move into Art Stream. A perfect heartbreak as a muse. But I'm confused, is Guo Yan going to marry or is she already married to that guy? Because if it becomes Siblings /MY fault then I would have to drop it. I read the novel just to confirm if they are siblings but atleast in the novel they weren't siblings yet, she was just a girlfriend and I think he had a backup for her as well. ML's dad is the actual Player. Also, the director needs to remove some lights, it's too bright at some scenes, that I feel it makes them look like waxed dolls, just the episode 7 I think, there is one such scene , their outdoor scenes are good though.

I Think they purposefully made changes in 2ML character

I really like how the changes his character from the novel, because when the tragedy happens , it will definitely show how much he was hurt. That lively personality is something I can fall for anyday.

History is so complex, I wish there was a Database back then😂

After yesterday's episode, I'm even suspicious of her uncle, he knows alot and is so hurt my his mother's sudden passing, I don't think , he will forgive this easily

This drama is definitely A must watch for me, like it will make you rack your brains, literally every character has a story and a deadly plan of their own against each other, like everyone has a smile with a dagger. It's like watch a live chess game, you move one piece and then boom, another piece is dead.

Out of all the dramas I watched this year, this might be in my re-watch list and the only Chinese drama I enjoyed this year (till now)

I think she is a villain, she seems to be plotting against the Empress dowager. She is creating a rift between mother and son, I feel she has her own set of revenge, from lishan academy and empress dowager. But you are right, she can definitely use it as a leverage against the marquis and Empress Dowager. I feel she wants them to be on the same team so that she can bury them together. At the same time, I like how everyone has their own story and their own schemes, literally no character seems to be idle, everyone has a plan in their mind. That's what's fun

ATP, I feel every historical story has an imperial edict, which the villains never destroy, like dude, you had all the time and resources but you want to keep the evidence, so that one fine day, you can be caught, how Selfless of you😂.

I was so happy when I got to know it was destroyed, because i wanted to see other possibilities of them getting the truth to light, but again it is in the hands of villains who won't burn it. Can you atleast be efficient at your work Ms. Villain.

Why were lishan academy people against the Empress dowager ascending the throne? She was their student right?

I think it's a Toxic gas or wild fire started by the Empress Consort, That marquis and that lu fang or something like that, that's why she killed him with fire. They say "Don't Give in to them", when she is running to the exit, so they know who has started it, since she wanted Empress dowager to ascend the throne, also explains their masks but how is it that she doesn't know that they might be dead? This would also explain why monkeys randomly started biting, due to fire the mountain is inhabitable, so they might have started attacking humans for food.

There is one more hypothesis, there must be a plague but, as soon as they started buring bodies to reduce contamination, it started affecting more people from the smoke, this would explain the smoke which we see in earlier episode and their covered faces. It would still not explain what kind of plague is it that didn't affect that one girl alone. And this would make the monkeys just a red herring, like after seeing so many dead bodies may be she had just thought them to be monkeys to reduce the sufferings.
