Title Miss the Dragon Spoiler
This started out with a lot of promise, but it never really got to the point where I loved it. I DID love the second couple, more than the first, which tells you something. It comes down to a couple of points. 1) I never understood why the main couple couldn't be together. 2) In every single life, she just accepts whatever happens to her. He doesn't want to be with her? Oh, she'll just pine/wait/whatever. She's never angry at him for wasting literal lifetimes. 3) She wastes literal lifetimes on this guy, and she does that knowingly in her 3rd life. No pushing, no questions, no anger. She just starts the same cycle over, and I cannot relate to that at all. I would have liked it better if in her last life he was ready to get together and she hated his guts. I would be furious (even unconsciously) if I'd spent three lifetimes suffering from a broken heart. Thoroughly disappointed.
On Time Flies and You Are Here May 29, 2021
The writing for this started out (just) okay, but it goes downhill. Lots of choices are made just for the sake of drama. First of all, everything happens on the first day. Lots of bullying and all that jazz. Then there's the leading man. If there's a chance to be mad, he takes it. I can stand that for a few episodes if he improves, but it's so tiresome here. His behavior really just comes across as erratic. Every time he gets mad, his friends go out of their way to explain it away and ask for people to be more understanding of him. Ep 18 rolls around and after telling everybody he's selling her, it's just...forgiven. Her family was distraught and he didn't earn that forgiveness. The writers really should have stepped it up, but they didn't and now we're left with something that stopped being enjoyable.

Ok so 18 eps in my 9 dropped down to a 7.5, I am being nice with the 7.5 because I like the actors. My problem…
I came here to write pretty much what you did. I was willing to forgive some things, but if there's a misunderstanding to be had he takes the chance to be mad about it. And he never really apologizes? Except that one moment in ep 18, and that's after spending days publically telling people he's going to sell her? You have got to be kidding me. This is some really bad writing.

Agree! I heard they are taming the romance down to get younger viewers.
I'm glad the younger viewers have a positive female role model to look up to in this drama, but I can't deny I'm disappointed (as a romance fan)

In the source material, this Manhua was trapped in legalities, JUST AS Sun admits he wants her. So, it has no…
I see. Well, that's disappointing; I guess I won't be so bothered about updates in the future.

I like this drama. The acting is very nice and the look of the drama is actually interesting. More than that, it's not a bad drama. That being said, if there's one thing that I wish it would do is SLOW DOWN. Not come to a grinding halt or anything, but give dramatic beats their moment. Let them (and the audience) feel the emotions, then move on. I feel like it skims over things that it shouldn't, dramatically speaking, and lingers where we could move on. I feel like sometimes we do a lot of moving around physically but the story doesn't advance. Those two (relatively small) flaws keep it from being great.

I think the FL is amazing. The character is great. As someone who has never read the manga, though, I am having SUCH A HARD TIME distinguishing who is who, especially her uncle's advisors? They look...exactly alike. The same mustache, etc. Their voices are similar too. I get so confused about who the bad guy is.

so many writer friends *waves excitedly* & yup. this is just another reason I'm also finding this drama absolute…
So could we call her a planster? Poor baby is struggling so hard to make the characters do what she wants.

The drama is overrated so far IMO. Not worth 8.9!! It is cute but come on now. They shouldn't show the ML's hands...his…
I think it's absolutely worth the 8.9. It has comedy that genuinely makes me laugh, an engaging actress, every character has agency, nobody makes a dumb move without actual motivation, and it's super meta. It's one of the most enjoyable cdramas that I've watched in a long time.

"the fruit circle is messy" #DEAD I'm also an author/writer so I feel this show in my SOUL. Her talking to "storytellers"…
Honestly, same. She keeps trying to predict what happens but her outline/plot has gone so far off the rails that she can't help but be carried along with it. And I love that every single person has their own agenda here. He's got so much agency it's not even funny--but of course it is funny, because they are working directly against each other. As a plotter I can't help but appreciate how literally everything she tries to do is met with a reaction or twist. Her soundboarding the other storytellers? Genius.

This drama is pretty refreshing in the Chinese drama landscape. It's literally the first time I've ever heard a Chinese male lead refer to someone of his own gender as a chauvinist. And boy, that would have sold me even if I wasn't already there because of the female lead. I like her acting a lot more than other actresses who take themselves super seriously, but her charm and breezy attitude never feels too over the top. I also like the turnaround of roles. The ML is just as deadly and dangerous as any other, but he's also the one crushing and trying to win his lady's affections. I definitely love how every single time they both try to solve a problem they run into another problem! It keeps things interesting. So many people want very different things, which means a scene keeps my attention even when it shouldn't (political stuff, for example). Overall, loving this.

Title Love Is All
This is exactly the kind of lighthearted thing I needed. The ML is serious but also has a sense of humor. He likes to tease the FL, who is just as smart as he is even if she isn't as mature. She's really refreshing. Every character in this drama has their own personality and adds to my enjoyment. It's not a very in depth and emotionally heartwrenching plot, but you know what? I don't always need that. Sometimes I just want characters that I like getting together (and everybody in the drama ships them too).

Thanks, I'm enjoying this drama. However, while I know it's not a serious love triangle, being an intense love…
That lasts for maybe an episode or two at most. You'll be fine!

Care to share what happen in the end of the season that makes you so angry? Anyone dies? Is Fan Xian still together…
It didn't make me curious. Mostly I just felt like I had wasted my time getting invested.

In the last two minutes Fan Xian is betrayed and stabbed. He dies. No answers for anything. You don't even see Wan Er for several episodes up to this point. It's really abrupt and like you get slapped in the face for investing all your time.
On Dreaming Back to the Qing Dynasty Dec 26, 2019
This is definitely an escapist drama that plays a little fast and lose with a few details (THERE IS NO WAY AN ARCHITECT INTERN CAN AFFORD THAT APARTMENT) but the chemistry of the actors makes up for that. I don't fast forward too much and I just love watching them interact with each other. It's also refreshing to see the same story from the younger princes' perspectives. They don't want the throne itself, but they have a stake in it. I would have liked a little more gravity in some scenes to ground it in reality (life and death consequences that aren't brushed over) but overall I enjoy and recommend this to anyone that just wants to watch the cute.
On The Romance of Hua Rong Dec 26, 2019
I did not think I would like this drama, but for some reason I really, REALLY do. There's never a dull moment, that's for sure. I took a minute to warm up to the FL, but she's hilarious. She sticks to her guns even if she isn't exactly the kung fu master of the world, yet what I really like about her is that she is quick on her feet and not afraid to lie her bum off if the situation calls for it. She's tricky and she keeps the ML on his toes. I'm always a sucker for anti-hero falls for girl first, and this definitely delivers. Not the strongest drama in the world, but you know, sometimes I just want to turn my brain off and enjoy.

I finished all the way to the end (unsubbed) and I was SO ANGRY. Too angry to be angry, if that makes sense. I'm glad there's going to be a second season and all--but I've heard that before and been burned. I'm going to sit the rest of this out until it's all completed.
I'm still loving this drama, though not for my usual reasons. I'm a diehard romantic, and there's certainly romantic subplots, but that's mostly background in this drama. I can't help but love it though. I thought Saya would be a "Soft Boi" version of Eunseom, but I was SO DELIGHTFULLY WRONG. He's not the physical kind, but man, he's definitely a product of who raised him. He's just this side of twisted, and I already dig him.
