I think it depends on the novel content. If the content doesn't match goverment's value, then it will not pass the censorship. So the filmmaker should follow the rules. It goes same with drama remake. They cut plot or scenes that seem problematic. In examples: too gory, sadistic, adult jokes, nudity, something against family value, against party's value. Etc.

The second pair's storyline doesnt really consume the shows. They are exist as a reason to bring FL and ML together. Glad the whole shows is dominated by our main leads. Otherwise I have to skip many scenes like I did in Zhang Binbin and Esther Yu's drama.

I think I get withdrawal syndrome after watching this one. It is hilarious to see HZY 2022 and HZY 2021 commenting on each other. And CJL infatuated with HZY 2022 while ditching HZY 2021. They are literally the exact same person! 🤣🤣🤣
Glad I watch this remake that consist of 24 eps. Even though they reduce 2 eps, some parts are still draggy. And this version seems lighter than the original that is supposed to be darker.
