And wow the format is so similar too. I've missed Abnormal Summit so damn much so I'm glad this at least is similar
I mean, it's both similar and different from Abnormal Summit. From what I remember from Abnormal Summit was that it mostly focused on international news and had a casting of all men, while this show focuses on the love and relationships of international couples and the cultural differences of dating in different countries as well as features men and women guests to get perspective of both sides.
Now that I just saw the whole trailer, it's really like that Hollywood movie. I hope it's just a Chinese version…
Late reply, but yes, this IS indeed the Chinese remake of "While You Were Sleeping". It is a Disney produced film, so I'm sure they wouldn't go ahead with it if they didn't have the rights.
This is a pretty good trailer. I thought it will be a terrible remake. Anyway, looking forward to watch the movie.
Ryu Seung Ryong (who played the role of the dad in the original) saw the trailer and actually praised it on social media. He's actually quite excited for the remake.
hmmm. and here I thought I'll watch Nadine as the adult female lead.
Nadine dropped out stating she had some health issues. My guess was she was exhausted from practicing dance for her film INDAK (which didn't do well). And prior to that, I heard she worked on a horror film as well. Honestly, I think she deserves a break.
The parent company of the movie licensed the movie to other countries to make their own version, so, I feel a…
Concerning officially licensed remakes, I know the following countries have one: China, Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia, Phillipines, India.
I remember they wanted to eventually have a version for every country though. That being said, I don't think Taiwan will have one since they technically partnered it with China as a Taiwanese actor was a part of the Chinese remake.
I know this is 2 years old comment and this movie isn't that similar, but the 2018 Vietnamese movie Em Chưa 18 (Jailbait) has older guy, younger girl synopsis
Mischievous Kiss was definitely worth the watch and since that's the only one I've watched out of the other ones…
This version, along with the Taiwanese and Thai remakes were among my favorite adaptations among them all - anime included (which was way worse than any of the live actions). I liked Mischievous Kiss a lot among the classics despite it having some questionable adaptations.
I rarely watch American TV because a lot of it just pushes agendas, not family friendly and is really not funny...…
Actually, the original was from a Latin American country and JTV America is a remake which actually changed a lot from the source material - like Jane's job for example. And Jaejoong just pulled out for conflicting schedules.
I remember they wanted to eventually have a version for every country though. That being said, I don't think Taiwan will have one since they technically partnered it with China as a Taiwanese actor was a part of the Chinese remake.
