It is part of toxic ennvironment in an organisation. When they have some fault, people tend to find the weakest link in their team/group, these people need to find a scapegoat to be blamed. So they can save their own career. In this case, shan shan is only an employee that has not pass the probation, she has the lowest position in her team and an easy target. Missing a zero in a contract could make a big loss the company (we are not talking about 10 thousand here, looking at their contract with some international people, they could easily have contract of 10 million or even billion dollar, so with just missing 1 of zero, it could easily become a disaster, especially once the contract is signed, it become a binding contract which hard to alter.
