I'm on ep. 11 and I love the theme so far, it's heartbreaking to see east country and its people being attacked. On the other hand, I can't help but like the support characters more than the main characters, and that's the only thing that kept me watching till ep 11 and will try to make it to ep 38 if i can get to finish it. FL's character feels a bit empty, the script could have been better. Although she's very kind and understands east country's people as well as war, the romance is a bit... I feel like she ended up following ML to many places with the excuse of work, she did work but her motivations were not that focused on why she was sent there in the first place, she even criticized Shen Bei for coming to EC for Li Zan.... but FL wasn't that far away from that same critique. I liked that you can see ML's character focusing on his job and asking to be transfered to Hoppo without thinking twice if someone close to him was joining him or not because his job was his priority and therefore helping people after all. I really liked that.

Support characters like Saxin, Benjamin, Captain Jiang, Shen Bei, Rina and Dr. Pei were very very likeable and refreshing after such heavy topics like bombs, war victims and so on; or very slow scenes like romance.

I hope I can get to see the FL development and decentering ML.

It's a very good show so far

Although I like it, I still feel like ML's stone face is too much sometimes. Yes, they show him being anxious and trying to fit in into FL's family at one point but he's just... there. And she always gets away with her attitude when others would be never allowed to do that, which that's the point with her but it gets too repetitive after all. Romance seems very shallow even when he truly cares about her but it's like a chemistry problem ?? I don't know. I think other characters have carried the show more than the FL and ML tbh, like her mom, her friend and I even like the teacher more than ML, he's more captivating and you can get to know his emotions and his nature more openly. And I'm not a hater at all, it was refreshing to see such FL but... I can't help thinking that this show is somewhat overrated. I have started pt. 2 to see bigger changes but it continues kind of the same so far...

I just commented about FL’s acting a few minutes earlier than you as well because I thought I was the only one who noticed those details!

This is my first time watching angelababy’s work and I cannot seem to completely like her acting, it might be because of this character in specific ? but I noticed that the FL often portrays different emotions with the same neutral facial expression so far. On the other hand, ML is a bit more expressive, but I also feel the same way as with FL when it comes to acting. First episode was really hard to watch because of this but I’m giving it a chance for sure.

Just finished this drama, it was suuuuper boring at first but past 16~20 episode it gets kinda good. I honestly liked all the support characters except the main leads, but it’s enjoyable by the end.

two years later and still nothing... It's been too long now

I first want to finish Blossom in Adversity (which is getting extremely boring) because I'm afraid to start this drama and end up dropping BiA. Read some comments saying this one good and some others saying it's mid, I only care about romance to be well developed and not rushed, and also FL not being the cute and easy to cry type. So, is it worth to watch?

Todos estan acostumbrados a los romcom y que todo sea lindo o que el ML aparezca conduciendo y vea de sorpresa a la FL caminando de noche mientras llora. Obvio este drama es bastante grisáceo y deprime y aburre a muchos, naturalmente, pero siempre explica el por qué de cada personaje y tiene una perspectiva menos idealizada de lo que es vivir en ciudades grandes. "Solo di que es un coñazo y que sois unos aburridos tristones y deprimidos" si te referís así a la audiencia, naturalmente no te va a gustar este drama ya que la misma historia es así, deprimente y lenta. No es que tiene una mala cinematografía o un mal script, los personajes se desarrollan individualmente y ofrece justamente lo que dicen sus tags: soledad, slow burn, alcoholismo, etc. Y, por esa razón, verdaderamente este drama no es para todos.

Meaning that his appearance was always extremely clean but now… hope it’s a nightmare or those “what could have happened” scenes that Mu Dan has had… although I doubt it because ML will confront the king Ning so he’s at risk.

Why did the princess behave like that? I know she explained her ex marriage took away her innocence but I thought she was going to have a deeper reason like the princess in The Double.
