You can call out a misogynistic society/industry without excusing driving under the influence, which is a serious issue in SK currently and can result in the immediate death or disabling of innocent parties.
I understand you are upset that someone was hounded to death but what outcome do you hope for by highlighting someone clearly self-harming through drug use? Where are you seeing evidence that Yoo Ah In engineered this drug trafficking business himself instead of being subjected to it then manipulated by the parties benefitting off of those with substance abuse issues?
Do you actually have any experience dealing with someone with substance abuse issues in your personal life? Unless they are distributing themselves, by majority they are victims to a system that preys on them. So many people with mental health issues turn to substance abuse to self-medicate and others may use it for self-harm.
Show empathy towards others consistently and do not use someone's death in vain or as a gotcha, especially not for a media logging website.
I thought the first episode was slow as hell but I really enjoyed this, like, it was a solid watch. I think it'll be better on a rewatch but I'm not rushing to rewatch it. Also I think all the critique that it is too slow is fine and valid, not everyone likes a build up, though aside from episode 1, I personally thought the pacing was well done. It kept me wanting to know more and had great tension, plus the characters felt pretty grounded in reality, which is a rarity nowadays.
Crazy how career feels truly over, I'll miss watching her act. I was profusely bullied in high school and don't really know the end facts so I won't comment on that (I don't think I could be 100% unbiased.) But she was really talented is all I'm saying.
This is very different than the manga/anime, just as a heads up for any other fans of the original. I'll still keep watching it I think but it's very much it's own thing - which isn't a bad thing just caught me off guard.
Wow what a cliffhanger! I'm currently rooting for Lee Jae Yoon's team admittedly lol, but I didn't know people were so angry with Kim Dong Hyun's team until I came here. Honestly I don't think his attitude or methods are that worthy of controversy? It's a competition with money on the line...
Even when he doubts someone he's quickly proven wrong and seems to respect the outcome/laugh at how he shouldn't underestimate them. I think he's just being prideful and not playing the congeniality came but I wouldn't say he's as bad as a lot of people here are making him out to be? Different opinions are fine, though, maybe I just am not as sensitive as others seem to be.
Aside from that I LOVE Soojin so much, what a powerhouse! She's everything, I hope she's in Siren S3 or something. Super adorable and refreshing to see someone's cockiness be earned.
ha rin u sure it was ja eun who bullied you?? imo all she wanted at the starting was that the other kids wont…
I'm so glad Soo Ji called her out after her "boohoo you were a bystander when i was being bullied" moment, because in reality she was just a psychopath lol

edit: wording was off
