It's not just revenge, he has the weight of all those families under the Huo protection who died on his shoulders so for him it's more so avenging. His unexpected love for CSS has caused him to pause and question his decisions but even she admitted that she "wouldn't forgive and would return the pain 1,000 times back".
I kinda understand (not saying it's ok) that he's going to chose justice for the deaths of all those hundreds of people over his love for CSS. Sucks but he's already admitted that he can't let go of the past.

Lowering the FL to bring her to the ML's level while the ML more or less stays the same character wise, typical thing in dramas unfortunately smh

His body count and how far he's willing to go to get his revenge might make us question that but he's a morally gray person

Yea he has always been dark but as they keep showing the layers you see the various levels of just how dark. He's not a bad person nor is he a good person and the fact that he is in between makes him not your typical trope ML

Ep 36 gave me a roller coaster of emotions. I laughed, clapped with joy, got mad as hell, cried, my heart fluttered and grinned like a fool and ending with annoyance. What is this drama?!

YES!! Trust issues and how their on opposite ends. She values family despite what her own did to her (remember how she defended Lou Yao to his fiancee at their wedding) while he doesn't care about family cause he's never really belonged to one (he words)

This drama is very emotional 😢
I know LBY thinks he has CSS's best intentions at heart but why does he keep expecting her to give things up while he gets to remain the same? He told her he likes her just the way she is only to turn around and ask her to blindly listen to him and stay out of things? That is not her nature cause she's had to defend and depend on herself for the last 15 years. For the short time he has known and secretly stocked her, he can see she resolves all her issues by herself.

Ahhh her response to him at the end of the episode 32 was so satisfying 😌 I'm gonna enjoy watching him lose character and open up to her (even if it's only little).

This drama is so good perfect balance of romance, family, drama, mystery and wit!

Consort Yue is so fierce and I love her for not discriminating when it came to giving tongue-lashings bravo 👏
And CSS was just obsorbing everything up with her ears perked 🤣🤣🤣

I think since this is a family drama, there isn't really an "antagonist " per say. Only mystery/suspense is the revenge plot LBY is unraveling.

Just have to say, even though LBY isn't familiar with being in a marriage much less a relationship he understands CSS best out of all three guys who like her. For example, he knew she what she wanted to do with the bridge before she even made her plan for the group of girls and when he said they are both stuck in the past (which just broke my heart for both of them) these were all from his observations of her.
Love this show, hope Part 2 continues to be good!!
