This a franchise with a base storyline they're going to follow. I'm not not sure if you've seen the other versions but this is part of the plot and will continue to be shown... if you're expecting something else this show might not be for you

I love how the this version has Thyme identifying with the darkness in people because that who he is as well. He did it with Hana and then in with Talay. The writers are really smart!!
